I listened to this with my daughter and she totally loved it!!!! Great narration voices, and fun characters.

My daughter had 2 questions though, where were Tads parents ? And did he not get in more trouble missing so much school?

Sure. A Turtle's Magical Adventure is about a turtle who thinks he would be happier if he could only...go faster, remove his shell,....Only to discover he can be happy knowing he is exactly who "the creator' intended and that makes him perfect.

Would you be willing to try another book from Wanda Luthman? Why or why not?

Sure. Ms. Luthman tells a nice story.

This is my first story narrated by Ms Phillips. I thought she did a nice job. No over the top voices, just sweet storytelling. Like our local librarian

Fun, educational story.

I liked this story. What a great message for kids. I liked the narration. She read well and spoke clearly. Highly recommend. Given copy for honest review.

Such a Cute Story With a Great Message

"A Turtle's Magical Adventure" was too cute. I thought the story was exactly appropriate for the age group. There was a great message about acceptance and the characters were adorable.

It was a little Wizard of Oz-y and a little Adam and Eve-ish and it worked. With that said, there was no pretense at all. This audiobook was just plain adorable. I think Wanda Luthman has a knack for writing children's stories. My youngest grand who's 7 would love this one.

Mercedes Phillips' narration was cute. She was able to get down on a kid's level of speaking. She also has a good tone in her voice. The audio quality was lacking only slightly but what kid's going to notice that. A non-issue.

The message is a good one: everyone is different for a reason. We are made for different purposes and should celebrate those differences. Have confidence in who you are and don't let the meanness of others bother you.

What did you like best about this story?

Imagery of the story; that all children experience the desire to be different and we waste a lot of time searching for a way to change ourselves. There is always a cost for wanting to change who you are.

I am ballet cat. I teach dance all day to little kids, big kids, and adults. This is our new series for kids with lessons on friendship, sharing, fears, secrets, family, and what is really important: ballet! Just kidding. Great messages in a super engaging way!

Very disappointed in this book

Excellent for all ages - Art work equisite

I have purchased over 20 of these books for family and friends. It has been well received by all of them. I have given this book to ages two to fourty. I find that the art work compliments the story well. The younger children who are unable to read are able to create their own stories from the pictures. It is priceless to watch a two year old make up their own stories to the pictures. The younger and older children are drawn into the story by these illustrations. The author and the illustrator did a fantastic job. In addition, the information in the back of the book is a great teaching tool. I have given 5 of these books to school teachers who love the facts and quizzes at the end of the story. It would be a nice compliment to a weather unit at school. The teachers have stated it is well written and the vivid detail to the pictures bring the book to life and make it interesting for all ages. I highly recommend this book to all parents, teachers, and people who are looking for that unique gift.

Darcy Pattison has taken the 12 months of the year and shown the cycle of life on the prairie, as well as the weather cycle. She didn't stop there. She has filled the end of her book with lessons and activities that covers habitats, math, science, geography, reading. She provides online activities and resources and for those of us who are teachers, this book is geared to state standards. I look forward to putting this on the shelf for my grandkids and recommending it to the parents of my students who have little ones at home

A real winner

Have you ever sat outside to watch the dark clouds build up and a storm roll in? This book about the prairie or grassland habitat details the different kinds of storms that normally come in each month of the year on the prairies and what various sorts of animals in that habitat do when they occur, such as the prairie chicken in a January snowstorm, the sand crane in a March tornado, the red fox in a May rain shower, the striped skunk in a July dust storm, the burrowing owl in an August cloudburst, and the bald eagle in a November ice storm. Other animals mentioned include the ground hog, prairie dogs, white tailed deer, the earless lizard, the cougar, and the bison. Other weather phenomena discussed include fog, a flash flood, a thunderstorm, heat lightning during a drought, hail, and blizzards.

Good book and a great seller

This is a very cute book and as sellers are amazing people.

Satisfying on many levels

An engaging blend of youthful emotion, suspense, and marine biology, as the baby shark seeks his own identity and discovers a big world in the process.

'Shark Baby' by Ann Downer, illustrated by Shennen Bersani

Shark Baby is growing within the safe confines of his egg case (mermaid's purse). He is growing larger so it is no longer possible to turn around and look at his markings to decide 'what kind of shark' he is!

As a storm breaks and causes turbulence on the ocean floor, his egg case breaks free from the kelp it was tethered to and it is swept along through the ocean landscapes on an adventurous journey.

Shark Baby is able to see through a slit in the battered egg case, from which he can witness the other amazing creatures of the ocean and ask their advice about his origins.

As with all good stories, there is a well timed answer for him (and us) at the end.

This book is suited as an introduction to sharks for younger readers and those who love to absorb facts in smaller doses. The text is large and clear, and the illustrations are realistic and accurate, yet with enough added character to empathise with the different species within the story. The creatures of the ocean are introduced as Baby Shark meets them, and they are illustrated beautifully.

Shennen Bersani's underwater world glows with colour and it is a treat to return to after the story has been read, just to spot all the other sea creatures within the pictures.

It is so nice to see shark facts dealt with in a picture-book format, with a story as told from a baby shark's view of the world, rather than page after page of factual details. This makes the subject matter easier to approach for those new to non-fiction books, and opens up further study to those who wish to know more.

To enhance the story, at the end of this book are educational pages of shark facts and `True or False' questions (and answers). There is also mention of the considerable research undertaken in order to be accurate with the factual details and illustrations within this beautiful book.

Adorable!

This is an adorable book. I received my copy today and my 5 year old loved it! What a cute story. He loved seeing Penelope's house get more and more crowded with penguins and enjoyed counting the penguins on each page. He giggled at several of the illustrations. He was also surprised to find out how many countries the penguins came from. My older sons enjoyed the learning activities at the back. I definitely recommend this book!

Great book for children!

Very well written. Story is easy and clear for a child to read and understand. Can be read to a young child, or great book for early readers to practice reading. Love the aspect of using a different species of Penguin for each segment. Also love the fact that there are additional educationally based activities at the end of the book!

Educational and entertaining

The Penguin Lady is the whimsical tale of Penelope Parker, a woman who lives in a little white house with black trim, located on Penguin Place. She always dresses in her favorite colors: black and white . . . and just happens to walk with a waddle.

One year on her birthday, her brother sends her a penguin from the Galapagos Islands. Then her sister sends her two penguins from Argentina. The newspaper prints a story about her, and soon people begin sending her orphaned penguins from all over the southern hemisphere of the world. Eventually, more and more penguins begin to appear at her doorstep as the numbers increase progressively up to ten.

This amusing book, with fanciful illustrations, will allure and entertain, while offering educational opportunities to compare and contrast, count, and learn about geographical regions of the world.

Penelope Parker was fond of penguins. Well, maybe she was crazy about them. She had bright, sparkling eyes and was dressed in black and white flowered overalls.
