Comparing barmaids, builders and battleaxes across the ages, we ponder whether Corrie should be delving more into its history books when creating new characters, and discuss the fact that, however they may sometimes try to create modern versions of classic residents of the street, when you've got a different set of actors, sometimes the old magic is just impossible to recapture.
