ENJOYABLE YES..... BUT MORE OF A POP THAN A BANG

I usually love these types of paranormal/romance books and also anything JA writes is an automatic download for me. But I'm so sorry to say that there was just something about this listen that missed it's mark with me.

I don't know whether there's just too many sub plots going on at the same time as the main romance - yes there's a thread running between most of the plots but it just seemed a bit disjointed and didn't flow quite right. It had some great characters in it and it was action packed however, it seemed such a fractured story that it failed to make me care enough about any of it. Yes, there was a sweet romance going on between the two main characters - a cop and a were-cat, but even their sex scenes seemed more 'motion' than 'emotion' and, as a result, it failed to grab me.

Worth a credit. Well, if you've been happy with this series then I guess it's a must but this particular listen sadly just didn't really do it for me. However, I will download the next one in the hope of a more focused storyline.

Great Story bad accents

Would you try another book from Jennifer Ashley and/or Cris Dukehart?

Yes I would read more the shifter series but the narrator is not good at the accents or making you believe in the different characters.It is hard to feel the different emotions.

How could the performance have been better?

The narrator needs to practice her voices and maybe research more when she tries to replicate an accent.

Man did this book throw me for a loop! I was sooo pissed off. I was like what the heck happen to Liam, Sean and all the Morrisseys!!!! I was like this is not even the same shifter town...

Cassie and Diego story is pretty good... I like Diego hispanic background.... and his family. I actually can't wait until Cassie's brother story comes out... So , Yea I like this book... but I was expecting another story about the Morriessy Clan and it really messed me up until I realized they it was a diffrent shifter town. It all make sense in the end though.

Good credit. Don't buy. Just wait till your free credit.

Narration was good. Dukehart did a smashing job with Diego's family accents.

Reseph's Redemption

What a GREAT ending to the Lords of Deliverance series. Although I wasn't crazy about book 3, this one more then made up for it. Reseph was so horrible in the previous three books that I found it hard to believe the author could possibly make his redemption believable. Thankfully I was so wrong! You will absolutely fall in love with Reseph in this book. Ms. Ione did a brilliant job of making it feel real and not forced.

I want to give this book 5 stars all around, but again I didn't care for the narrator (just a personal preference).

Overall this is a credit worthy listen and a must read for fans of the series.

Hard to say...the entire storyline arc just comes together. And Pestilence is redeemed.

What does Erin Bennett bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

Wonderful narrator. She voices the characters clearly (i.e. gives then their own "voice/identity" so the listener is never confused as to who is speaking. She also infuses the characters and her "lines" with feelings and emotes properly.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

It's really hard to say. I was moved and captivated throughout the entire book (and the whole series).

Any additional comments?

I saw on Amazon that there will be another installment titles Reves (the angel). Would love to see it on audible as well whenever it comes out.

Riding with Pestilence.

I have really enjoyed this series. Don't start with this one though, start with the Demonica series first. I wasn't sure how this one was going to end up and was pleasantly surprised how well it work out. Now I am impatiently waiting for Reaver's book which I am hoping isn't going to be the last. Narrator is good.

Inconsistent narration but good story.

I thought this writer did a good job with introducing a twist in P/R. The narration at times was really good, then had trouble with changing pace to often, so the timing of humor and action seemed off. The thing that was a maddening distraction what the fact that the mysterious male hero started with a great russian accent, then mid conversation would have an english accent, then an American one. After a short time couldn't tell the difference between characters. The male characters personality really left a lot to be desired. He started with promise, then just fizzled out! Very distracting. Oh well...

Naff cover interesting original twist/plot

I purchased this free with a credit needing something for a long journey. Really interesting twist in the vampire genre with an even more interesting twist.

Alrerady put book 2 in my wish list.

Wont give the twist away but story set around young woman being attached and bitten, she is the only Human not to turn but instead to gain a few useful skills. She decides to take revenge on the whole vampire race by becoming a hunter. Her best friend is a fortune teller and the super hot friends brother is something?

She is commissioned to execute a sunwalker (thought to be a Vampire who could live in the sun) everyone tyhinks they are a myth. This story takes you though her journey to work through myth and truth and if true how she will find him?? I cannot tell you anyome without ruining it for you!!!

My only moan is that I like a narrator who brings her characters to life with their own voices and accents. There is ver little change in Emily Sutton-Smiths narrative : (

Not bad for a bargain book

This was an okay start to a series. Most of the book was pretty good, but it unraveled a bit at the end. I had not problem at all with the narration.

I was so frustrated to see the book fall apart at the end.

More of a Carry On Vamp than Interview With A Vamp

You would think, looking at the cover and reading the summary of the book, that this is going to be the usual 'hot 'n heavy' vamp tale - but you'd be sooo wrong.

It's not a dark tale but it is a well written fun filled plot about timetravel with curses, ghosts, double-crossing, lies, great entertaining characters, lots of humour and funny situations. The couple often talk to each other mind to mind with quick witted quips usually about sex but if you took out the mild sex talk and innuendos which occasionally led to the real thing (usually quick and not very descriptive) then this could have been a YA listen.

I had, in a moment of madness or during a sale, downloaded all her Dark Ones books and I've started with this one not realising it's actually book 10 but it could have been a stand alone listen and I will, in time, listen to the rest but more as a break from my normal books as I like the dark, brooding mysterious vamps like the infamous BDBrotherhood.

Worth a credit? Lots of fun, a light listen and very entertaining so Yes, but if I hadn't already of downloaded the rest then I wouldn't continue with the series - not because their bad books or badly written - but because their just a bit too 'light' for me.

Annoying!

Between the characters and the narration, this was one of the most annoying books I have listened to. The book was written in a way that attempted to be "quirky", but it was overkill. Instead of being entertaining, the quirkiness made the characters come across as imbeciles. I couldn't connect with either of the main characters. There was supposed to be this steamy attraction between the two, but it felt really forced and didn't pull me into the romantic connection. I don't think it was a "bad" book, just not my cup of tea.

The narration didn't help at all. The main female character was performed ok, but the guy's voice grated on my nerves the whole time, as did some of the supporting characters.

I probably won't be buying another book in this series, but I might give the narrator a second chance.

The narrator was so irritating I could not even finish the audiobook. Every time there was a sex scene the narrator dropped into this nasal, deep tone that sounded like someone delivering a bad punchline. There wasn't much to the story either.

Looking in Shadows for a Dweller

I wasnt really sure if I wanted to purchase this book because of Ecstasy, the book before this in the series. It wasnt that I didnt like Ecstasy; it just dragged in places and didnt get really good until half way through the book. But Rapture, ohh Rapture was excellent from the beginning. Daenaira is a strong, loyal, dedicated heroine that fights for everything that is right and just. Magnus is everything that I want my dominant men to be in a romance, strong, passionate, and willing to be vulnerable to their counterparts. The sex scenes in this book are tender and erotic at just the right moments, especially the first time Daenaira and Magnus came together. That scene was almost heartbreakingly beautiful to me. Love Love Loved it!!!!

My girl Kristen, as always did a fantastic job. She is definitely in my top five of favorite narrators.

Holy freaking hotness!!!!

Mmmm hmmmm this was one delicious listen! It took a minute for me to get into the first book in this series but what a phenomenal follow up Rapture was. I loved Magnus in book 1, and fell even harder for him in this one. He's a great warrior and man of the cloth that is super sexy! His love interest Daenaira was the kind of strong heroine you immediately love if you're into strong female characters. As always KP doesn't disappoint, giving you great impassioned narration that keeps you hanging on every word. This story has every credit worthy component for me---well developed characters, interesting plot, swoon worthy hot warriors, and erotic romance that will set you on fire! Credit worthy in spades! I've already gotten the third installment and can't wait to get started.

A FAIRYTALE STORY AND FUN

I really enjoyed this time travel romance about twins Morgana and Amanda born in Medieval Britain, Morgana was sent to the future as a sick babe to hopefully find a cure for her. Then, when she is 24, she's sent back in time and meets Lord Derek Vanguard and is mistakenly understood to be Amanda, her twin sister who is betrothed to Derek by the King but who had escaped.

It was a funny enjoyable romantic tale about Knights and castles and dreams coming true, no it wasn't 'historically acurate' but I don't think it was supposed to be, so don't look too deeply into this book - it's pure escapism and it's an easy listening fun romp through time.

I thought the narrator did a great job and didn't speak too fast for me but if you're concerned then sample her voice first..

Worth my credit? Yes, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Refreshing, Fun and a Nice Escape

A very different kind of audio book for me, but really enjoyable . . .time travel . . . kings and jousting matches . . . the story is well written, and I quickly got very attached to the characters . . .The modern day/centuries old fairy tale was a sweet story of much human value ... children growing up yearning for the love and nurture of their parents . . . and the way it all unfolds is unexpected and wonderful.

I am so surprised at how good this book is and the narrator was exceptional. Time travel, magic, adventure, love, all the right characters in place. I loved the whole book. Enjoyable enough listen

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would have until the last act. I feel the author's desire to prolong the couple getting together ultimately made the story suffer and I became too annoyed with the male character's refusal to see anything beyond his own bitterness. After he turned her away the last time I knew that whatever ultimate HEA ending was coming was not going to be satisfying to me anymore.

I zipped through the first two stories of this series and enjoyed them. This one was a little more "sexy" than I like but still an entertaining read...with a MAJOR cliffhanger. Curious to see what Book 4 is like!

On a downward spiral

What would have made Great Hexpectations better?

I really wanted this Dulcie story to be more that extensive descriptions of everyone's bodies and looks, and the main character's vanity. Fail. I couldn't even begin to count the F-bombs dropped through most of the book, which really isn't that bad, but she is a good writer & is capable of pulling out at least a few different ways to describe situations? And I've yet to figure out why, when Dulcie speaks, she appears to have a chip on her shoulder about nearly every situation, and sounds over confident in herself, yet in her head, all she does is bounce around dozens of reasons to question her ability, sense, etc. She never trusts anyone except Sam, and she doesn't trust herself.

What was most disappointing about H. P. Mallorys story?

it was just plain blech

she did great with what she had to work with. (sorry, I know that's not 3 words)

What character would you cut from Great Hexpectations?

well, you can hardly cut the main character, but I really would have liked to punch her in the face and shake some sense into her.

Great Story

So far this series is great. I love Dulcie!!! all the characters are wonderful. The writing and story line are wonderful. The narrator of the story is very pleasant to listen to and the voices she does for the other characters are not harsh on the ears. I am thoroughly enjoying listen to this series. I hope that after book 4 they will be available on audio. I love plugging in to Dulcie's adventures while at work.

Ripped Off

This isn't book three. It's the first chapter of book three.

I love book series. Usually it means the setting is continued and the characters remain the same. The new plot of each book in the series is then easy to become involved with as you already know the background. For excellent examples of book series look at J.D. Robb's In Death Series and Elizabeth Peters' Amelia Peabody Series.

I feel ripped off and cheated when I purchase a book and get only a half of one.

Wicked

Reputation is not alway what it seem and this book was exactly that way it kept you guessing and wondering

Amanda Quick does it again.

As any of Amanda Quick fans know if you like her stuff they are all good. I think Mistress is my favorite, I'm not as big fan of the Arcane society series. I don't like how she has a running series with all three of her pen names, I need to read books in order and this drives me crazy how it is all mixed up. This was a typical regency romance with a slight mystery involved. There were a few audio recording errors, a couple of times the lines repeated themselves at the beginning of the book. The first couple of times I thought I imagined it, but then they came more frequent as the story progressed. I've heard this narrator several times and knowing she isn't my favorite, I would still be willing to listen to her. She sounds like a smoker and sometimes you can hear her swallowing, this seems to be a problem she has with all books.

uncharacteristically of an Amanda Quick book, this rather dragged. Madeline/the heroine was a worrywart and a drip.

Please Don't Say It's Over!

Those of us who have read or listened to The Breed series have been waiting for Sterling Chase's "happily ever after" for quite awhile. However, this listener thought that this was the conclusion to an awesome series and I didn't want that. But not to worry. Even though this book tied up the loose ends nicely and brought us to a conclusion of sorts, a glance at the author's website shows books #11 and #12 to come so the world is not yet safe. (hooray for that!)

Chase is one of the good guys. He has always had a sense of honor even though he has been through some pretty horrible events. So he was due for some good stuff to happen and in this book, Chase found his perfect mate in Tavia. Tavia is a strong, likable character that is a great heroine, and she goes well with the tortured Chase.

Once again Hillary Huber is the narrator and she does an excellent job with the voices and accents. It is always nice when a great narrator reads the entire series.

Lara Adrian has not been repetitive in the course of 10 books. She came up with a fresh plot for every book. What an imagination she has!

I highly recommend this book, and the entire series. Not only did this series interest me enough to purchase every audio book, it has interested me enough to listen to every audio book again and again.

Buy the book, buy the series. You won't be disappointed.

Probably if they could cut the crap, it would probably be better than the book.

I really like the settings of these books. I really like the characters. I really HATE the long extended crap in getting to the friggin POINT! Jennifer is horrible at drawing every action out until you just want to fast forward or turn the damn thing off. Explanations in this series suck. Jennifer places them at ALL key points (at the beginning of every defining action) and draws them out for more time. Pull the damn trigger already or I'm leaving. She's has to input the actions of the previous books and how she FEELS about everything! If assassins had this many feelings they wouldn't BE assassins! They'd be stuck in therapy! And it get's worse with every book. I read them because I like character quirkiness and the DEFINING actions not because I'm falling in love with how it is written.

Am I the only one who would like authors to stop reciting actions from previous books in the series? If you just picked up book 5 and you missed something GO BACK and read the other books lazy! The rest of us shouldn't have to suffer.

A picture perfect ending that I wont soon forget

The showdown between Mab Monroe and Gin Blanco has been a long time coming; five books worth in fact but Spiders Revenge makes the wait worthwhile. Jennifer Estep doesnt waste any time and jumps right into the thick of things, she then proceeds to keep readers on edge, biting their nails up until the final pages with several close calls but not to worry, the Spider always gets her man woman.

Ive been dishing out nothing but the highest of praise for the Elemental Assassin series ever since I read the first book back in September and this fifth installment will be no different.
