The Bible tells us that Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. When our emotions war against God's truth, we have a choice in believing His truth including Jesus' definition of love.

It's easy to do the things we want to do, but what about things that we are perhaps not as passionate about? We get to choose to love others and meet the needs in front of us, just as Jesus chose to lay His life down for us. It's about following Jesus and His will for us, which is to serve those He wants us to serve. Our will and desires are not always bad, but we want to be aligned to God's will for us and be submitted to His calling for our lives.

Giving your life away for Jesus, as introduced to the disciples, would have meant something very different than it has come to mean in today's culture, where it was literally a life or death situation. Sadly, it's been cheapend to things such as volunteering and tithing, when it was really founded on an exchange of your life into Jesus' hands. Giving your life away starts with asking Jesus, "What do You want me to do today?" What's the need that is crossing your path today?
