    A wonderful message!
If you could sum up Sisters of the Flame in three words, what would they be?
    Comforting, guiding, enlightening.
What other book might you compare Sisters of the Flame to and why?
It is the second book in a series, following "A Teacher Appears" and may be comparable to other books that share chaneling sessions of enlightened masters.
Have you listened to any of the narratorss other performances before? How does this one compare?
In the first book, the author was the narrator, and I did prefer that, but the narrator for this book sounded closely enough like Lori Toye that I soon forgot it was not her speaking and did not detract in any way from the story. It was a very well done performance, although I have not listened to anything else by this particular narrator.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Oh gee, I don't know. I guess something like "The Masters Speak!" Tag lines are so hokey. This book is very genuine.
    Any additional comments?
This is a great read for those who are spiritually seeking! It will take you deep into yourself and help you look at your habits and lifestyle, so be prepared and open to possibly make changes going into it, and you will reap many benefits here!
    Reigniting the Flame
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would definitely recommend this audiobook to family and friends because it contains a wealth of information of the coming shift in polarity and the spiritual changes that will affect life on earth.

Kategorien: Religion & Spirituality, Religious Thought

    Excellent book
Who has not questioned her faith or doubted at some time. This is an honest look by the author and how prayer is vital to overcoming along with the word of God.
Thank you for allowing me to review this book.
Good Companion to 21 Days of Faith Challenge
This is a nice companion to the author's 21 Days of Faith Challenge. The author offers prayers based on the stories of people who showed exemplary faith or even struggled with faith. Each prayer is followed by the scripture passage from which the story comes and other pertinent scriptures. I recommend this book for those who are taking the 21 Days of Faith Challenge or those who just want to pray through the scriptures.
    Great book
Very helpful in starting a prayer full life using scripture. I enjoyed reading the prayers and scriptures that inspired the prayer. I would recommend to anyone having problems in their prayer life. We all get stuck in our prayers at times, the book will help you renew your thoughts to give you more meaningful prayers.

    A Compilation of Excerpts
If you listen to enough of the truly classic and classical works found on Audible, it's easy to take for granted the narrators that understand how to deliver a performance that Medieval mysticism demands... until you listen to this guy. Then you wish you had one of those professionals. Any one of them would do. My very first thought on hearing Ray Cole's delivery was, "Jeez, I can podcast better than this." It's a clumsy reading, devoid of any understanding, depth, or flow, sort of like if you hand a copy of Shakespeare to an overly enthusiastic teenager trying to cover his lamentable performance skills. It was so distracting, I had to start the book over once I got a handle on how the book was presented. Thank heaven (no pun intended) that I'm already immersed in Medieval thought and angelology, otherwise I'd have stayed lost right at the outset.
And that brings me to the book itself. If you're looking for the eye-rolling comedy provided ad nauseum by self-proclaimed mediums and new age woo-woo about fluffy winged supermodels (like the one on the book's cover), this is not your book. I was surprised too, given a list of the author's other publications, but sometimes you never can tell from a publishing blurb. If, however, you're a serious student of angelology and all that implies, this one's actually worth looking into, but with caveats. Let me explain.
This is likely not a book for the novice or the casual enthusiast, unless that person is ready to hit the ground running. The author assumes that the reader either has a considerable amount of religious scholarship, a private esoteric reference library, and/or no problem catching up. This book is a deceptively small, eye-opening tome of just how seriously deep the subject of angelology can be. In a nutshell, this is a collection of excerpts taken from first, second, and even third-hand sources about mysticism, be it Christian, Rabbinic, Hermetic, or other. Ordinarily that would be a good thing, however there is little structure for it. It's like reading a researcher's notes, and I suspect that's exactly what it is. The author may only be a compiler. The information is largely just launched at you, the scholarly equivalent of a food fight or castle siege. It's on you to make sense of the chaos. It dives right in, with few points of grounding, explanation, or perspective. It does say in the description of the book that it "presents information from sacred texts about the most significant angels," but it doesn't go much further than that. If you don't know what those texts are, the references are meaningless up front. These texts are difficult enough for the novice to read, let alone to put together into some kind of comprehensible format.

  • One World Audiobook by John C. Polkinghorne

    Title: One World
Subtitle: The Interaction of Science and Theology
    Author: John C. Polkinghorne
    Narrator: James Robert Killavey
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 5 hrs and 13 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 05-03-13
    Publisher: University Press Audiobooks
Ratings: 4.5 of 5 out of 38 votes
Genres: Religion & Spirituality, Religious Thought
    Publisher's Summary:
This title focuses on Polkinghorne's theory that science and religion are two aspects of the same world.
Both science and religion explore aspects of reality, providing "a basis for their mutual interaction as they present their different perspectives onto the one world of existent reality," Polkinghorne argues. In One World he develops his thesis through an examination of the nature of science, the nature of the physical world, the character of theology, and the modes of thought in science and theology. He identifies "points of interaction" and points of potential conflict between science and religion. Along the way, he discusses creation, determinism, prayer, miracles, and future life, and he explains his rejection of scientific reductionism and his defense of natural theology.
The book is published by Templeton Press.
    Critic Reviews:
"One World is a very satisfying treatment of the fundamental issues affecting a fruitful interaction between two disciplines often presumed at odds." (
    Catholic Books Review)
    Members Reviews:
Excellent book - much food for thought
What did you love best about One World?
Very different perspective from the usual science bashing of religion written by someone who is both a scientist and a priest. Throughout the book he shows how the methodologies of science and of theology are actually not opposed to each other. He also suggests some ways the two disciplines can help each each other to understand this world and, perhaps, the next.
Which character as performed by James Robert Killavey was your favorite?
Non-fiction so no characters but the reader did an excellent job of elucidating some complex ideas. Made them a lot easier to understand than just staring at the print.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No....deep stuff here...needs to be taken in small doses.
    Any additional comments?
I wish I could get my son to listen to this. He's always "throwing" science at me when we discuss religion. Can't seem to understand that, years from now, some of what we take as "hard science" may be found to be completely in error.
    Difficult stuff made easy
I have learned a lot from this great and knowledgeable author. A good summary of modern physics and theology.
    Interesting book; mediocre narration.
    Any additional comments?
Polkinghorne writes well, and this is a good overview and an interesting take on the relationship between theology and science. Anyone with a philosophical bent will be left wanting more explanation and argument for the key assertions, but such argument would have turned it into a longer and more difficult book.
The narration was disappointing--a clipped and odd reading style that I found annoying. And I cringed every time the narrator read the words "nucleus" or "nuclear", since he mispronounced them. The narrator also did not make it easy to ascertain the difference between quotes and the main text, though that is a common problem in non-fiction texts.
    Interesting subject matter, poor narration.
I eventually made it through the entire book; however, there were many times when I wanted to quit due to poor narration. If you're interested in reading this book, I would strongly recommend the print version, not the audio book.

    So much God
What disappointed you about Divine Intuition?
So much God in this. I couldn't get past that. I've read / listened to many other books on intution and the religious aspect wasn't so strong in others. Didn't work for me. Also seemed to be more memoir than how to.
Has Divine Intuition turned you off from other books in this genre?
    No.
Would you be willing to try another one of Lynn Robinsons performances?
    No.
    A divine gift.
Loved every chapter and techniques given after every chapter. Book was exactly what I needed and will re-read a few times. Thank you Lynn!

What did you love best about Divine Intuition?
Lynn touches upon subjects we all struggle with - knowing whether it's intuition we're getting, or if it's anxiety, or wishful thinking... She clarifies how to identify each, and gives practical examples. I loved her voice also!

    Publisher's Summary:
Dr. Hawkins explains that everything is spontaneously being what it is and that nothing is causing anything. He talks about the pathway of negation and the Void, and goes into detail about karmic inheritance and how it affects our lives. Of great benefit is the information he supplies about relationships and the levels upon which they may exist, including the qualities of horizontal and vertical relationships (i.e., alignment vs. involvement). He goes into detail about the ego, how it loves suffering, loss, hatred, and even grieving, and the juice it gets out of that. We learn why it is so difficult to get out of that negativity and addiction to it. He then states that we have only one problem preventing us from reaching enlightenment and talks about the tenacity of the ego and why it is so hard to transcend it.
Dr. Hawkins informs us about guilt, hate, and anxiety and that people hold on to those emotions because of the payoff. He states that there is really only one way out of the hold the ego has on us. He addresses humility, using kinesiology to determine what makes us go weak and to avoid it.
At the end of the lecture, he answers questions from the audience regarding challenges that come up on the spiritual path, karmic blockages, the availability of spiritual growth opportunities, suffering to achieve spiritual growth, and kinesiology.

What did you love best about Devotional Nonduality Intensive: Alignment?
Wow, this exceeded all of my expectations. I will listen to Dr. Hawkins over and over again. This is the kind of devotional/spiritual shock treatment I adore.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Devotional Nonduality Intensive: Alignment?
The discussion of the juice that fuels the ego, and the whole idea that society when given a choice would never, less than 4/10 of one percent would select serenity over the egoic cravings for activity, violence, lust etc., etc.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
    The fast path to enlightenment.

"Know thou, of a truth, these great oppressions that have befallen the world are preparing it for the advent of the Most Great Justice." (Bahá'u'lláh)
The Advent of Divine Justice is Shoghi Effendi's gift to the North American believers. In it, Shoghi Effendi outlines our destiny and mission while focusing our attention on the challenges, opportunities, and requisites for success in our endeavors to serve the Cause of Baha'u'lláh. He pays particular attention to the specific ills afflicting our community which must be conquered through "moral rectitude", "complete freedom from prejudice", and observance of "absolute chastity".
What is of unique significance is how Shoghi Effendi devotes more than half of the entire address to the subject of teaching. He outlines the "spiritual obligation" placed before every believer "to make of the mandate of teaching...the all pervading concern" of their lives. Serving both as a warning signal and a call to action, The Advent of Divine Justice is the guide for any believer treading the path of service.
