A difficult read for me, but worth persisting with.

German is not my first language but recently I've started reading "Krimis" again. In terms of language this book was more challenging the previous books and I had to read it slowly. But with the frequent use of the dictionary I think I understood pretty much everything and it was worth persisting with. The two main characters were interesting in themselves and I'm sure as more novels are written that the reader will learn more about them. The story itself was believable and events of the present day were linked back to past events. I will read the next book in the series.

Gute Idee, etwas anstrengend

Sprachlich unangenehm zu lesen, viele Ebenen sind eng verschachtelt, die Idee selbst ist gut, die Figuren mit ihren eigenen Geschichten interessant.

I don't know why I read this

Disappointed with the ending that left me with too many unanswered questions. I questioned the relevance of some characters and their place in the '50/50 killer'. A bit of a fizzer really.

Full of surprises

This was a really satisfying read from Steve Mosby.

I have read some fast paced awesome books this year but this was well 'up there' in my list of Must reads

This book is like an ever ready battery, it just keeps on going and going and going, you just can't leave it alone until you have it finished.

I didn't realize this was a a move on from the first book 50/50 killer, it was fine me reading this as a stand alone but I really felt I would have been served better information if I had known this and read the previous book.

How can someone come back from the dead, looking exactly like that person who was involved in an accident. Have the same scares. But had been buried?

Is this person mad?

The detective handling the case lost his son in previous years, and each year he gets a card on his birthday from his son.....

But one year he gets a card which says I know who did it

These two mysteries are entwined and as we read along the suspense builds.

This is an awesome read as only this author can build.

*My thanks to Orion Publishing Group via Net Galley for my copy*

Wow!!! I found my first 5 star ...

Wow!!! I found my first 5 star read of 2016.

The subject of this book was disturbing, intriguing and made my spine tingle. The 2 main characters were extremely likeable and came across as truly commendable policemen.

The story was told by different people and was very cleverly done. I had an OMG moment and had to go re-read.

I cannot believe I have not read any of Steve Mosby's books before. I can't wait to read the rest of his books.

Superb.

Well now I obviously DO know who did it having just turned the final page. But really, that doesn't matter because this novel, a sequel to the 50/50 killer (another top crime tale from this author which it's not absolutely necessary to read prior although I would if I were you)is not so much about that.

It is of course, a mystery, a conundrum to solve but this is so much more, although I'll struggle to tell you how without spoilers but I'll do my best.

For a start it's quite a conundrum.

A Great who-done it novel!!!

I love murder mysteries, and who doesn't?! I received The List last week and have already finished reading it!! It was a definite page turner, a roller coaster, a surprise around every corner! I couldn't put it down! Hated to put it down! It pulled you in, with every sentence, every page! I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone looking to read a great murder mystery!

Very Entertaining

I enjoyed The List by Michael D. Smith from beginning to end. There were so many twists and turns it kept me guessing until the very end. This book was well written and had a great story line as well. One of the more entertaining murder mysteries I have read.

Excellent Book!!!

I highly recommend Mystery, Ink The List! This book is well written and provided enough details to keep me engaged and guessing. Excellent choice of characters and plot! In addition, I enjoyed the pieces of history within the storyline. I look forward to reading another book from this author.

The List is a Page Turner

I just finished The List and enjoyed the pacing and action. It was definitely a page turner. Dr. Marv Henderson is an interesting lead character with lots of history driving his actions. The details were written well along with the dialogue. Great introduction into the life of a coroner in a small town with big city troubles.

Reasons to Read This Book? The List is Long

With The List, by Michael D. Smith, Mystery, Ink. has done it again. They've introduced us to a new sleuth, coroner Marv Henderson, and with him comes a new mystery in our favorite cursed town.

Marv is called to the scene of the murder of his friend, florist Annemarie Smith. He takes the loss personally, and once the police apprehend their suspect, he asks to witness the interrogation. The man they've arrested is of Hispanic descent, and he maintains his innocence, which creates a racial divide in the town. To make matters worse, the killings don't stop. Marv finds himself embroiled in the mystery, racing to find the necessary clues to stop the killer before a friend or a member of his own family ends up paying the ultimate price.

The List has everything you can want in a mystery: an engaging (if cantankerous) lead, a gripping plot, suspense, action, and a satisfying ending. I read it in one sitting. If you're looking for a quick-read, thrilling mystery, this is the book for you.
