Length: 7 hrs and 42 mins

Language: English

Release date: 04-19-10

Publisher: Podiobooks.com

Publisher's Summary:

Chett and Harry are two recently unemployed construction workers on their way to a weekend of beer, Southern Comfort, and frog gigging at their musty-rusted 1970s RV, parked at their favorite hunting camp, when they stumble on Bob, the mysterious, busty, burqa-clad, non-English speaking beauty just standing in the middle of nowhere on the side of dusty Nine Mile Cutoff in rural Bovina, Mississippi. Then all hell breaks loose.

Their favorite pond is missing. They're being chased by truck driving zombies, dirty cops, UFOs and other ne'er-do-wells. Someone stole Chett's jacked up Scottsdale four-by-four. Zombies are traipsing around their trailer, and crazy Uncle Crank is trying to feed them zombie chicken for dinner. Aided by a classic computer nerd, a crazy man wielding a frying pan, and a space babe who gets nekkid any time someone turns out the lights, follow Chett and Harry as they battle their way across the rural countryside and ultimately save the world.

Why is their pond missing, and why did the Dodge of Death spring from the muddy crater left in its center? Who is Bob and why is she so good with shotguns? Why are they being chased by two really skinny, pale, bald, goatee-clad wierdos? What is the dirty county sheriff hiding? And will Chett and Harry ever make it out alive?

Not your average zombie/alien book! Hilarious!

Would you consider the audio edition of Fried Green Zombies to be better than the print version?

Yes. The author did a great job doing the different character voices.

What did you like best about this story?

The dry humor. Unfortunately, I know people similiar to the characters in the story and it (the characterizatio) was dead on.

Have you listened to any of John Allens other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, but I can't wait for the next story.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

no

Any additional comments?

This wasn't your average zombie/alien book. At first, I didn't think I would like it. I fell asleep listening and woke up laughing, so I started it over and it was just too funny. The author broke away from the

Ridiculous - but semi amusing.

Ok, the story makes very little sense - and don't hold your breath thinking everything will be explained at the end. I was still scratching my head and wondering what I had listened to at the end of the story. Zombies, aliens and submersible vehicles? Even with the most talented writer, it would be difficult to tie these into a nice package. I don't think the author was serious about making sense though. If his intension was to write a brainless story about some silly subjects.....he succeeded. The dialog is amusing though and the silly plot kept me listening. Less about zombies and more about intergalactic villains. Ridiculous - but semi amusing.

rednecks and zombies

I enjoyed this audiobook from beginning to end funny at parts ...woooohooo zombies and beer

funny and fast zombie sci fi comedy

This book is great. the author/narrator has made this book spring to life or death I love it. There isn't a great mass of gore for zombie hard core fans but I am hooked. Its light hearted intelligent pop corn with a bounce along good quality plot and I can't wait for the next one.

Completely awful!

This has to be one of the worst audio books I've listened to in a long time.

Tolles Buch!

"Wodehouse is the funniest writer - that is, the most resourceful and unflagging deliverer of fun - that the human race, a glum crowd, has yet produced." (The New Yorker)

Gloriously English

I am the wife of a golfer of 30 years experience and enjoyed these stories considerably although some of the golf language is very dated.

I love the subtlety and quaintness of Wodehouse and the wonderful accent of the narrator.

The length of the stories was convenient for listening to one at a time.

Most of all I love the 'Englishness' of these stories.

Any old or young golfer or observer of the game should get a good giggle or two out of this collection.

Captivating and Beautiful.

What made the experience of listening to Toccata Obbligato - Serenading Kyra (Out of the Box) the most enjoyable?

The way Zachary Liebenstein brought the characters to life.

His portrayal of each character throughout this story is simply amazing.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked the fact that it comes across like a real possibility. The realism of how the relationship between Todd and Kyra developed. It was tested over and over again, like real life, with real drama.

Which scene was your favorite?

When Todd sings "Fairytale Man" to Kyra..... this was so emotional on so many levels because it was born from a need to heal, a need to be forgiven and most of all, the need to love and be loved.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I teared up during the entire scene at grandma's house when Todd found her ring, the picture, and how he heard her words.

When Kyra arrived and Todd got down on one knee, I was just as happy as Kyra. And, yes, I shed a few tears too!

Any additional comments?

This is a quick listen, but don't let that fool you. There is so much going on constantly, it's a true emotional and soul deep experience.

Wow, it's even better in audio

OMG! He actually sings her his love song in this audio!

I had already read the book previously, but this was a thousand times better and NO eyestrain! I love this story of mismatched lovers. The language is a bit shocking at first, but he's a rocker.

Fortunately, the more time he spends with his new girlfriend, the tamer he becomes. But nothing is easy between the unlikely couple.

Loved it!

It's a battle of wills that I might just lose. I know the world needs one more opportunity to see cute kittens dangling from Christmas trees, but LMIP insists I should be baring my soul, pouring out my heart, and giving away my innermost secrets.

Let the battle commence.

Single Wide Female #2

This book is a cute, fast reader. I love it.

A good quick read in a great series

'Start a Blog' is the second book in a good series. I just wished it was longer. Sam seems to be getting stronger as she finds who she wants to be. I'm enjoying her trip through her Bucket List. And Max's friendship with Sam is becoming interesting. I look forward to reading more.

Love it

I love this book and always look forward to reading the rest of the series. This book covers a lot of the insecurities that many women face about their bodies. To feel so connected with a character is phenomenal. Thank you!

Five Stars

A fun read, but start with the first book in the series.

Title: We Did Everything Wrong

Author: C.V. Hunt

Narrator: Scott Servheen

Format: Unabridged

Length: 4 hrs and 16 mins

Language: English

Release date: 11-28-16

Publisher: C.V. Hunt

Ratings: 5 of 5 out of 4 votes

Genres: Fiction, Humor

Publisher's Summary:

Abraham Koyfman is a widower of nine months. He works from home selling subliminal self-help tapes for a questionable doctor he found in an ad in the back of a magazine. His meager retirement is enough now that he's alone and Abraham is ready to quit his job - a task proving to be difficult due to the company's tactics. The combination of grief and the lack of empathy from his adult children have him ready to quit life, also. On the day he reaches the breaking point his friend Horace pays an unexpected visit with his new girlfriend. Horace's remedy for Abraham's plight is to party hard, act juvenile, and take a road trip to confront the doctor in charge of the work from home scam. But will an insufferable friend, a bad case of misanthropy, and the absurdity of modern technology and its sociocultural impact make Abraham's situation better?

Members Reviews:

A grumpy old man buddy comedy, CV Hunt style.

A grumpy old man buddy comedy that would make Walter Matthau blush. While this story is funny it also has the trademark darkness and misanthropy that I have come to know and love in Hunt's books. This book is a pretty significant deviation from her last one, Ritualistic Human Sacrifice, which was an insane horror novel. We Did Everything Wrong is definitely a testament to Hunt's literary versatility. There are scenes in the book where I was actually laughing out loud. Also, I listened to the audiobook version and Scott Serveen do a great job bringing the comedic dialog to life but also captures Abe's frustration and despair.

The story opens up with Abe, the narrator, planning to commit suicide by overdosing on sleeping pills because he cannot get over the death of his wife. His kids don't visit and he has just completely given up. When he is about to go through with the deed, he gets a call from his obnoxious (and hilarious) friend Horace. Horace comes to his house drunk, with his new girlfriend and they end up drawing Abe into their antics.

If you are a fan of Hunt's previous work then you will definitely enjoy We Did Everything Wrong.
