It has also been a central factor in the most exciting and controversial season of F1 in living memory as Hamilton was involved in a three-way fight for the world crown. Industrial espionage, claims of team favouritism and some stunning on-track action have peppered Hamilton's first season in the sport's top category.
Here is the in-depth story of this phenomenon - from his upbringing on a Stevenage council estate to the day he first sat in a kart as a seven-year-old, to his sensational challenge on the world title.
Friends, colleagues, team-mates, rivals, chaperones, and engineers who have worked with him here give some remarkable insights into Lewis the man and the driver, as well as into the close but complex relationship with father Anthony, the man who has largely steered his career.
In the process, we see how F1 success has changed this young man's life in a very short space of time.

  • I'm Only Being Honest Audiobook by Jeremy Kyle

    Title: I'm Only Being Honest
    Author: Jeremy Kyle
    Narrator: Jeremy Kyle
    Format: Abridged
Length: 1 hr and 50 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 05-28-09
    Publisher: Hodder Headline Limited
Ratings: 3.5 of 5 out of 2 votes
    Genres: Bios & Memoirs, Celebrities
    Publisher's Summary:
Teenage pregnancy, alcoholism, juvenile delinquency, absentee parents, soaring rates of drug addiction - modern Britain can often seem like a hive of social dysfunction. But all these national and very public issues can trace their origins back to a much smaller, private sphere: the family home. Over the last twenty years, traditional family values have declined to the point where young adults with little or no guidance marry too early, have children before they understand the responsibilities of parenting and end up being swamped by the demands of their new lives. The cycle repeats and the problems worsen, impacting on every level of society. It's time this downward spiral was halted.
In I'm Only Being Honest, Jeremy Kyle will argue the need for the firm hand and unconditional love that seems so absent from certain young parents more intent on clubbing than taking responsibility for the life they have brought into this world. He will question the ethics and morals of those who see having children as something of a career, not least the systems in place that make it so easy and appealing to sacrifice personal ambition in favour of a free ride at the expense of the state. And he will map out an agenda for change, insisting on the dual importance of personal responsibility and strong government in ironing out our nation's many creases.
Using experiences gleaned from the upheavals in Kyle's own life, alongside the stories of people he has met and helped on his show, and told with his trademark candour, I'm Only Being Honest is a forthright and controversial look at modern British life that will outrage some, anger others, appease many, but will doubtless set the debates raging.

    Boring
This is just tales of people who have been on the show, the worst of the worst. He talks to fast and bigs himself up. Boring, depressing and less interesting than a really dull show.
Try it & love it, you wont be dissapointed!
I felt that i really should write a review for this book even though i dont normally bother with reviews, this was truly fantastic.
If i was to say anything negative it would only be that for me it seemed to be over to soon - would of loved to hear more!
The honesty shared reminded me why i enjoy biographies.
Being a fan of the show i loved the way it was mixed in with Jeremy's own experiences again would be nice to hear more about him.
Another plus is that it is being narrated by him, i dont think someone else could have done it justice.
There are so many other good things i could write but i will end with saying to not listen to this, you would be missing out!

  • Just Me Audiobook by Sheila Hancock

    Title: Just Me
    Author: Sheila Hancock
    Narrator: Sheila Hancock
    Format: Abridged
Length: 6 hrs and 7 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 09-23-08
    Publisher: Bloomsbury Publishing Plc
Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 4 votes
    Genres: Bios & Memoirs, Celebrities
    Publisher's Summary:
"Well now, prove it, Sheila. As John would say, 'Put your money where your mouth is. Be a depressed widow boring the arse off everyone, or get on with life. Your choice.'"
In The Two of Us, Sheila relived her life with John Thaw - years packed with love and family, delight and despair. And then she looked ahead. What next? Gardening, grannying and grumbling, while they all had their pleasures, weren't going to fill the aching void that John had left.
"Live adventurously", a Quaker advice, was hovering around her brain. Putting her and John's much loved house in France on the market, she embarked on a series of journeys. She tried holidaying alone, contending with invisibility and budget flights. She tried travelling in a group, but the questions she wanted to ask were never the ones the guide wanted to answer.
She tried relaxing - harder than you might think. Finally, heading out of her comfort zone, she found her travels, and the things she discovered, led her back to her past; to consider her generation - the last to experience the Second World War - and the kind of person it made her.
Just Me is a book about moving on, but it is also about looking back, and looking anew. Sheila, whether facing down burglars and Easyjet staff or making friends with waiters and taxi drivers, whether unearthing secrets in Budapest, getting arrested in Thailand, exulting in the art of Venice or searching for a decent cup of coffee in Dorset, is never less than stimulating company.
Honest - because if you can't say what you think at 73, when can you? - insightful and wonderfully down to earth, she is a woman seizing the future with wit, gusto and curiosity, on her own.
    Members Reviews:
    Just as good
This is a sequel to 'The Two of us'. Really enjoyed it. Ms hancock is a great narrator of her own personal story after the death of John Thaw.
    "Just Me"
Such a well balanced and entertaining book written by one who has successfully journeyed through bereavement to emerge as a person who has worked hard to become able and ready to pick up and enjoy life albeit as an 'older' 'single' lady. Sheila writes with insight on just how difficult it can be to engage with society and friends after the death of a loved one, but also her insights help to speak into how it can be for anyone who lives life alone whether by choice or circumstances. A jolly good entertaining, very well read book that is sure to entertain.
    Eloquent & Surprising
I admire Sheila Hancock for her acting & really enjoyed her previous book about her life with John Thaw. She pulled no punches then & doesn't in this book about learning to live without John. She is frank about grief but also able to celebrate joy. Also frank about he relationship with her daughters ie becoming clingy & feeling sorry for herself but coming through it & building something stronger. The 'surprising' part was her visits to Hungary & Germany & her graphic re-telling of the uprisings in the 1950s & how man Germans have or in some cases have not adjusted since the end of WW2.
Above all I loved her optimism & determination to live the final years of her life to the full.

And so begins an epic journey - from Berlin to Tokyo, Los Angeles to Loughborough - as Danny sets out to find and meet the old gang. He meets Fijian chiefs. German rappers. And a carvery manager who's managed to solve time travel. But how will they react to a long-lost friend turning up out of the blue to see if they're coming out to play? Can you be friends forever?
    Members Reviews:
    Fantastic!
This book is up to Dannys usually high standard - very funny at times, but with a good dose of his own personality. It was all the better because he reads it. Buy this book....and finally POTATO! (download the book!)
    Friends Like these
I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it. It was funny and engaging and Danny Wallace reads it really well.
    Entertaining Mr Wallace
As has been said, Danny's reading here is enthusiastic and well executed - some care has been taken (not always the case with audiobooks) to produce a quality product. There are even some "bonuses" added.
It is a funny and touching story that I have now listened to three times! I wish that it was available unabridged - high praise indeed...
So why only four stars? A bit churlish this I know, but Danny Wallace books, despite being seemingly disparate in subject matter, are in danger of becoming formulaic.
    Great holiday/plane listen.
    Excellent and fun
Fun and easy to listen but still thought provoking. The author is an excellent reader and its more like listening to a story told than actually read.
Enjoyed it even though I'm past thirty!
    past caring
thin pretext and then a rambling repetitive narrative that hardly raises a laugh

Toni Lamond has lived and breathed show business all her life and has had a distinguished career in TV, cabaret and the musical stage. Born to an Australian show-business dynasty, Toni's career began at age 10 singing on the radio and touring with her parents' variety shows and has since encompassed musical comedy, straight plays, recordings, film and cabaret.
In Australia she went on to star in the original productions of The Pyjama Game, Oliver, Gypsy, Anything Goes, Tunnel of Love and Wildcat. In the early 60's, a television pioneer, she was a regular on Graham Kennedy's In Melbourne Tonight (IMT), ultimately hosting her own IMT, the first woman to do so. In the UK she appeared in night clubs, revues, BBC-TV and BBC Radio. After relocating to the US in the mid 70s through the mid 90s she worked extensively in theatre. She has since returned to live permanently in Australia.
Toni has won two Logies, a Variety Club Award, and the Mo Award. In 1993 she was presented with the Key To The City of Melbourne. In 2000 she was included in the Victoria Honors List of Women Shaping the Nation.
    Editorial Reviews:
Drawing on her lifetime of experience in vaudeville and cabaret, Aussie icon Toni Lamond razzles and dazzles in this performance of her mesmerizing memoir. Still a Gypsy is the sequel to Lamonds first autobiography, the best-selling First Half, and chronicles her time spent in Los Angeles, working in theater and television, and her mid-nineties return to Australian stages. In her urbane cabaret drawl, Lamond doles out yarn after yarn, each a tribute to her playful personality and time-honed stagecraft. The former comedienne brims with light-hearted good humor, while at the same time keeping things honest and intimate. To that end, listeners will immediately feel a strong rapport - a warm familiarity - with this storied and celebrated entertainer.
