Although this book has 2 bonus stories as the end, this review will only be on In the Arms of the Lion. I will post the reviews for the other bonus books on the books.

This book was probably a 2.5 stars for me.

Vanessa Wallace is a down on her lucky actress living in New York. Trying to find a job in between auditions she lucks out finding a caretaker job with a live in requirement. What she didn't expect was to be taking care of the most handsome man she has ever seen, she especially never expected the orders he gave her on her first night of work.

I have mixed feelings for this book. I liked it, but I was a bit disappointed because there wasn't much of a back story to Dean Flynn. He knows that he can shift to a lion, but he doesn't know why. Has he always been able to do it? His mother obviously knows about his other side, but where did it come from? Does shifters run in the family?

Do you see where I'm coming from? There is just one big gaping hole in the story where it would've been nice to get more information about Dean and his other half.

Really good

I liked the characters in the main story the bonuses were good too.... all story lines were interestingly good and fun to read

Everyone has to have a bit of darkness

I knew there was darkness coming when I left the last story. This story gets darker in the telling of Word Speakers and their Guardians. These stories are not stand alone, although the author does give you some backstory to give you a hint of what's going on it's better to read these stories in order so you know the characters, and how strange, crazy, delicious, and wonderful this world is.

I'm glad Dale is getting his story. Although I did not sense how dark he could get. The story that he starts reading due to a bargain with Leather Coat might not have been his best choice, but it is his hearts choice. That I believe. He was meant to meet Breena. And she's got a darkness all her own. In order to save their stories they are going to have to work together, harder than any other Guardian and Word Speaker team yet. But will their love bring them to the light? Or will they fall to the side of the dark?

I always growl at myself when I let these stories sit and I don't get to read them. I think I have an ulterior motive though, I don't want to leave this world that the author weaves with seemingly ease.

Love At Its Finest

Since I have followed and read this author her ability to captivate me with her novels still continues to do so with this one. since I did read the first one I was curious to see how this would continue, even more so that the dark side thinks it has one up. Dale is in a fight and time is running out and he must make a choice. He thinks he has already but he is being pulled in a different direction. He will be tested with a beauty truly captivating and one that calls to his soul. The other half per say that will match him in many ways but will the pairing of the two put them in the light or dark. She will keep you on your toes with these two with twists that will be unexpected but the battle will be more intense in my opinion. When the question is was the love real? You will be like a cheering section in a really good game that is rooting for the home team. Talk about steam though, be prepared to have lots of cool products handy or you could boil when you encounter them.

Enjoyable story, but...

I did enjoy the character development and the plot as well. HOWEVER, the book needs a serious proofreading. Most of the errors are aggravating but some were hilarious. Examples are "run some mouse through my hair," "holly s***!" "a sever lashing," and "peeked his arousal." I kid you not! I would like to read more by Ms. Mamolo but not until the errors are corrected.

Loved It

I picked this book out as a freebie from OHFB. What a great find! The story is well written, the characters are "characters" with interesting personalities and fascinating interpersonal dynamics. Very intriguing, I couldn't put it down. Once I finished, I promptly bought the other 3 books in the series and just finished the last one. Hopefully, there will be more soon??

Great story, grammar errors make it a very difficult read

The story and characters are fantastic, but the grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors make this story extremely difficult to read. I'm struggling mightily, and have almost put it aside a number of times. I am a voracious reader and get through a number of books in a week (sometimes in a day), and I am doubtful that I will continue with this series. Thus the 2 stars instead of more.

Enjoyable paranormal read

This book has good character and plot development. Though chapter endings/beginnings seemed a little choppy at first, once you got into the rhythm, it all made sense. Looking forward to book #2 of House of DeDe.

Great Idea, Could be better

The idea surround the story is riveting, It isnt often you see this side of the fantasy realm in a book. I would say the author could have spent more time developing the characters and the story and a little less time having the heroine (who is uneducated) fall into bed with every man she encountered.

A great blend of adventure, romance and paranormal

What did you love best about Blood and Illusion?

I enjoyed seeing the characters battle their demons (internal and external) on their quest for happiness and fulfillment. I liked how the enforcers found ways to work together with the witches they were sent to rescue, and how in the end, the characters found ways to move past their differences and past "offenses" as they battled evil. There were also a lot of unexpected twists and turns throughout the story.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I liked Isla - she was a strong woman who wasn't afraid to fight for what she believed in. She stood by her friends and didn't back down when she knew she could help. She didn't take the easy road, but also learned to accept help from others and open herself up to possibilities.

Which character as performed by Hollie Jackson was your favorite?

It's hard to pick one character. I enjoyed the voice she used for Aethelred, but also for Isla and Sam. She did a great job of using different voices for each of the characters, making them unique.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I would have loved to have listened to the story all in one sitting, but that's never really a possibility. I had read the story previously so didn't mind so much having to stop and take breaks.

Any additional comments?

I enjoyed the Coven Enforcers series...should definitely be read/listened to in order.

Isla and Sam's story did not disappoint!

This series just keeps getting better with every book. This is book #3 and I absolutely loved it. Isla and Sam meet when Sam and other coven enforcers arrive to save a group of witches who are pinned down by evil forces. The story is about their journey to safety and the immediate attraction between Isla and Sam. You also learn some interesting things about some of the characters from the first two books. The narration is awesome as always. I cannot wait for the next book!

A well written story with a side of Steamy!

I started with the first two free editions then HAD to finish the rest of the story. The saga is written in a way that you could stop after just 1 or 2 books and be ok without finishing the remaining... But you Won't want to! Each of the first 2 close without cliffhangers but knowing there was more to the story, I HAD to read it all! I like the ending, there is closure and a sense of peace as you part ways with the story. I enjoy the way the characters and the scenes are developed . All your senses are brought to life so you see, hear, smell, feel and taste the surroundings, characters and story as if you were Willow (main character). Very well written. My opinion is based on the story line and characters as I am not much on erotic romance (I know that's the genre but I came across the book and was intrigued to read it and I'm glad I did) All I can say about the erotic part is if that's what you're looking for you came to the right book/author! Steamy! Seriously steamy hot vampire sex.

I am a 40 year old mother of 4 and I highly recommend this saga.

I love Elizabeth St

I love Elizabeth St. John. She is a talented and an excellent writer. I read this book in two days. I couldn't put it down. So many twist and turns. Just when you think you know what's going to happen...she changes things. Love it!

This was the book (5 story bundle) I've read from this author.

This work does showcase her writing ability well. While I liked the story overall, I wasn't super enthused by towards the end of it. I'm definitely willing to read more by the author in the future.

TJ Richards exquisitely became Max Logan. This is a wonderful story about taking stock in your life and paying closer attention to those who love you for who you are. Don't color them with your misperceptions.

Thanks for a Fun Story

Like A Christmas Carol, this story reminds us all to be careful what we wish for and that life is short. A well crafted, entertaining tale, I very much enjoyed the narrator, too. Highly recommend.

A CHILLING & INTENSE GLIMPSE INTO DARKNESS

Phewee.. well the second offering in this series was definitely dark and it's certainly not for the faint of heart or for anyone looking for a feel good romance with a loveable hero. Because Dominic was a monster and he knew it and revelled in his cruel dark life by breaking-in and training female captives making them ready for auctions. But, as soon as he locked eyes with Gia his new captive, he knew she was going to be different.. however he didn't know then just how much her story would impact on his life and change the whole course of his future.

Gia had watched her brother be tortured, branded and then killed and she too was branded before being sent to a cabin in the woods where she would meet a monster with a skull mask on. He unceremoniously bathed her, spanked her and chained her to a cold worn out bed - a bed that had no sheets, a bed that was stained by its previous captives and that bed would be where the monster and Gia would become better acquainted. And, as her ownership brand was slowly revealed, it would turn out that Gia and Dominic had a lot in common, they were both dark, they both wanted revenge.. and answers too - but they could never have planned for what was waiting for them as their journey together unfolded.

Well I wanted something different and that's exactly what I got.. it was a dark raw journey of an anti-hero who saves a strong heroine and saves himself in the process. There was sex, passion and a story that would somehow semi-redeem a cold-blooded monster hero who'd emotionally been in a bad place for the last 7 years (since book 1). It was well written, intense, emotionally deep, had twists and was filled with chilling suspense - but the real hero was Michael Pauley whose narration was dramatic, on point and was just perfect for this book.

Worth a credit? Yes.. but you'd better be sure your nerves can handle it.

I am a huge fan of dark romance and suspense, and Natasha a knight brought both of these to us with Dominic's story.
