This week the 41st U.S. Senior Open Championship is taking place at Omaha Country Club. “Live & Local” host Mike Hogan went to the press event there and was able to have a conversation about the importance of this event, (in quick succession with the Swim Trials and the College World Series), to the economic recovery of the greater Omaha metro area.

Several charitable organizations have banded together for the "Saddle Up Under the Stars FREE Drive-In Movie Night." Julie Boilsen, CEO with the Omaha Equestrian Foundation, joined Mike Hogan on “Live & Local” to discuss the motivation behind the event.

WhyArts (whyartsinc.org) and Arts in Motion (artsinmotionomaha.org) are merging on July 1, creating an arts nonprofit in Omaha that will serve thousands of Nebraskans annually, with a particular focus on serving people with disabilities.

A hundred years ago, two Omaha newspapermen – Leo Bozell and Morris Jacobs started the advertising firm Bozell & Jacobs. A century later, three women own the legendary firm in an industry that at one time was male dominated.

During the pandemic, business faced closure while workers faced unemployment. Two centers at UNO worked hard to provide the resources and data to help business owners stay afloat and provide civic leaders with the data necessary to make decisions that helped the citizens of Nebraska.
