A modern twist

What made the experience of listening to A Matter-of-Fact Fairy Tale the most enjoyable?

I was really curious what pieces of fairy tales where going to come up later :)

Who was your favorite character and why?

The prince seeing as he is really not appreciated by his family.

Which scene did you most enjoy?

It is a short book so that is a difficult one.

Any additional comments?

I was really wondering whether this story was actually by the A.A. Milne of the Winnie The Pooh books, seeing as on audible it looks like it (it says by the same author...).

But seeing as I cant find this book in his bibliography and it is from 2006 so my guess is this is by someone else (it's also very different) but definitly worth a listen, also for children.

Language: English

Release date: 07-28-06

Australian actor and comedian Stig Wemyss has extensive experience performing children's literature, and his voice easily shifts between the exaggerated personalities and outsized emotions that characterize the genre - all with perfect pacing. He brings a humorous and perceptive tone to a boy whose unhappiness is not long for this world.

What does it take to get the chickies to sleep?

Fall asleep with the chickies in this hilarious bedtime audiobook!

Members Reviews:

Fun bedtime story

An infant/toddler favorite in my home, I got this as part of a baby shower gift for a Library employee. Itâs the typical story of kids stalling to get to sleep but in a toddler friendly story that allows children to participate and tell the story with you.

So cute and true

We just love this book about little chickies who don't want to go to bed, and our daughter too. They always need something else before going to sleep, it's so like her!

Catchy words and cute illustrations

My husband and I quote this book all the time. My daughter loves pointing to the animals. A favorite. We read it several times a week.

Cute book!

I bought this book for my daughter a while ago at a local store and she loved for me to read it to her each and every night before bedtime. She ended up destroying this book, and I had to buy her a new one, but I couldnât find it anywhere. It is a good cute little book that I love to read to her each and every night she even reads it to me sometimes.

I did not receive this book for free or at a discounted price for my opinion.

The Chickies series is just adorable

I am a fan of all the books in the chickies series. It has a great flow, reads well and the story is entertaining. my child has been on a kick where she reads this every night for a week. Hopefully she will switch it up a little.
