Beautiful Drangonfly

Ainsley Shay is a great writer, she writes the characters in a way that makes you love them and makes you pull for things to work out in their favor. At least that is how I felt reading this story. Usually I like reading when I am in a girls POV or alternating POV's but this one was strictly in Erik's head but I loved it. She made his character pop out and be awesome in this wonderful magical ride.

Erik has a special gift and it is a miraculous gift but it's taking a toll on him so off he is shipped away from the life he has only ever known in an attempt to have a normal life. He is counting the days until he can go back but along the way he meets all sorts of people, ones that change and threaten everything for him.

Erik is a character that you can't help but love he is kind to all people whether they are liked by the in crowd or not. He has a genuine caring spirit. He feels the need to help even when he can't. I just love the freshness of his spirit. They emphasize on the life a dragon fly and it is perfect in this story. It is a beautifully written story that takes what is unexplainable and turns it into something beautiful.

This book has it all, carnival ,freak show ,mystical things you wonder if its possible.....Erik thinks he's a freak, but he loves the life of a performer and he misses the carnival... When he meets a girl and falls for her he wants to be normal but he's torn....A very good read 5 star all the way

I really liked this story! Ainsley Shay will put you tight in the middle of a world of her making. The characters are well-built, the story is suitable for any age to read. This author is a great find! Highly recommended reading!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK!!!

If you've ever been in an abusive relationship (raises hand slowly) then this is a must read! If you just want to read a great book then again, thus is A must read for you.. I too was in an abusive relationship for 3 years, he cheated on me, gave me a VD as proof of it happening. He lied, he choked me many times to the point of almost passing out, he slammed my head on the window in his car, he physically and verbally assaulted me and as hard as it is to say and for anyone I told to understand he did rape me. His reasoning "I just wanted to see how it would feel to overpower someone. To see if I could really have that much control over u." I was 18 and stayed with.him from 17-20 yrs old. Then I was done, I had enough and left him, it wasn't easy at all. Then 3 months later I ended up with someone I graduated with, 2 weeks later we get engaged and on 9/24/14 we celebrated 20 yrs of a very happy marriage. This book brought me thru my journey even though the story itself is different. BRAVO Tara, it was a different type of book for you. I loved the entire story. It was better than I ever thought it would be. We both ended up with our princes.

Droning, whining, blah, blah, blah

Sounds like a totally self-involved teenager - not sure whether the story gets better, as the narrator bored me to sleep.

YUP, THIS IS ONE HOT LISTEN

For two years Finnely had been happily in love with her High School sweetheart Colin but the rat b'stard broke her heart with a mere 'it's not working out' note and that's when Jordan swooped in, claimed, possessed and married her. But 17 years later her dreams had turned to dust, leaving her empty and knowing things must change..... but not all change is good because along with it came distress, drama and danger.

This was an enjoyable, but frustrating, listen with good narration from dual POV's - there was numbness as a marriage ended, sizzling chemistry as two once young friends reconnected, reacquainted and rekindled. Now, as experienced adults, hot hot passion, dirty thoughts and talk ignite as they bonded and then heartbreak as their HEA all went up in smoke. But I said frustrating because there was a lot of each person's internal dialogue rather than joint dialogue which sadly lost it a star for me.

Worth a credit? It was an entertaining hot contemporary listen about a sexy fireman getting a second chance at love with no cliffhanger ending and yes, IMHO, a creditworthy listen.

Good but....

The story is good and sweet but it became redundant (how many times do we have to know that she made the right decision? We get it the first time).

Narration - Jason is good as always. Ashley is so-so. She talks so slow that I have to speed up during her narration. Her timing is off too with the tendency to be overdramatic.

overall awful

narrator made the main character sound weak and pathetic while she was described and confident and strong. the story line was so far fetched, I'd like to meet one person who had sex while there family was kidnapped for random. the surprise ending wasn't a surprise. really mad I wasted 11 hours on this book. I listened to most of it triple speed because the narrator spoke so slowly I wanted to scream.

A Rambling Story

What disappointed you about Hush?

It is a rambling story that can't decide if it is a romance or a mystery and does a poor job of coming to a conclusion about either.

What could Karen Robards have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Had a better editor, one who would have told her "Karen honey, you are rambling, you need to move the story along and please for the love of good writing stop calling attention to the mans erection! When you reference it once to the size of a log; there is absolutely no need to keep calling attention to it again and again because most people are paying attention and are looking for the scene that is going to give pay dirt!"

What didnt you like about Cassandra Campbells performance?

Her diction is very off putting and slow. She is not consistent with character voices.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Inpatients. I was disappointed, I have read other books by this author and liked them very much. This book is flat, very little to like about the characters and convoluted.

Any additional comments?

While I do not recommend this book, I do recommend the author. Her other books are good and have endearing likeable characters.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The tension at the beginning, with Naomi's family and the mysterious events happening around her really draw you in. It's a unique and well told story.

What does Emma Lysy bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?

She captured a range of emotions that added a lot of depth.

Oh my gosh

I loved all about the book there was nothing that I did not LOVE about the book

MUST READ!!

At first I wasn't sure if I was going to like this fantasy romance type book. It took me a couple chapters to warm up to it, but all I can say now is... Give me more! Naomi is a young girl who many can identify with, living in an abused neglected situation with her parents. She finds love fantastically unexpected. If you like romance, and you like a good book with amazing character, do yourself a favor and buy this book!! I can't wait to listen to more by this author!! I also have to give props to the narrator for keeping me in the moment and full of emotion just by the different voices and the way she makes it so easy to distinguish from one character to the next!

Loth did an excellent job keeping me interested

Nine times out of ten I would have rated this book a 2-star or lower. This is almost never my type of book. The teen angst, sudden magic ability, love triangle, surprise villain... all these thing usually add up to a big disappointment for me. But Loth did an excellent job keeping me interested despite all the reasons I could have had to hate it.

I think at least part of my enrapture with the book came from listening to Emma Lysy narrate the story. It never felt like someone was reading me a story; it felt like I was watching a movie. She did an excellent job portraying each character and their emotions.

Totally Titan

The Titan series is overloaded with testosterone and alpha male hotness. These men can save the world and still have time to seduce a woman and fall in love... always great to see a strong man fall. Sexy, suspenseful and fast-paced, this book brings the series to another level. And on audio, they're highly entertaining.

Really good when you read Sweet Girl first.

I really enjoyed the two books together.

I do not like books where the female character has emotional issues that are just dragged on and on! But, this female character has it going on. She bounces back from tragedy with full force! The fact the lead man in the story is equally strong and handsome is just a bonus. If you like action, romance and are looking for a happy ending, this is a good read.

Sweet Indeed

Great series and great book! Loved Cash's story and how he adapts to his long lost loves new life. Looking forward to the next book! This can be read as a standalone as it is one story with supporting characters but has a HEA.

I love this author!

This is book 3, but a stand alone listen. Here we get to hear more about Bishop and his past and present and all of it is about winning back the woman he loves.

Yes, this story jumped back and forth from present to past (A LOT) but it was easy to keep up with and had really great story lines in both timelines. I really like how this author writes and would download her next book without blinking!

Narration was great, worthy of a credit.

IT COULD HAVE BEEN A GREAT LISTEN BUT......

I was really really enjoying this book about a possessive bad boy and the love of his life a Tarot reading Fortune Teller/Writer and the nicely developing plot that switched back and forth from their failed romance years earlier to the present. Coupled with this the plot also had developers wanting to shut down their business, take over the town and develop it which took blackmail, bribes, murder and a couple of bumbling thugs which all led to a who, what and why mystery.

It was funny if a bit predictable, but there was quick witty conversations, a funny quirky and loveable Mother, two well meaning brothers, a swoon-worthy sexy Hero desperate to rekindle and protect what he thought was his, interesting secondary characters, an on/off romance and a few passionate sex scenes.

So yes, I was enjoying this....... right up to to the part when I suddenly noticed the CONSTANT use of the word "said" an example...... the Girl Scouts came last month Anthony said, look I said can't you secure the apartment without killing anyone, we could booby trap the landing Steve said hows that? Terrible I said, can't you just board up the doors, you're no fun Anthony said, I'm all funned out I said, at least tell me you've got your gun Steve said, sort of I said...... shit Steve said you've got to get it checked out, yeah and shoot it too Anthony said... Today Steve said, no way I said I've got other things to do, so have we Steve said but you don't see us whining about it, or Anthony said....

Completely unexpected & hair-raising turn

After reading the first two books about these exceptional men and world they created for others like them, I had zero inkling or foreshadowing of the turn this third and final book would take. Nor would I ever have expected the sheer breath-taking opening, the meeting of the two leads, nor the rollercoaster ride to the end.

I'm not going to give anything away so when you read it you'll be gobsmacked as I was. Its another book from this series that I will not soon forget. I'm a veteran reader in this genre, reading and listening to 400 books a year, so you will appreciate my delight in not anticipating any of the turns Rice took in this book. It saddens and perplexes me that this is billed as the final book of the series since there were so many other stories to be told. But we do get to visit in with the other fledgling couples from the first two books as well as see closure in some of the other characters stories in a most satisfying way.

One of the cool things about Rice is the good technical research she does compared to other top authors. All three of the female leads in these books are all research scientists and Rice will draw you in to disease etiology, vectors, transmission, and other epidemiological issues in a way that is engrossing but doesn't alienate or bore those of us non-medical types. Our female heros are uber feminine but strong, steadfast with no cracking under pressure, no screaming, swooning or other antics of old-fashioned romance. They are as much the heros as their swoon-worthy alpha dudes.

How's that for a refreshing change of pace!

The performance was very good. I really enjoyed Kaleo Griffith in Pamela Clare's I-team series, so it was wonderful to hear his honey-like mellifluous tones in this one. He's gotten much better at his military pronunciations too. Excellent pairing.

Read the series and definitely this book. Its excellent.

I loved the first two books in this trilogy and was so looking forward to this final book. Sadly, it was rather lackluster. It is a likeable book just not a loveable book.

Great series!

I am so glad I found this author and this captivating series. You can't put the books down. I immediately reach for the next book in the series. I especially appreciated not having to flip pages to get through explicit sex scenes. This book is all story and characters. No need for "sexual fillers"!!! Thank you Michele!!!

What a great continuation

This is book 4 in the Kandesky family saga. We learn more about the family and Maxie & Jean-Louis's relationship proceeds. Adventure and romance hand in hand. Very exciting and satisfying, indeed. It kept me turning pages as fast as I could read. I wanted to reach the end for the resolution but also wanted it to continue because I love these characters and don't want to say good-bye. Vampires are my favorite things to read about...and this new twist on the Vamp tales is fun, entertaining and modern.

I love that the Vampires run an empire of Entertainment Mags and TV shows.

Makes me wonder about entertainment Weekly and Access Hollywood....

This Was The Hardest of the Kandesky Series for Me to Read

What Maxie suffered at the hands of the evil Huzars infuriated me to the point I had to put the book down! It was only after reading later books in the series that I could pick this part of the story back up. I know that the problem was that I`d come to love the characters too much and couldn't stand to see Maxie abused. The characters in this series are as alive to me as the ones I write about, THAT is how effectively the series is written and the way it makes me feel...IT IS THE GREATEST SERIES I HAVE READ AND THIS MAY, FOR ME, HAVE BEEN THE BEST IF THE MOST EMOTIONALLY CHALLENGING OF THE BOOKS!

I really enjoyed this 5th book of the series and read all in the series. Am anxiously awaiting the next installment!

This story was barely okay. Narrator was good.

So this story was barely okay at best.

The main characters Olivia and Jackson could have been better together. I just had a hard time buying them as a real "in love" couple. There are some nicely written sex scenes so this book isn't rated G. Not erotica, just well written.

Olivia I found to be wishy washy quite a bit. I didn't really care how she acted in the fact that he took off when she was seventeen years old. Literally holding that against him. Seriously??? You were 17. Get over it! Why he constantly had to defend his actions 18 years later because he left was just annoying. Grow up and get to know him now but shut up whining that he is going to leave you again. Whatever!

Jackson and his special power thing was a bit cheesy to me. It started out with potential but then cheese. This Invictus group and meds he took and they way his "super powers" were written was just cheesy and stupid. And none of it made sense nor was it described or explained very well how he became this way. I like paranormal so this to me was really far fetched and not well written. This invictus organization could have been a good story line but it was not.

This serial killer was all over the place and the way he killed his victims was all different. It was all just really odd and kinda dumb.

All in all, I didn't really care much for this story to be honest. Too many eye rolling moments for me.

As for the narration, I think Sebastian Fields did a good job. The women sounded like women everyone had their own distinct voice, he had a very nice reading voice and read with emotion as called for. However, I will say the voice he used for our hero, Jackson could have been more manly.

I did get his book as a free read with my KU subscription and 1.99 for the audible, so glad for that. I wouldn't have wanted to pay any more than that.

Great book and AWESOME narration..

I was a little worried when I first started reading this book, afraid the killers descriptions of his kills would be too much for me. I like books about serial killers but I dont want to know how they kill their victims. Not to worry, there wasnt much gross stuff you have to read.

I was curious about Jack. The author made it sound like Jack was going to turn into something other than a human, like this was going to be a shifter book, but that didnt happen.
