WARNING! Today's War of the Roses involved a husband who revealed that he was Crossdressing, but heterosexual and not cheating on his wife. As a group, we collectively suggested MARRIAGE counseling and did not take one side or the other on anything involving gender identity due to the radio show being a neutral entertainment space. However, we did not condone the language the wife was using at her own husband and stood up against any "hateful" language. The reaction was mixed with some thinking we took one viewpoint on one side of the political spectrum and others think we took the opposite viewpoint.
However this caller was persistent, and used hateful language... so Stew Pidasso and the gang had a little fun and tried to remind him that JJR is just a radio show presented wit inquiries for advice and we keep neutral and entertaining as best as we can. In fact, our entire cast has different opinions, worldviews, and political affiliations from each other and yet collectively wanted to take a moment to address this guy with humor and satire to avoid heavier, angrier feelings.
If you see it from a comedy lens and heard War of the Roses this morning, knowing there was nothing funny about it, you will understand our decision to go ahead and take this caller to avoid being spammed by him during the show. We added some bells and whistles and a surprise at the end in an effort to show unity.
We bleeped his profanity.
