Love CD Reiss, just Don't love this book.

I wanted to like this book... but it just wasn't my personal taste. It's depressing. The love scenes are abusive and dark. Even Sebastian York's seductive voice couldn't make this book sexy. It sat in my library for at least a month. The beginning was boring and the middle is just messed up. I kept trying to go back to it at different time's to see if it got more interesting. At this point I'm just going to throw in the towel. I'm bummed out and my ears are bleeding.

Not one of my favorites

Did not realize what the subject matter of the plot was and the struggle that lay ahead for the main character so at times it was a little difficult to listen to. At least at the end of the struggles the ending and the epilogue were happy. Probably won't be listening to it again though. Saved by two of my favorite narrators!

Awful book unless you like torture

I made it through about 4 hours before I gave it up! Rough sex, drugs, sad story. It might get better in the end and this is a good writer but the subject matter was awful! Depressing mental institution and forced sex!

Ok

Should have been a lot shorter. I found myself skipping chapters. It was very repetitive and at times, boring. There were some very nice parts but the parts that included sex weren't very exciting at all. Overall, I could have skipped this one.

Hard to get into this one

I likely wont read anything from this author again, this book took so long to get into it moved so slow and took me a long time to even enjoy the character. I was just mainly confused and frustrated in the beginning trying to sort her thoughts and even to hear them. Everything just seemed like a blur until almost the end.

I just didnt really enjoy the story line or the characters, aside from the doctor.

This book is more than it's sexy cover!

I really liked Arianna and Canyon. I cant imagine anyone not liking them. ESPECIALLY Canyon! The story grabbed me right from the beginning with a good amount of suspense. It was obvious that they both had a past to deal with that was affecting how they lived in the present. I couldnt wait to find out what had happened to them that got them to where they were.

I liked the narrator, Lauren Sweet. She did a good job reading the book. However, the voice that she used for Ariannas little sister Shelby was a bit grating at first but eventually I was ok with it, probably because Shelby was a super sweet and very smart girl.

Also, I do like to stare at this cover I may have stared at it a couple times just while I was typing this. Two words: YES, PLEASE!

I am now looking forward to listening to the follow up book Let It Be Us to find out where Arianna and Canyon go next.

All the feelings! I laughed and cried throughout this book. Narrator did amazing at bringing all of the emotions to life. The teenage angst, mingled with adult situations and how the characters handled them had to have been a nightmare for the author but she handled it with such grace.

5 Brilliant Stars

I really wasn't sure what to expect with this audio. When I see 17 year old, I always get a little apprehensive thinking the books going to be a little on the immature side and so I brace myself. NO need with this one if anything this girl/women Arianna is more mature then a lot of adults I know including me! :D

Ok so we meet Arianna and her family, I love her sister! Arianna is so so so good with her I loved that relationship throughout the whole book, these girls melt you heart I swear it.

Anyways they are new the town and right away you dont like the step-dad he is a grade A douche you want to push in to the lake. Her mother isn't any better. So already you have all these feels and then the girl has to start her last 2 months of her senior year of high school in a place she doesn't want to be and who doesn't want drama just to get through so she can get out.

Oh cant forget hunky dunky Canyon, ya with a name like that you so know he owns it. He is everything Arianna isn't looking for. He complicates everything in good and bad ways. She doesn't want to get attached to this place only she cant help it. Canyon helps her and becomes her friend and so so much more.

This is an emotional roller-coaster of a book I cried and even now thinking about it brings tears to my eyes I said to my husband who was giving me a hard time about being a softy, I told him look when an author can make me have to find the tissue its one hell of a book go back to our sports news and leave me be.

A Very PG Rock Star Romance

This was a very sweet love story that focused less on the rock star and more on the romance. It didn't delve to deep into the life of the rock star like most traditional books so if you're looking for that look elsewhere. This is also a very PG book so of your looking for something a little more steamy, also look elsewhere. This is just a cute sweet simple love story. Worth a listen.

Really enjoyed this book! It was fun and romantic and yes, it's quite sexy. It was SO enjoyable and just what I needed.

Honestly, I was a bit weary going in as I've been surprised in the past with too much sexiness. I love sexy scenes but they have to be done tastefully and they have to add to the story. Julia London definitely delivered.

Argh! I can't express enough how much I enjoyed this story. It was so much fun! I just wish I felt more connected with the characters.

Cristina Panfilio was delightful as a narrator. I loved the different voices she provided each character and she was quite soothing to listen to after a long day of work.

5 Crazy Ass Must Read/Listen Stars!!!!!

Audrey Carlan has done it again! I starting reading her work with the Calendar Girls series and absolutely loved it. She quickly moved her way on to my Favorite Author List and with the start of this new series, she has just solidified her place and moved up her spot.

I love the fresh take on a sports romance . The yoga part was really refreshing and has made me miss the practice. I even gone so far as to make an appointment for refresher lessons.

I love Viv and Trent's characters. Their story was sweet, funny, exciting, and oh so HOT! I just love how Audrey was able to incorporate all the different aspects of the story and made it one hell of story. I can't wait to read more from her. Commence stalker mode!

I love how the art of yoga is being written in this novel series. How yoga can be used sexually. Plus, Trent was a true Alpha male to Genevieve's femininity. They were the perfect yin and yang coexist. The story and the characters were fantastically written. I know that this series will be GREAT!!

a little disappointed

I didn't enjoy this book as much as January. I couldn't get into the artist and it felt like it had no depth too me. I enjoyed the narration and will move on to book 3.

No thanks!

Book one was good, even great. I just can't get into the screwing of guy #2 just after falling in love with guy number 1. And I can only presume that she will be mowing through another 10 men. I listened to the sex scene at 3X the normal audio speed because it's just so sleesy. For me emotional attachment is vital to a good romance book (or life!); I need to be pulled in and brought along. Such a massive turn off. I can not comprehend the high ratings for this series. To each his own. Those of my ilk should pass on this series.

February is hotter than January. The book continues to get steamy and the assignment in this client made for a great story. Calendar girl is a book to read! I really like this story and its just getting better. Ready for Chicago.

THIS IS MY NEW OBSESSION

Every once in a while, I stumble upon a series that I have to literally gorge on--this is one of them. Mia and her rendezvous have my complete attention and all of my focus. I'm not usually a fan of these super short stories that could very well be two or three 8-hours books, but, this one is true to the disclaimer, it's a standalone and super hot, although I think you need to listen in order to grasp the context and understand Mia's actions/thoughts etc. Part of what is making this book enjoyable is the narrator, she's GREAT as Mia.

Wow! Fantastic Story!

A truly captivating, well written story of falling in love! Excellent character development!

Loved the friendship, banter, and the overall easiness all the characters interacted with each other. This was a refreshing change of pace from the stories that have all the heat, attraction, and hot sex from the very beginning, to more of a touching, emotional story of slowing falling in love, learning to trust, letting someone in, and surviving.

I was soooo looking forward to book two until I saw all the negative reviews. Hummm, I can't visualize the character I just read about against what some of the reviews are leading too for the next book? Will have to think on it some before purchasing? But then again.... who am I kidding, I loved this story, and know I will listen to the other books in the series! :-)

As usual, narration was awesome! Mason always does a great job!

WHAT AN ADDICTIVE & WONDERFUL SURPRISE

Isn't it a real joy when an Author surpasses all your expectations and delivers a story that has so many loveable characters, describes them so well that you feel like you're friends with them all, creates a loyal loving brotherhood and then introduces a love interest for one of them. Well Dahlia West did that.... and so so much more.

Hayley is running - running from a Psychopath that had already caught her once, nearly killed her and has ruined her life.... and he is still free five years later. Now strong willed Hayley's a lonely drifter going from town to town until she reaches Rapid City where she's welcomed... but just not by everyone. Fun, easy listening book.

This was my first Audible book. I chose it to try the program. The Friends We Keep was a very enjoyable, happily ever after book. The narrator's voice was pleasurable and made listening to the book very easy and fun.

I really wanted to slap the main characters as this story progressed, Even though I knew how it would turn out. When I get my feelings railed up I take it as good writing. Keep the stories coming.

Whiney, cheesy, hallmark movie quality. This book is so unbelievably lame. Lacks any real plot. And the reader is annoying.

Amazing continuation of a great story line with struggles and encouraging ways to move ahead when real life situations happen. Not your mushy romance story but actual life as it happens and the importance of loving and being loved. Thank you

I enjoyed this book. Wish it had been longer with more details but a fun short listen.

From Pages to Voice. Still amazing.

Loved this book so much. I felt like I was a part of the book. Kept me on edge the entire time. Already moved on to the next boom it's so good. P.T. Michelle gave a great mystery love story with a little bit of zing. Everyone should listen to this book. If you want to listen to something well put together. Then this book is for you.

The ties that bind have never been sexier. great story development between main characters. the sex is RED HOT!!!

Not happy that the story was so short and that the next book Scarlett Red is not available on Audible :-(

This author, or should I say these authors, are some of my favorites. I've read and listened to the entire beautiful series as well as the wild seasons and as always the books are adorable and funny, cute and easy.

That being said....

Here's the thing about them, they tend to be repetitive, which is great if you aren't reading the whole series or you're reading out of order, but if you're reading them the way I do, as soon as they come out, it can be a little off putting. The whole dynamic of the series revolves around this group and they tend to run parallel so you find yourself basically re-reading something that you already had before. Sometimes it's nice to see the other side of a scenario, sometimes it's frustrating. The characters aren't deep.

The real hang up I had with this one, and actually probably all of them, is that you drown in details. I don't need to know how to make a vodka gimlet, I don't need to know every single thing that's in a room and I don't need to know every single over exaggerated feeling everyone has. It swamps you. It may just be me, but honestly, it's overwhelming and I zone out.

Now, if you can get passed it, the book is great. It's fun, and it made me laugh. I'm in my thirties so the early twenty-somethings tend to be a tad cliche with the whole girl friend- zones player, player falls in love and chases, nerdy girl resists kind of way, and it's pretty drama free. Light. Pretty much, the problems that kids fresh out of college worry about before the world becomes real.

I OBJECT!--TO THE NARRATOR

It's a sad day when a storyline with great potential is railroaded by sub-par narration. Honestly, I am officially not a fan of Deacon Lee. Unfortunately, this may be the fourth or fifth book I've listened to with him as the narrator. I'm sure in another story, with a non-romantic themed storyline, he's fantastic, but, not this genre, not this book.

The Legal Briefs series has been stellar up to this one. APPEALED was good, it was, but, really, the narration stole the show, and not in a good way. The best part of the story was the epilogue, which pulled everything together in one of the best HEA's I've heard in awhile. I still love Emma Chase, and would purchase other books by this author, but sadly, this one was just ok.

Would you listen to Appealed again? Why?

I liked it better the 1st time I listened to it. However, the second time all I heard was the snarky tremble of Deacon Lee's voice. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Emma Chase. I have all her Audio books and have listened to them all several times. I like that this is 1st person in the males perspective - Has the usual dry humor with laugh out loud moments. The characters are well developed. There is some "trip down memory lane" moments but they are done in a way that doesn't leave the listener confused. No insta-love and this is a stand alone story. It's an Emma Chase story what's not to love... Except the narrator :(

If youve listened to books by Emma Chase before, how does this one compare?

Tangled is still my favorite. In this series probably Sustained. This is more a 2nd chance romance.

Would you be willing to try another one of Deacon Lees performances?

NO...just no. He has so many voices and his female voice is actually less distracting then his normal narrative voice when he's not in character. When he portrays other male characters it's less shaky.. But when he's narrating the H...his voice is just whiney
