It's the first day back for a new semester! I've got a lot of mixed feelings about this but one thing's for sure, I'm not prepared for the year ahead HAHA I'm sure everyone feels this way but not knowing what lies ahead sort of terrifies me. 

In this episode, I'll be talking about my feelings after the first day of classes post a really long and well deserved break. Juggling responsibilities and managing time are some things that I'm learning to handle, and I hope you will too.

In this mini-episode, I'll be delving into why I prefer the English language and my feelings surrounding the Indonesian language. It's short but sweet, and if you want more background on my thoughts, check out my other episode 'The Romanticisation of Western Culture.'

No shade to the recent drama. 

I recorded this episode 2 weeks ago. Just as I was about to post it, I stopped myself and thought that I should re-record it because of the recent 'incidents' that would make this episode even more relatable. But after much contemplation, I ended up NOT fixing anything at all. I'm sticking with my original episode because I stand by what I've said in it, despite knowing how hurtful some influencers may be. 

I hope you enjoy this episode. I hope you learn a lot from it and ultimately, I hope you understand the importance of being empathetic to others.

Social media is scary. After watching 'The Social Dilemma', I've had a lot of thought about the negative ways that social media has impacted me and my life. Sure, it can help us connect with information and others at a quicker rate, but to what extent are we going to let it control our lives, or even shape our entire personalities? It's terrifying to think about how advanced technology is, that you might not even realise that it's shaping and controlling you.

Throughout the pandemic, I have had a bunch of burnout periods where I just feel like doing nothing and my mind goes completely blank. But burnouts are NOT indestructible, and it's definitely not something that you can't control. So in this episode, I'm going to share some of my top tips and tricks to overcome burnouts based on my own experiences. Who knows? Maybe they'll help you too!

Growing up watching Western TV, I always thought to myself "Man, if I lived in America, I would be prettier, more independent, go to a better school..." and the list goes on. A part of me has always been critical and ashamed even of my upbringing and culture because I felt like it was nothing compared to the free and idealistic Western world. I guess you could say I'm indoctrinated by the idea of the Western Culture but that's not to say that I've realized that some parts of it will never align with my personal worldviews.

Growing up with strict parents is definitely not easy, especially when you think that no one else understands your struggles. If you think you're alone, you're not! So for this special episode, I invited my younger sister, Josephine, to share our experience of growing up with strict Asian parents. We're here to tell you all the rules, the crazy ups and downs and the aftermath of growing up with extra strict parents.

On this episode, I will be touching on the surface of my experience with dieting and how instead of getting what I wanted, I had to deal with the messy aftermath that people don't talk about. Diets have become so normalised to the point that we have accepted and implemented, the destructive lifestyle and patterns it promotes. Since it has done much more damage than good for me, I AM SO DONE with diets!
