This time I will tell you about a book that inspired Little Women. This book is Susan Warner's Wide Wide World. Wide Wide World appeared when LMA was 18 years old, and there is a moment in Little Women, where 15 year old Jo "was reading and crying over Wide Wide World in the apple tree". Best way I can describe Wide Wide World is a "Christian romance"? with plenty of morals and self-reflection. It was an interesting read, but as I love history it was great fun to do research on Susan Warner who was an interesting woman.

This time Emily and I will be analyzing chapter "Vanity Fair" from Little Women. This is by far, the most requested chapter people have asked me to analyze on the podcast!

Meg’s longing to fit in with wealthier circles grows stronger, leading her to accept an invitation to a lavish party. She becomes disillusioned when she realizes that appearances don’t bring true happiness, and the superficiality of the people around her starkly contrasts with the values of her own family.
