    We recently saw a beautiful Christmas video on Facebook made by our wonderful guest today, Katie O' Connor. Katie is a preschool teacher at the Holy Cross Mercy Preschool. 

    This video captures and defines what Christmas is all about. 

    Katie chats to us today about this magical video and where the idea came from.

    One thing Katie said during our chat really stood out. Katie told us that "we may be retricted, but our belief isn't"

  • Kayleigh Sheerin - Educational and Child Psychologist

    Our guest today has a BA of Education and Psychology and after a few years of teaching, Kayleigh returned to college to earn her Doctorate in Attahment and Infant Mental Health,

    Now working as an Educational and Child Psychologist, Kayleigh chats to us about her journey, and how she ended up where she is today. 

    We ask Kayleigh about her thoughts on Early Intervention, Anxiety, Behavioural Strategies and Infant Mental Health, and discuss strategies Early Years Educators can implement in the classroom to help the children feel happy and secure.

    Our guest today always dreamed of becoming a Primary School teacher.  After taking a very short detour and applying to become a Guard, a job offer in a Primary School brought Eileen back to her planned career path. 

    Now Principal of the school that gave Eileen her first start, and a Post Graduate Degree in Special Educational Needs, Eileen chats to us about her experience of teaching over the past 15 years.

  • Matthew Moran - Men in Childcare

    Our guest today has a degree in Early Childhood Education but is now working as a lighting technician and designer & TV and film rigger. 

    Matthew talks to us about his college experience and being one of the very few men in his course.

    Although Matthew experienced some adversity during one of his placements, he spoke so highly of Early Years Education and was appreciative of all the mentors who helped him along the way. 

    We caught Matthew up on all the changes to Early Years Education since he graduated and asked Matthew if he would ever return to the Early Years.

    We asked Sadhbh about how her daily routine has changed since the first Irish confirmed case of COVID19 and how we could spot the differences between COVID19 and the regualr colds and flus. 

    Sadhbh praises the National Medical Teams and Personnel who briefed GPs daily and is a huge advocate of the flu vaccine!

  • Jessica Tuite - ASD Teacher

    Our guest today always knew she wanted to work with children. Since her brother was born, Jessica found that she was a very caring and nurturing person. 

    Between all of her college placements, Jessica decided she was passionate about working with children with additional needs.

    Now Jessica is a tutor in an Early Years setting and works directly with children on the Autism Spectrum. 

    Jessica talks to us about the challenges she faces in her daily routine but is always so proud of all the progress that each child makes.

  • Megan Buckley Heelan - Mia's Story

    Our guest today shares her story and the story of her little sister Mia.

    Pulling from her experience as an Early Years Educator, Megan knew that something was not quite right with Mia when she started to miss her milestones.

    During many doctors visits and testing, Megan's family found that Mia had a rare condition called Chromosome Deletion Syndrone 13q.

    Megan talks to us about the impact Mia has had on her life and how she is a joyful, bubbly little girl, and normalised Mia's condition. 

    The phrase 'It's okay to be different' has never been truer.

    Praising the staff, the Doctors and the wonderful Midwives at CUMH, Sinéad takes us inside the maternity ward during a very uneasy and uncertain time.
