  • Live Bold & Boss Up: From Google to Startup – with Jocelyn Stradiotto and Nellie Coffey

Steph & Ash talk this week with Jocelyn “Joce” Stradiotto and Nellie Coffey, Co-Founders of Sunchaser. Joce & Nellie started Sunchaser in 2018 after leaving their corporate job at Google. They wanted a healthy alternative to alcohol, and without the hangover. Joce & Nellie recognized the fire in one another and took a risk of leaving their stable jobs and starting a new business together.

    Boss Bites:

    • When looking for a business partner, find someone that has the same “fire” as you.
    • You learn as you go, don’t be scared to take risks.
    • Part of the journey…is just keep going no matter what obstacles are thrown your way.

    • Live Bold & Boss Up: What We Wish We Knew In Our 20’s

Steph & Ash start off the new year talking about what they wish they knew in their 20’s…this is just the tip of the iceberg on a few things they wanted to share and learned. Hopefully this helps someone else not make these same mistakes! We want to hear some of yours too! Drop us a comment and on what you wish you knew as well.

      Boss Bites:

      • Life is always a lesson and always open for learning opportunities. Learn from your mistakes.
      • Don’t rely on other people’s happiness to make you happy.

      • Live Bold & Boss Up: What is Overemployment and Is It OK?

Steph & Ash discuss the topic of overemployment. What is it and is it acceptable? Overemployment is working two or more jobs, typically that are remote and both full-time. This topic is hot these days following the pandemic when most jobs went remote. Many workers emerged from the pandemic with the worry of layoffs and with the increase of salaries sky rocketing they saw this as an opportunity to take advantage of the system. Listen up to find the right and wrong way to do it!

        Boss Bites:

        • Don’t overdo it! Being overemployed can lead to fast burn out.
        • Some employers may see this as a conflict of interest. Always best to be transparent!
        • Don’t be shady! The community is small and this could taint your reputation.

          • Live Bold & Boss Up: The Sweetest Side of Business – Hampton Chocolatiers, Austin & Grant Gappelberg

Steph & Ash talk this week with the very impressive, Austin & Grant Gappelberg, owners of the Hampton Chocolate Factory. The two brothers Austin and Grant grew up in the wonderful world of chocolate working summers in the Hampton Chocolate Factory since the ages of 13 and 11. Austin and Grant Gappelberg always dreamed of one day following in their family’s footsteps and opening their own Hampton Chocolate Factory. They just didn’t think it would happen in Tampa or so soon, considering they’re only 21 and 19 now. You can tell by our conversation with them, they aren’t just sitting back and letting things come to them…they are hustlers and hard workers. Instead of hanging out with friends they are at the store or around town promoting their chocolate.

                6. Live Bold & Boss Up: The Success Behind the Mayor of Tampa, Mayor Jane Castor

This week Steph & Ash sit down with Tampa’s 59th Mayor, Jane Castor. There is no denying Mayor Jane Castor has an impressive background. Born and raised in Tampa, Jane has spent a lifetime in service to the community, first as a police officer, then as Tampa’s first female Chief of Police, and finally as the city’s 59th Mayor. She attended the University of Tampa on an Athletic Scholarship and was in the UT’s Athletic Hall of Fame for both Volleyball and Basketball.

Jane spent 31 years with the Tampa Police Department, serving in nearly every capacity and in nearly every neighborhood of the city. In October of 2009, Castor became Tampa’s first female Chief of Police, serving for six years in that role. During her time as a senior staff member, Castor worked to reduce major crimes by 70% citywide. While Chief, she developed and successfully executed a progressive policing strategy during the 2012 Republican National Convention and oversaw the successful Bollywood Awards, held in America for the first time. In addition, she oversaw the multi-jurisdictional security plan for Super Bowl XLIII and led the Department of Homeland Security’s Tampa Bay Urban Area Security Initiative.

Mayor Jane’s love for dogs is also apparent when our Live Bold & Boss Up mascot, Bernie comes in and interrupts the podcast. This episode is a lot of fun!!
