  • #122 You Don't Owe Anyone, A LNTS Episode
It's official, you guys requested more 'Life's Not That Serious' episodes so I'm delivering. Today, we're talking about distancing ourselves from our goals, when I first heard this it gave me a total lightbulb moment. The concept makes goals more attainable if you're consciously or subconsciously putting distance between you and something you want. Plus, a great article on how you don't owe anyone an interaction, a concept especially valid for vegans or people living a 'different' lifestyle where others have a lot of questions. And how our ability to be kind erodes when we aren't kind to ourselves. If there's something you want to hear discussed on a LNTS episode, let me know over on Instagram.

  • #121 Is Veganism a Religion w Victoria Moran of Main Street Vegan
You've heard it before, 'veganism is a religion, and I've already got one', or even the extreme, 'veganism is a cult'. Today we're exploring the connection, or lack thereof, between religion and veganism. Today's guest Victoria Moran of Main Street Vegan shares her take on veganism & religion, how veganism isn't a diet even though she's lost 60lbs through this lifestyle, and how veganism has changed in the 35 years Victoria has been vegan.

  • #119 Life's Not That Serious
After mentioning my new life motto, 'Life's Not That Serious', on episode 110, it turns out a lot of you guys resonated with the message too. I wanted to do an update and take questions about the topic of slowing down, realizing you don't need to be perfect, and changing your perspective that 'LNTS' is. If you're looking to become vegan, make less waste, heck even if you're looking to become a kinder person LNTS can help. Today I do an update on where the motto has taken me, answer a question about being frustrated by friends and fam who don't get your changing lifestyle, and discuss what to do when you're stressed and want to get back to the mantra LNTS.

  • #116 The Keto Diet- Necessary or Not? & All about Cholesterol
Spurred on by a listener question, today we're doing another episode in the 'Necessary or Not' series and tackling the Keto diet. Is animal fat and plant fat the same? Does it behave differently in your body? Are carbs necessary or can you get away with very few as the Keto diet suggests? If someone compares the vegan 'diet' and keto diet I want you to be informed on whats happening behind this trending diet right now. Plus, you asked: food waste vs veganism, would I dare eat something non-vegan bound for the landfill? Should we support brands with non-vegan parent companies? And owning leather goods once you're already vegan, faux pas or less waste?

  • #114 The Importance of Being Prepared For Vegan Travel (Even if You're not Type-A)
Commonly, travel is thought of as a vegan hardship. What will you eat? Will you be able to find something suitable? Today I'm talking about the importance of being prepared and how it affects eating vegan while traveling. You don't have to turn into a type-A person to be prepared- trust me, I'm not type-A by any means. I'll share a few simple things that help me stay one step ahead so I'm never reaching that hangry danger zone while out and about. Plus, an update on how my new life motto, 'life's not that serious', has been changing my life.

  • #111 Why Documentaries Are So Important - International Vegan Film Festival & VegFest Wrap Up
Many vegans say that a documentary was the ultimate jumping off point into this lifestyle. Today's guest, Shawn Stratton took that notion and created the first ever International Vegan Film Festival in Ottawa. Shawn shares why this isn't just an Ottawa event and how you can get involved. Plus, I'm wrapping up my time at the Cleveland VegFest, hanging with past pod guests, and creating less waste at a food festival. And listener shoutouts are back this week! We get into how to make a small food budget work, clarify a common question on oregano oil, and a new use for camomile a listener suggested that I thought was worth passing along.
