Its the near future, and thanks to a perfect storm of reckless banking practices, hyperinflation, a stock market gone mad, and the negligence of our elected officials, the entire social, political, and economic infrastructure of America has collapsed. Chaos reigns in the streets, medical treatment is no longer available, and a silent coup has placed a dangerous group of men at the helm of a false government.
Americas fate is in the hands of those few individuals who have the survival skills, the faith, and the forethought to return this country to the state its founding fathers intended.

Buy the first two not this one
I wish they would have told me that this was just a crapy version of cliff notes to the first two books. My guess is Mr. Rawles needed an addition to his bunker so he pasted and clipped his way to this novel. Really you could not have any more detail? Why would you re-hash so much from the first two? Because it was already written and easy to do. Mr. Rawles you are better then that.
For the first time reader I will say buy the first two books they were OK, but then just re-read the first two and you have the third. I feel bad for his publisher he got hosed on the thrid book on the contract.
Love Patriots Hate this book HORRIBLE READER
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
First of all Patriots is one of my favorite books, and I read Rawles blog every day. Having said that...Survivors and Founders have been a real disappointment. The writing in this last book Founders was sub-par and the Narrator made it so much worse. His girl voice is laughable and I don't know how Phil Gigante has a job narrating books. By the way I lissen to about 5 books every month and have been for the last 3 years.....I know good narrators and this one sucks. As of right now I am 3/4 through the book and I will finish it because those credits will not be wasted... but yes this was a waste of a credit! I am so sorry to say this James but Really? who is your editor because they need to be fired.
Ok onto the story or lack thereof.....So many wasted pages of non interesting religious topics and half hearted hollow love stories, has made the book tedious to lissen to...and to rehash old stories from other books and use precious pages of your new book is such a waste. I guess what I was expecting from the title "Founders" was that I wanted a continuation of the first book...or at-least the same story from a different perspective. The book is mainly the boring parts of Patriots rehashed.
I am sorry James but I will have to pass on your next book until it is recommended to me by someone else who wants to risk wasting a credit.
    Aloha and Mahalo
    Don't waste your Credit!
    Any additional comments?
I enjoyed the first two books, but this installment was little more then a rehash of the first two. It reminded me of the 'B' Sci-Fi and Fantasy movies from the '80's....it got to the point where directors would just cut in fight scenes from other sci-fi movies they had done in the past.
I find it really irritating when an author builds up your trust on the first two books so that you will buy the third regardless if they put any effort into it or not.

    Genres: Fiction, Contemporary
    Publisher's Summary:
That skinny Indian teenager has that mysterious something that comes along once a generation. He is one of those rare chefs who is simply born. He is an artist.
And so begins the rise of Hassan Haji, the unlikely gourmand who recounts his lifes journey in this charming audiobook. Lively and brimming with the colors, flavors, and scents of the kitchen, The Hundred-Foot Journey is a succulent treat about family, nationality, and the mysteries of good taste.
Born above his grandfathers modest restaurant in Mumbai, Hassan first experienced life through intoxicating whiffs of spicy fish curry, trips to the local markets, and gourmet outings with his mother. But when tragedy pushes the family out of India, they console themselves by eating their way around the world, eventually settling in Lumière, a small village in the French Alps.
The boisterous Haji family takes Lumière by storm. They open an inexpensive Indian café opposite an esteemed French restaurant - that of the famous chef Madame Mallory - and infuse the sleepy town with the spices of India, transforming the lives of its eccentric villagers and infuriating their celebrated neighbor. Only after Madame Mallory wages culinary war with the immigrant family does she finally agree to mentor young Hassan, leading him to Paris, the launch of his own restaurant, and a slew of new adventures.
The Hundred-Foot Journey is about how the hundred-foot distance between a new Indian kitchen and a traditional French one can represent the gulf between different cultures and desires. A testament to the inevitability of destiny, this is a fable for the ages - charming, endearing, and a joy to listen to.
Richard C. Morais, author of The Hundred-Foot Journey, is a contributing editor at Barrons in New York. An American raised in Switzerland, he was stationed in London for seventeen years, where he was Forbes European bureau chief.

Great details & writing in a flawed story
The writing of this book is beautiful. The style is almost poetic without being tedious. The descriptions of smells and facial expressions and room decor and cooking techniques are so specific yet so well done that it really takes you there. I can picture the table in the front of Haji's restaurant and the smells as he walks by street vendors.
This story is driven by food and cooking. If you are a fan of cooking and/or the cooking channel on tv, you'll love this book.

    Slow moving
What did you like best about Sea Change? What did you like least?
What I liked most is that the story moved back and forth from present time to the 18th century. I actually found the the 18th century story and characters to be much more interesting. The characters in this time period, Pamela and her sister Georgina were interesting and better developed compared to the present day characters of Matthew and Eva. They were pretty boring.I didn't get their romance and Eva, the female protagonist was flat, and one-dimensional.
Would you be willing to try another book from Karen White? Why or why not?
Yes, I've listened to several Karen White books and I think she is an amazing writer. I really thought I was going to love this audio book. But it was slow moving and the modern day characters were so boring and vacuous. Couple that with really bad narration for Eva's character and it was a ho-hum listen. This book is probably stronger in print.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of the narrators?
Khristine Hvam would have brought some life to Eva's character and someone with her range would have brought the whole story together. Eva was supposed to be in her early 30's but she sounded like she was in her 60's. It was hard to buy that this character was young and It was hard to listen to this story at times.
good read - performance could have been better
Would you consider the audio edition of Sea Change to be better than the print version?
I was disappointed with the part of Eva - she came across too old - Eva was 35, sounded 55
Karen White Books are always awesome....
Sea Change was great ! I listen to all of Karen White books! Ava, in the story, finds out about her past and this book kept me on the edge of my seat! I couldn't wait to go driving and listen to chapter after chapter! Recommend this book!
    Dont waste your money
Ive listened to other books by this author, so I thought this one would be good. I thought wrong.
Terribly boring. I just couldnt get past the first 10 chapters. The story drags on & the reader reads in short bursts that all sound the same. Not worth the credit I used on it.
I just could not finish this book
I just could not finish it!
The narrator depresses me. She has a voice most unloveable. The timing of the delivery of lines is very distracting. The Story is also SLOOoow.

The author of five blockbuster novels, Emily Giffin delivers an unforgettable story of two women, the families that make them who they are, and the longing, loyalty, and love that binds them together.
Marian Caldwell is a 36-year-old television producer, living her dream in New York City. With a fulfilling career and satisfying relationship, she has convinced everyone, including herself, that her life is just as she wants it to be. But one night, Marian answers a knock on the door ... only to find Kirby Rose, an 18-year-old girl with a key to a past that Marian thought she had sealed off forever. From the moment Kirby appears on her doorstep, Marians perfectly constructed world - and her very identity - will be shaken to its core, resurrecting ghosts and memories of a passionate young love affair that threaten everything that has come to define her.
For the precocious and determined Kirby, the encounter will spur a process of discovery that ushers her across the threshold of adulthood, forcing her to re-evaluate her family and future in a wise and bittersweet light. Lovely Book
What made the experience of listening to Where We Belong the most enjoyable?
Very enjoyable book touching on many emotional topics that managed to put a lump in my throat more than once. It was a feel good story and although I found parts predictable, it was still just the kind of story I was in the mood for hearing. I loved the narrator's voice and she did a tremendous job with the various roles.
    Compelling, evocative, humorously delicious listen
Emily Giffin is that rare writer whose craft is continually refined with each book. I've enjoyed all her novels, but this one is the most developed, well researched yet. She paints such a gutsy, frank look at adoption, relationships and family against the hollow, plastic reality of the television industry. Evocative, heart wrenching, and simultaneously warming, Where We Belong is a thoroughly engaging tale with a fine narration by Orlagh Cassidy.
    fantastic find!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
This book was definitely worth listening to. I've read and listened to all of Emily Giffin's books and this is easily my favorite. The story is so grripping you don't want to stop listening!
What does Orlagh Cassidy bring to the story that you wouldnt experience if you just read the book?
The narrator was perfect for this story.
    Loved it!
I needed something light and this book did it for me. Very well written and the characters come to life! From the get go, I enjoyed and looked forward to my time with these
    characters. Thanks
    Pretty good, but missing something...
    Any additional comments?
This is a heartwarming story from Giffin and if you like her past books, then you're likely to enjoy this, as well. It's well read by Orlagh Cassidy and the story has a good flow, but I did feel like it was missing something.....some meat, if you will. It was all a little too good to be true and just when you thought she would really delve into a character or relationship, she moved on to the next thing.

    Publisher's Summary:
An engaging tale full of warmth and wisdom, The Quilters Apprentice is the first novel in best-selling author Jennifer Chiaverinis Elm Creek Quilts series. Sarah McClure takes a job helping elderly Sylvia Compson prepare her family estate for sale. Sylvia, a master quilter, agrees to share the tricks of the trade with Sarah. As the two women grow close, Sylvia shares her familys tragic past, compelling Sarah to look at her own life more closely.
    Members Reviews:
    A Mixed Bag
While I finished the book, the story was slow and only mildly interesting. It was a struggle to finish, but I neither liked nor hated it. The narrator was good, and created a large variety of voices.
This book is about a woman that is temporarily employed to clean up a mansion. She begins to learn quilting from the owner, and eventually learns about the owner and her family's past.
I liked the realistic quality of the human interactions and conflict. That being said, I found the main character's low self esteem and lack of confidence to be grating, sometimes. She's supposed to be older than I am, but her spineless moments seem better suited to a teenager with little experience in the real world. Also, there were times when a character wouldn't make a logical jump, but they had all the information necessary to make it. There is nothing more frustrating than a writer that makes her characters slow on the uptake. Oh, and the men in the story are all flat, two-dimensional characters--even Sarah's husband and Sylvia's "wild" brother!
I think I enjoyed the end more because it meant I was finished with the book than because it actually satisfied me. Everything came together too neatly, like a fairy tale, and all the flaws that made the people realistic before the last two chapters suddenly disappeared or were resolved in a day--including 50 years of bitter animosity.
Altogether, I only recommend this if you really like quilting and repressed people, or quaint stories with strong morals and a PG-rating, and not a lot of introspection, deep or otherwise. If you have never quilted, expect your eyes to glaze over when they discuss technique--which is not too often, thankfully.
Beautiful patchwork of memories and quilts
This one started out a little slow for me. But it quickly picked up. I also wasn't fond of the narration of the voice of Sarah's husband. Thankfully there wasn't too much of that. The story itself was absolutely wonderful, spanning more than 50 years, from before WWI until the present time. The telling of how two sisters learned to quilt and the sibling rivalry that existed between them from the beginning touched me. At first, I thought I wouldn't be interested in continuing this series because of the slow beginning and the male voice narration. But after the first half hour, I was hooked. This series is better than the other similar series that I've read, dealing honestly with the brokenness and pain that families suffer, and the mistakes made early in life that often haunt us decades later. I'm a quilter myself, but most women with family values would enjoy this book.
    A Hallamark/Lifetime Story
This is a simplistic story that would play well on the Lifetime Channel. Most of the characters were underdeveloped.

    Critic Reviews:
No one writes relationships as well as Ms. Roberts, with the subtleties and quirkiness of the give-and-take of friendship and romance. (
    Fresh Fiction)
    Members Reviews:
    Don't waste your money
Although the unabridged version of this story had too much emphasis on remodeling and building of the Inn (boring) this shorter version just didn't work. The story was disjointed and didn't make sense. Stick to the the unabridged version and just fast-forward through the boring parts.
    dont bother
What would have made The Last Boyfriend better?
a bit of depth or a better narrator, sorry.
Would you ever listen to anything by Nora Roberts again?
yes, I truly love NR and am just disappointed by this series because combining the 3 would have made better sense story wise and dollar wise.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of MacLeod Andrews?
    dont really follow narrators much
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
    na
    Lovely it!
Would you consider the audio edition of The Last Boyfriend to be better than the print version?
I haven't read the print version but truly enjoyed the audio.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Avery was my favorite character as she was so real.
    Which scene was your favorite?
    Too many to name one.
    Any additional comments?
A very pleasant listen during my long commute to work and back!
    Where's the story?
This is more of a casual meandering through a family's idyllic lives. At one point I knew I had an audio book that was incomplete, but for the life of me I couldn't remember what it was. As hard as I tried, I could recall nothing. Once I began listening again, it came back to me, but that's not much of a recommendation, is it? The complete lack of tension in the rather non-existent story line renders it more of a meditative diversion than a dynamic story with a plot. The narrator did a commendable job and his delivery fit comfortably within the story. If I had it to do over again, I would not purchase this book but neither would I cry if I was forced to listen to it again. I believe that would be called, "damned by faint praise." Sorry, that's the best I can offer!

From New York Times best-selling author Kimberla Lawson Roby comes the ninth installment in her award-winning Reverend Curtis Black series.
It's been months since Reverend Curtis learned that his wife Charlotte had affairs with two different men, and for now, he continues to be cordial and respectful to her. Charlotte, on the other hand, continues to do everything possible to make amends in hopes of saving their marriage.
Unfortunately, Curtis is ready to move on and is being propositioned by a woman who desperately wants to become the next Mrs. Curtis Black. When the situation heads down a path that is frighteningly shocking, could it be the final blow to this once blessed union?
    Members Reviews:
    Great disappointment...
I am a long time fan of Mrs. Roby, and I have read all of her books. This is the first time I have ever been disappointed. Curtis Black is no ordinary minister and his wife is not your average first lady. This book never grasped my full attention and the characters were "boring". I kept waiting for something, anything to happen, and it didn't. By the time the book wrapped up I was bitter. I wasted a credit on this. It happens to the best of us. I expected more and felt that this book was rushed. I expected more from the Black family and this seem like a formula that has already been used. Sorry Kimberla, you lost me with this one.
    Not her best
This book picks up from the previous book. It lacks umph, and WOW factor.
I guess the church members are not intuitive in this book. When did Charlotte become an alcoholic?
Maybe it was the narrator and not me, I don't know. This one gets 5 stars for snoozer!!!
    More of the Same
Would you try another book from Kimberla Lawson Roby and/or Maria Howell?
I love Kimberla Lawson Roby but the Curtis Black stories contain so much of the same drama that it is played out. New charactors and plots are needed. At the end of the book I notice his son has gotten the girlfriend pregnant so the drama continues.
Has The Reverend's Wife turned you off from other books in this genre?
    No
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
It was okay, but the narractor often sound like they had dry mouth.
Could you see The Reverend's Wife being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
    No.
    Don't waste a credit
What disappointed you about The Reverend's Wife?
The story was boring and poorly written.
What was most disappointing about Kimberla Lawson Robys story?
I know this is fiction but the story was simply ridiculous
How could the performance have been better?
I don't think anything could have improved the book.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
    disappointment
    Any additional comments?
This is definitely the worst book I have ever read. I will never buy a book written by this author again. I question how it got published! If I could have rated it a negative star, I would have done so.
Could the Blacks finally be on track?
I have loved the trials of the Black family since the first book and now in this latest book, could they finally be on track? I certainly hope not.

    I love this story.
It has given me a desire to treat others with a grace and respect beyond my previous understanding. What the characters said was very engaging. The author also made me aware of the importance of what the individuals refrained from saying or doing.
I thank the author for her inspired ability to teach while rendering an entertaining and beautifully written book. You will be better for having read it.
    This should be a classic!
What made the experience of listening to I Heard the Owl Call My Name the most enjoyable?
This is one of my favorite books. It should be a classic.

What did you like best about this story?
This story gives a picture of a culture that is far
Different from ours. It seems that time itself

System, traditions, and way of life.
Have you listened to any of Frank Mullers other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have not listened to his performance before this.

Highly recommended. It may be useful in
    A school curriculum.
    Fantastic listening experience
It was great to see that a recommendation to Audible resulted in this story's addition to the Audible collection. This is a beautiful book which is, on the one hand, a meditation on faith and the clash of cultures, and on the other, a suspenseful and a painful testament to history whereby a First Nations people tries to hold on to the old ways in the face of the inevitable advancement of modern life and culture.
I remember while driving home from a family vacation hanging on to every word as the story reached its conclusion. My hope being that we wouldn't reach our destination before the story ended. I highly recommend this book with its terrific narration. It draws you into the world and characters with compassion and simplicity.
    Wonderful journey

T.J. Callahan has no desire to leave town, not that anyone asked him. He's almost 17 and if having cancer wasn't bad enough, now he has to spend his first summer in remission with his family - and a stack of overdue assignments - instead of his friends.
Anna and T.J. are en route to join T.J.'s family in the Maldives when the pilot of their seaplane suffers a fatal heart attack and crash-lands in the Indian Ocean. Adrift in shark-infested waters, their life jackets keep them afloat until they make it to the shore of an uninhabited island. Now Anna and T.J. just want to survive and they must work together to obtain water, food, fire, and shelter.
Their basic needs might be met but as the days turn to weeks, and then months, the castaways encounter plenty of other obstacles, including violent tropical storms, the many dangers lurking in the sea, and the possibility that T.J.'s cancer could return.
As T.J. celebrates yet another birthday on the island, Anna begins to wonder if the biggest challenge of all might be living with a boy who is gradually becoming a man.

    Loved this book!
I absolutely loved this book and the narrator. I listened to this book in 1 day, I was completely drawn in by the story. You will fall in love with the characters and find yourself rooting for them. The narrator was great, I listen to a lot of audio books and the narrator can really make or break a book. This narrator was perfect!
    Don't miss this one. .
I have great difficulty reading due to vision loss. However, I read this book on my Kindle before I located it on Audible. It took me awhile, well worth the time as the story is so well written. The story has quite a hook from the beginnning. This author takes you into the experience so well. I can't imagine writing this story but I truly thank you Tracey for sharing this rich story with us. I was surprised it was just one download when it took me so long to read it. The narrator is very good. But her voice was not what I had imagined in my head. She did a great job with the story, my only critic is in differentiating the voices, there were times it was difficult for me to figure out who was talking. Please don't let anything stand between you and this lovely story. Lately so much seems to be geared toward a younger audience. This is a author for all of us. She knows how to write a story that is intelligent enough from teens to older adults can thoroughly enjoy. I did I am 59. Thank you so much. This is one of the memoriable ones. I hope we are able to read more from this author. Great Job! Thank you Audible.
    LOVED this book
Would you listen to On the Island again? Why?
no but I would read it again, great story!!
What did you like best about this story?
I fell in love with this story when I read it, so much so that I decided to listen to it when an audio book became available. There is something about having a story read to you that can make the it become more alive. I must say that I enjoyed reading it better than listening to it because of the narration.

A Glimpse Into Other Worlds Can be Uncomfortable
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would, with the caveat that this is not a happy, shiny story. It is gritty, and real, and at times very painful, so not for the casual listener or reader.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Up from the Blue?
The moment we find out the secret of the ruby cup. Any more would be a spoiler.
    Which scene was your favorite?
The ending, because it was complete and satisfying.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Keeping Secrets can more dangerous than letting go.
    Any additional comments?
This is a deeply insightful novel, dark and bleak. It's not escapist fiction - but the opposite. It removes layers from the real world surrounding us and a glimpse of what lies beneath the veneer we call normalcy.
