    Inspiring
I loved this book I found it totally inspiring. George has come a long way in his life and I would love to meet him someday and talk about his life and positive attitude. I totally get why he named all his children George. My hats off to you Mr. Foreman.
I am a fan of Mr Foreman
I think very highly of Mr Foreman
    Enjoyable and uplifting easy listening.
I really enjoyed listening to George reading this his story. He doesn't hide his own shortcomings in his younger years. He humbly and inspirationally tells it how it is. The story of his life is fascinating even if you're not a boxing fan. He seemlessly fits in wisdom and good advice without being in any way preaching or religious. I found this audio both uplifting, enjoyable and very easy to listen to. George Foreman is a great man and an inspiration that belief can overcome all obstacles. I can not recommend this audiobook highly enough. Thank you Audible I REALLY DID ENJOY THIS.
only an hour but tough to get through
i love Foreman and have seen him speak live. He was an inspiration. This book was however was just awful i am sorry to say.

    What is Beyond the Heartbreak?
Do you ever wonder why God allows bad things to happen to good people? Are you searching for the strength to continue living when all you feel is disappointment and loss? Do you feel betrayed by God? These are real issues for those suffering in this difficult life. Ed Underwood presents a deep and meaningful journey by telling his own story as he intermingles his experience (a continual struggle with Chronic Lymphoma) with the story of Lazarus in the Bible. He believes you should be honest with God because God knows what you think anyway. There was also some good advice about how to pray so your prayers will be answered. Although we have to remember that God sometimes says no even when you are really good about asking for what you want in a nice way. I'd recommend this book to anyone struggling with physical ailments.
    ~The Rebecca Review
For folks in despair and darkness . . .
I was recommended this book by someone who is actually in this book. I won't say his name for privacy reasons but this book was very timely. If you are a Christian or even a non Christian who is going through a severe season of struggle whether it be death of a loved one, loss of a career or even your own mortality, this book isn't a "do this and you will feel better" or "do this and GOD will make it right if you believe and give money." This isn't that type of book at all.
Pastor Ed takes you on a real journey of faith. Dealing with disappointment with GOD and with walking through pain and suffering. This isn't a "how to guide or fix it guide," this is a book of living out faith in the midst of long suffering crisis.
Please give it a read. I did and it has helped me grow.
    Thought provoking read
This book really made me think extra hard on the things he's was saying. Using the story of Martha, Mary and Lazarus put into perspective for me my feelings I've had of being let down by God.
There is relief from your pain
Extreme pain requires extreme prayers. If you have gone through great suffering are or are currently suffering like you never thought possible, it would be good for you to pick up Ed Underwood's thoughtful book. No book you read will undo what has happened to you, but you can learn to think about your tragedy differently. If you are a Christian, most important you can learn to pray about it differently. I know I did. Underwood's book has given me a key to a new way at looking at the loss of my child. I'm still in the healing stage, but the book has helped.
When God Breaks Your Heart is a study of the biblical story of two sisters, Martha and Mary, and their brother Lazarus, whom Jesus raised from the dead. Jesus knew Lazarus was dying but delayed his return to the siblings' hometown; therefore Lazarus died for lack of Jesus' healing touch. So Lazarus died, but God was glorified.

    Consult a shrink?
I found the title and the content to be different. I was less than happy to learn that the only way to move forward is with serious counseling, and tons of that. I expected to read about ways to move forward, not an ad for a shrink.
    Fabulous read
Awesome great story interesting historical story well worth the read. Highly recommend this book too

    A new slant
The author aproaches depression from a direction that I've never heard before. It makes a great deal of sense and I bleieve that anyone who actually applies the strategies included in the book will find their depression improving. I've listened to the book several times while driving, and felt the need to sit at a table and follow the instructions exactly. I plan to return to this book over and over again whenever I need it. The narrator was excellent. I highly recommend this book for anyone who struggles with depression or who has someone close to them with the problem.
    This is a keeper!!!
At first, I was very skeptical about this book; it seemed too simple for something very serious and complex. How wrong I was! "Beat Depression" will provide you with some simple suggestions that can improve your mood instantly in 100%!!! The listening was also very pleasant. I should tell you that the book is read by a Britanic native - because I am learning English in US, it was harder for me to understand it. Other than that, this book is awesome! Thanks, Audible.com!
    I didn't think I'd like this but...
Paul Vincent's audiobook delivers a lot of very helpful advice crammed in a small package. I've done some of the exercises and intend to do them all but I can tell this has made a significant difference for me. I heartily recommend it. (Despite the ghastly cover art.) Love the british lady reading it too by the way...
    Well worth the fee
Quite a good CD - not too complicated but you do need to have pen and paper to hand. Some very good ideas overall.
    Snake oil, anyone?
Write your problems down on a scrap of paper. Tear the paper into bits and flush it down the toilet. Ta DA! Your depression is cured. You're welcome!
I should have rated this book higher because I think it's going to become a cult favorite of mine. It is such incredible nonsense. And it's actually written in a sort of infomercial-ese that makes it sound even more like snake oil than it actually is.
Look in the mirror and imagine yourself happy.
Clap your hands together to increase your energy.
    Listen to some upbeat music.
    Eat right
    Exercise.
If any of those ideas have floored you with their insight, by all means, buy this book.
If your meds are kicking in and you want a good laugh, you might also enjoy it.
If, however, you're in a bad slump and looking for genuine hope, I wish you something infinitely better.

    Publisher's Summary:
Three seconds is all that stands between those who settle for "whatever" and those who insist on "whatever it takes".
Award-winning author and psychologist Dr. Les Parrott reveals six common impulses that sabotage greatness in our lives. We can unleash our full potential and excellence when we learn how to give our first impulses a second thought.
    Members Reviews:
    Great stories
Lots of content filled with anecdotal stories. Would have been good if it also included referenced evidence and statistics.
Excellent narrator that engages with the content.
    The chapters are:
    1. The power of thinking twice
    2. It takes 3 sec to embrace a good challenge
    3. It takes 3 sec to fuel your passion
    4. It takes 3 sec to own your piece of the pie
    5. It takes 3 sec to walk the extra mile
    6. It takes 3 sec to quit stewing and start doing
Conclusion - how to make your second impulse second nature
    Listen to it several times
Dr. Parrott's narration is great, very nice voice and inflection.
I have this on my iPod and have listened to this book several times over the last year. It helps to be reminded to take 3 seconds to refocus your thoughts.
    Shameless cliche
This is a smug and lazily put together series of
anecdotes and examples to support the idea of " 3 seconds " for which no intelligent analysis is offered. A book turned out among many by this author who apparently wants to sell his ideas in a very tired and formulaic way , with little insight added . A cheap excuse for real quality.
