Live Life in Motion

Jenny D'Anthony and Anna McLean are team United Row!! On June 12th, 2024, Jenny and Anna will be setting off on a world record attempt to row across the Pacific Ocean. They are aiming to be the youngest and fastest pair to row 2800 miles from Monterey Bay, CA to Kauai, HI. Battling 60ft waves, seasickness, constant exposure to the elements, physical exhaustion, and estimated to spend more than 60 days at sea, this is truly the adventure of a lifetime.

The challenge is incredible. Jenny and Anna became best friends almost 10 years ago at Clemson University. They met on the rowing team. They are rowing in support of Hear Her Roar, an initiative to propel the future of women and girls in sport, education, and leadership and are united across all these aspects.

Today I get to talk with Josh Perry! Josh has an incredible and inspiring story. Josh grew up loving BMX and at an early age his passion for BMX bike riding was going to be his career. In 2009 he was 20 years old, winning professional contests and competing at the highest level in the sport. In 2010 a crash led him to get a brain scan. There was no damage from the accident, but the scan revealed Josh had a brain tumor that was taking up nearly the entire left side of his brain and it might be cancer.

Josh immediately went into surgery not knowing if he would wake up, or if he would have cancer and he was told he would probably never ride again. FIVE weeks later he was riding again. He went on to fight many more battles with brain tumors but continued to have an incredible BMX riding career. Today he is retired after a long career. He is a brain and health advocate and works as a Performance Coach!

Today I talk with Ryan Duey! Ryan has an awesome story that has led him to become the founder of two health and wellness companies. Ryan was born and raised in Northern California. In his early 20s, Ryan had what he calls his “greatest gift”: a head-on motorcycle accident in Thailand. This near-death experience catapulted Ryan into a journey of self-inquiry, leading him to the jungles of the Amazon, the inside of a float tank, and a commitment to entrepreneurship in the Health and Wellness industry. Ryan has joined forces with Michael Garrett to create Plunge. Their mission is to make cold plunging as common as coffee!

Today I talk with Dr. Stefi Cohen! Stefi grew up in Venezuela where we became the country’s top female soccer player! From there, she moved to the states to play soccer. Not long after moving to the United States she decided to pursue powerlifting where she went on to set 25 World Records in Powerlifting. She is the first women to deadlift over 4 times her bodyweight in powerlifting! Looking for a new challenge Stefi has taken on boxing and has her mind set on world championships in boxing. There is no doubt in my mind Dr. Stefi will reach her goals in boxing and whatever else she sets in her path. Enjoy!
