About Guftagoo
Guftagoo (Conversations) is India’s only uninterrupted, unscripted and unhurried celebrity talk show. Running since 2011 the show has a rich repository of 400+ TV shows varying from 30 to 160 minutes.
It’s a unique show interviewing distinguished personalities from various fields of arts and culture. The celebrated anchor Syed Mohd Irfan is host of the show whose distinctive style of conversation forms the essence of the show allowing guests to express their raw emotions. The in-depth interviews provide the viewers an intimate look in the inner worlds of the guests invited to the show. Habib Jalib (Habib Ahmad, Born 24 March 1928 Hoshiarpur, Punjab, British India Died 12 March 1993 (aged 64) Lahore, Pakistan) was a Pakistani revolutionary poet, left-wing activist who opposed martial law, authoritarianism and state oppression. Pakistani poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz said that he was the poet of the masses. He opposed military coups and administrators and was duly jailed several times.
Habib Jalib was born as Habib Ahmad on 24 March 1928 in a village near Hoshiarpur, British India. He migrated to Pakistan after the partition of India. Later he worked as a proofreader for Daily Imroze of Karachi. He was a progressive writer and soon started to grab the audience with his enthusiastic recitation of poetry. He wrote in plain language, adopted a simple style and addressed common people and issues. But the conviction behind his words, the music of his voice and his emotional energy coupled with the sensitivity of the socio-political context is what stirred the audience.

Farida Khanum is a Pakistani classical singer from the province of Punjab.
She was born in the fall of 1929 in Calcutta , British India. She had four siblings, a sister and three brothers. Her sister is the famous singer, Mukhtar Begum. Their whole family moved from Amritsar, British India to Lahore, Pakistan when she was 18 years old.
She started learning Khayal, Thumri and Dadra from Ustad Ashiq Ali Khan of Patiala gharana. As a child, her sister Mukhtar Begum would take her to the Khan's place for regular riyaaz (practice of classical music). Her family moved to Pakistan after the Partition of India in 1947.
Farida Khanum gave her first public concert in 1950 at the very young age of 21, and then joined Radio Pakistan where she gained recognition for herself. She became a star when Pakistan's president Ayub Khan invited her to a public recital in the 1960s. She has been a frequent performer on Pakistan Television and other Pakistani TV channels. The ghazal she is most associated with is Aaj Jaane Ki Zidd Naa Karo written by the famous poet Fayyaz Hashmi. In 2015, at the age of 86, she sang this ghazal in Coke Studio (Pakistan) Season 8.
Farida Khanum also visited Kabul, Afghanistan in the late 1960s or early 1970s for concerts, she collaborated with Afghan musicians and sang Persian-language ghazals there.
Farida Khanum lives in Lahore, Pakistan. She has five daughters and one son. Sheba Hassan is her niece, who is known for her performance in the PTV drama serial Sona Chandi (1982). Farida Khanum has been affectionately called Queen of Ghazal in Pakistan.
