On July 29, 2007, Shea McDonough of Chelmsford, Mass., returned home and left the back door open for her brother, not knowing he was spending the night at a friend’s house. Hours later, her parents were startled by a sound coming from her room. When her father went to Shea's room to check on her, he saw a large masked man standing over her with a knife at her throat.
