Love it

The only thing I hate about this book is that IT'S NOT FINAL YET! So for those who had finished cell 7 & were hoping to seek for the ending in this one- no you will NOT find it.

Second book in a fantastic series!

As I really enjoyed Cell 7 back in October 2016 and had read there was to be a follow up book by the name of Day 7 I had been excitedly awaiting it. I found Cell 7 to be really different to the other dystopian books out at the moment. In fact the society is quite futuristic but totally believable that there is a possibility that our own world could one day have a court and prison like the one featured in this book series. I'm eager to know where the book will pick up, where is Martha now? Can anyone help Isaac? Will Isaac be denied the one small concession of a human counselor or will he be one of the first to have to talk to a fully computerised counselor?

The cover is as eye-catching as Cell 7, though this time the colour is green. In the centre of the "eye" or maybe a "camera lens" there is a tree. . . could that tree be a reference to the tree Martha used to try to catch a glimpse of during her incarceration. Maybe the tree represents the growth of something? Perhaps a banding together of those against this present justice system.

There is a brief prologue which picks up right where Cell 7 left off. Martha is being escorted from the studios after been let out of her cell. There's photographers flashing cameras and people taking pictures on their mobile phones and all Martha wants is for them to leave her alone to get her breath as she is naturally still stunned at being freed. She frantically grips the ring that Isaac gave her. Martha is now scared that Isaac will be given the death sentence and if that happens Martha feels part of her will die along with him too.

The TV programme set up is still fairly similar to that in Cell 7. They use the same "Buzz for Justice" eye logo. The audience seats are as usual full to capacity already. There is a slightly raised witness box as well as an area for three panelists, each with their own large blue buzzer in front of them.

The first offender is brought in, Gus Evans, who was previously given a second chance. Gus has only been free for 7 days! Kristina the presenter in her perfect grey pin stripe suit and pale blue blouse introduces Gus, then shows some CCTV footage that firstly shows him holding a banner saying "one person, one vote" then it shows the demonstration getting out of control and shows Gus with his hands on an overturned car.

Fun and fast!

I might have passed on this offer, but when I saw the length, I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did! It is short & sassy, and well written from a teen's perspective. And that's ok - we need to stay in touch with our inner teen. It seemed to be what I hope is a very realistic style of actions, events and conversation. Not stilted and fake, and not full of teen code words that us "old folks" can't understand, and no cussing. Proper respect for parents and authority, but you could see it was a loving respect with a bit of sass. I would be happy to have Gena and her friends to hang out with!

The weird looking sun glasses that called to Gena in the store, and she had to add them to her collection. They began showing her 'visions' she doesn't understand, but they do scare her. The worst one is the vision of their kitchen, with blood dripping down the walls! Just the right amount of suspense and a well styled story will keep you reading. Recommended for about anyone. A good, solid 4 star +

A fun, quirky story

What a fun little read. I loved the sassy heroine. Her dialogue was great and her relationship with her friends was a neat facet of the story I adored how she interacted with her dad. They were so cute and witty.

A quick read but lessons are learned and the heroine does grow in her maturity. A great teen story.

Good story

I really enjoyed this novella. It was well written and I liked the characters. I wish there were books like this when I was a teen. I will definitely consider reading more books from this author.

I liked this story! This writer seems to really know how teenage girls behave. It was funny and touching as well. Good read!

For young people.

A girl buys a pair of unusual sunglasses that show her the future. She sees visions and then tries to stop the trouble with limited success. Too much teenager action for me.
