One of the most unfortunate things that has happened in the recent history of the Evangelical church is that individuals sitting in the pews have gotten the impression that the clergy, those trained professionally for ministry, are the only ones who can actually do ministry.
Nothing could be further from the truth. In this great conversation with my friend, Paul Moore you will come to understand what I'm talking about when I say “spiritual business.” It's a possibility for anyone who has an open, generous heart and is eager to be a tool in God’s hand to change the world.

Spiritual Business with Paul Moore: OUTLINE
In one way, it's kind of sad that I phrase like spiritual business is not easily understood. But I get it.
The teaching we've received from well-meaning pastors and evangelists has given us the impression that business is a sordid thing to get into and the very best we can do is to keep our hands clean of the improprieties that often happen.
But my guest and I have both come to understand that like anything else in life, business can be done in a spiritual way. It only makes sense because all of us are spiritual beings. And as followers of Jesus Christ, we have been given the Holy Spirit of God who is able to lead us into the best practices that enable us to build a business that can benefit people on a large scale.
In this conversation, Paul Moore and I chat about his experiences in business and how he came to realize that he didn't have to be seminary trained in order to do spiritual work. Some of the ways this guy and his partners are looking to change the world are downright inspiring.
He's got my wheels turning when it comes to new ways I might be able to leverage my business endeavors for greater purposes.
Trust that God is going to lead you into what He wants you to doOne of the things I wanted to ask Paul, simply because he has such a wide array of experiences in the business world, was how he would advise a person who has an entrepreneurial bent but doesn't know exactly what sort of business they should pursue.
Paul's advice was golden.
He says the first thing you need to do is to trust that God is going to lead you if He wants you to be pursuing some kind of business. It's God's plan that matters, first of all, you just get to come along for the ride. So believe that He will guide you through your open and teachable heart, and get started one step at a time. As you are moving, God will direct you.
And if you have no interest in starting your own business and instead feel called to the corporate world, Paul has a story or two that will lift your spirits as well.
You don't want to miss the true account about the Jewish CEO who was healed through the faithful prayers of one of his Christian employees. And it didn't stop there. The CEO became one of the biggest cheerleaders for the Christian employee and even put him and God on the spot to change the weather.
I told you it's a great story. You’ve got to hear it on this episode.
Dream Big! The spiritual significance of your business endeavors can’t be underestimatedThe significance of what you and I can accomplish through a spiritual business should never be underestimated. It's not just about making money, it's about what we can do for the kingdom with the money that is generated.
And beyond that, there are people who work with us and for us who we can bless in normal and not so normal ways through the positions God gives us as business leaders.
It's time for us to start dreaming big. Businesses that are led from a spiritual perspective can be a tool in God's hand to accomplish great things. Go this conversation is almost an hour, you won't regret a minute of it.

After all, you’ve been a church-person for some time now.
You know the lingo - the verbiage - the things to do to show that you’re a “good” little Christian.
But I’m going to push on you a bit in this episode. I hope you don’t mind.
I want you to examine whether or not you REALLY believe God is at work in you.
Because if do, there’s no limit to what He might accomplish in you and through.
Stick around for my little rant. It’s not that painful, I promise

We all know what it means to work. But do we know what it means to let God work in us?
Most of us get busy with some kind of work every day of our lives.
Housework. Parenting work. Office work. Construction work. The list is limitless.
And we know what it means to be tired FROM working.
But God works more than any of us and He never gets tired. It’s one of the perks of being God.
And He says some amazing things to us, about us - that could change everything in our worlds.
Here are a few examples…
Philippians 2:12-13
Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.
2 Corinthians 4:6-7
For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.
Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
I could go on all day, but you get the point.
God intentionally points out that HE is in us to work THROUGH us.Let that blow your mind. It’s OK, I’ll wait. ;)
If that is true… if THAT IS TRUE…
Do you see where I’m going with this?
If God is at work in you, there’s no reason any of that should be true.
This episode is my little rant about that - and hopefully a kick in the seat of the pants - a pep rally - a motivational talk - to get you thinking rightly instead of wrongly.
Come on my fellow Christ-followers, let’s get ourselves aligned with God’s purposes in redeeming us and change this stupid world!
Insecurity can be powerful. But not as powerful as the God who is at work in youInsecurity is a very real thing.
As real as an intangible feeling can be, that is.
The grip it has on us is strong and it takes intentional work on a number of levels to kick it to the curb.
But it can be done - I know, because I’ve done it. Sort of. ;)
Beating insecurity is a mental task, a FAITH task.
And don’t let my use of that word - faith - make you think we’re about to get all woo-woo and impractical. Not in the least.
Biblical faith is the most practical, action-oriented, world-changing thing there is because it takes God at His word enough to move, to act, to boldly be an agent of change.
Insecurity has no place in the life of a Christ-follower. None. Nada. Zilch.
This episode highlights that fact and gives you some tools that you can use to overcome insecurity once and for all. And it all starts with the reality - THE REALITY - that God is at work in you.
Once you believe that enough to take action, the doors of God-sized possibility are open.
Get ready. God just might rock your world through this episode.
