Jim thinks it just looks like the Avalanche are a little better team than the Wild. Even if they are eliminated Wednesday night, he doesn't think there will be many changes to the roster. The Wolves may go at Wembanyama physically again, but it's not for revenge of Naz Reid taking an elbow, it's just a good game plan.

Jim gives Naz Reid a new nickname. This is the first red flag for Wemby. Ant is gassed but carrying the load. If the Wild win tonight it's a series, if they don't, they are likely done in 5 games to the Avs.

Jim and Todd preview tonight's Game 3 at Target Center. Jim will be there and is expecting a raucous crowd. How the Wolves combat being shorthanded. Why the Spurs were so effective in Game 2. How important DiVincenzo was to the team. The Wild must win game 3 and to do that must play better on special teams, especially PK. The Minnesota Frost face elimination from the PWHL semifinals tonight.

Jim and Todd discuss the Timberwolves getting "punked" by the Spurs in Game 2. San Antonio made some adjustments, blitzing Ant and moving Wemby to the block, now the Wolves have to adjust. The three days between games for the Wild should help them, maybe they can figure out the penalty kill. Ober struggled for the Twins, but he's far from their biggest problem. Jim believes the Twins have a lot of minor league pitching talent that is on the way.

Jim says if the Wild don't button up in their defensive end, this could be a short series. Why are the special teams playing so poorly? On the penalty kill at least, just check the injury scratch list.  The Wolves can put their foot on the Spurs with a win tonight, how can they do that. NBA whip around. Twins finally get good news on a potential injury to Joe Ryan, he's fine and will make his next start. Todd has seen enough of this Twins hitter and wants to see Kaelen Culpepper get a shot soon.

Jim and Todd talk about the Timberwolves Game 1 victory over San Antonio. Ant returning to play was huge and respected by his teammates. How did they attack Wemby and be effective despite him blocking 12 shots. Mike Conley was the x-factor player, hitting 4-7 on three's. The Wild have to better defensively tonight.

Jim and Todd talk about the game 1 loss for the Wild in Denver. Unusual game, but Colorado showed, they aren't Dallas. Jim doesn't think the Wild will bench Wallstedt. Anthony Edwards ability to recover from injury is superhuman, thus his coach and teammates calling him "Wolverine," after the X-Men character who immediately heals from injury.  It doesn't look good for Twins pitcher Joe Ryan, after he left after just nine pitches on Sunday. Could the Vikings GM be the guy that already has the job?

Jim attended the Wolves game vs the Nuggets and said the atmosphere was louder than it was on TV. Jaden McDaniels talked it and walked it, impressive. TJ Shannon is terrible on defense as Jim can attest, but his electric offensive game made a huge difference. Quinn Hughes is one of the smartest players in the NHL and the Wild were the better team in their series with Dallas.

Jim talks about this being the first time in Minnesota sports history the Wolves and Wild have a chance to clinch at home on the same night. He thinks the injuries for the Timberwolves may be too much to overcome. The Wild have shown they are the better team than Dallas. Twins righthander Taj Bradley was touching 99mph on the radar gun in the 7th inning with over 100 pitches thrown.

Jim and Todd talk about a big win for the Wild. Kaprizov has his best game of the series. Matt Boldy has gone from a nice player to compliment Kaprizov, to a star. Jim wasn't sure it should be Wallstedt as the #1 in the playoffs, but it has worked beautifully. Texas Tech starting QB has been suspended for gambling, he was a potential 1st round draft pick. The guys are worried about the corrosive effect of gambling on sports. Jim thinks the Wolves will play better at home on Thursday with a little practice time between games.
