Diese war die Frage, die die Kriminalschriftsteller, Knud Meister und Carlo Andersen, stellten, als sie mit der Jan-Reihe anfingen. 70 Jahre später beweist der Erfolg der Jan-Reihe das Gelingen. Die Reihe zählt mehr als 80 Bücher - 33 in deutscher Übersetzung. In den Romanen geht es um den 14- bis 20-jährigen Jan Helmer und seine Freunde, die in allerlei Abenteuer verwickelt werden.

Jan ist der Sohn eines Kopenhagener Kriminalkommissars, dem sein Vater regelmäßig von seinem Beruf erzählt, um ihn zu zeigen, dass Mut, kühle Überlegung und restloser Einsatz der ganzen Person vonnöten sind, um dem Kampf mit einem Verbrecher aufzunehmen. Jan kennt keinen anderen Gedanken, als später einmal den gleichen Beruf wie sein Vater auszuüben. Natürlich ergreift er jede Gelegenheit, sich im Kleinen als "Detektiv" zu erproben.

Interesting story

The concept that the water transports to another world was really cool. Especially the extremely unique curse that the tribes people faced. I also really liked the idea presented about Godin. The story ends nicely but most definitely suggests there are more books to come (not sure if already published).

As for presentation the reader did a good job however there were sometimes words mispronounced (or maybe regional dialect differences?) as well as pauses that seemed unnatural for fluid speech but didn't really distract too much from the story.

I liked the story when it got going but it's quite wordy unnecessarily at points. I wouldn't read another audiobook by the same author as I felt I had to persevere to get into the story
