A classic!

One of my favorite books by Barbara Brooks Wallace! A terrific read for kids of all ages. There's even enough mystery to keep adult readers riveted.

It was a really good book...

I know a lot of people may think that the book Twins in the Tavern may not be such a good book, but I think it was. The book is about a boy named Taddy who was kidnapped by two men who robbed his house after his aunt and uncle died. He was forced to work in an inn called The Dog's Tail, where he mets Beatle, another kidnapped boy. Then Taddy (now called Toady), was hired to work in the a very rich house, where he sees a boy who looks exactly like him! Could this be the twin his uncle told him about? And if so, will he ever be able to confront him and tell him?

I thought this book was very good and recommend it to everyone to read.

Right from the start, I thought this book not to be as good as other books by Barbara Brooks Wallace. As in all most of her books that I have read, though, characters underwent totall personallity morphs at the end. I would not reccomend this book highly.

Entertaining, especially for young ones

Entertaining, informative summary of World Cup history. The nine and under set (including both of my kids) will really love it. I, too, enjoyed it, but because both the writing style and the voice performance are aimed at a young audience, it can be a little difficult to listen to at times. For the intended audience, it's a goal. Well done.

Funny Book For Young Readers

Young readers will think this is a really funny book! Their parents will probably enjoy it, too. While not what I expected from a book with the phrase "animal rescue" in the title, kids love animal stories and will certainly enjoy this one, even though it focuses more on the human characters than the alligator.

Matilda Mae: The Dog Who Needed a Name

good book!

This book was very educating about Crocodilia. It follows an adventure of the Carter family and their family buisness: Carter Urban Rescue. When a baby alligator is stranded in the city pool, keisha and her family have to find a place for it to live. I recommend using this book for alligator facts.

It is Hilarious!

Gator on the Loose was a hilarious book. While catching alligators in laundry baskets, and making sure the baby gets his yogurt, 10 year old Keisha and her family have lots of funny dialogue. I especially liked Razi, the little brother, and Grandma, who purses her lips at "OL"(Old Lady) things, like elastic jeans and glasses on a chain. I read the book in 3 days. I learned a lot about alligators. I highly recommend this book to anyone who still likes children's books and has a sense of humor.

One of my favorite children's stories

Anyone who has ever wanted or had a dog should enjoy this one. I first came across it in middle age and liked it, and more recently read through it with one of my students. It had not lost any of its appeal as I grew older. It is not an action-packed story, and not what you would call a thrilling story, but, well-planned and well-written, with a touch or two of humor and some scenes that bring out the emotions, it deserves to be called a classic.

A dog so small

This is a great book for young people, about Ben who lives in London. Ben would love a dog - a big dog, like a Borzoi, say. But there is no room. His family has no garden. So he decides maybe the only way is to have a dog so small you can only see it with your eyes shut.

Meanwhile his gran shows him a picture of a Chihuahua dog so he imagines this dog - Chiqitita - is following him around London. Poor, lonely Ben, with no friends, takes to riding the Tube all day, walking the streets, alone but for his dog so small that nobody else can see it. Obviously nobody should do this today, it would be very dangerous, and the story was written decades ago.

When his family suddenly moves to near Hampstead Heath the possibility arises that Ben could have a real dog, maybe Brown, from a litter of pups. But does he want a real dog, or does he want Chiqitita?

A very good story for pre-teens to adults.

Ben wants a dog. Sadly, Ben canât have a dog. Ben and his family live in London and London is no place for dogs.

Great for girls

I bought this book for my granddaughter. I enjoy what Beverly Lewis writes & have started buying for her. I have bought other books for her written by

Beverly Lewis also.

Intended for more mature audience than the first 4 books

I ordered books 5-8 in this series after purchasing and liking the first 4. Unfortunately these books seem to be geared to an older audience. Book 7 in particular, deals with issues of weight loss, wanting to be thin, and modeling. While the character in this book makes the right decision in the end and realizes that God made her perfect, I don't want to even put these ideas into my child's head. I will probably hold onto this set of books and may give it to my daugthers when they are a little bit older. My oldest is an avid reader and is 7.
