On this episode of the Live United weekly podcast, we talk about the role of hope in bullying prevention. To do that, our guest is Steve Hahn of the Parent Child Center of Tulsa. Learn more about this Tulsa Area United Way partner agency at www.parentchildcenter.org.
Today, Alison Anthony, CEO of Tulsa Area United Way, and I celebrate the 100th anniversary of our partner agency Family & Children’s Services. And to do that, we are joined by Family & Children’s Services' CEO, Gail Lapidus. In 1986, Gail was named the agency’s first female executive director.
Our mission today is to share how extraordinary Family & Children’s Services is for our community. We're also going to talk about some of the highlights of its 100-year history. And speaking of 100-year histories, Tulsa Area United Way will celebrate our own 100-year anniversary in 2024. I think it goes without saying that Tulsa Area United Way will be drawing creative inspiration from how incredible Family & Children's celebrates its centennial this year.
Tulsa Area United Way mobilized thousands of volunteers on October 1st for the 30th Annual Day of Caring. Thank you so much to all of our amazing volunteers and sponsors!
Volunteers completed more than 225 service projects by painting, sanding, scrubbing, planting, and putting a new shine on nonprofit facilities all over the region.
On this episode of the podcast, you'll hear about a Day of Caring project at the Salvation Army's Boys and Girls Club of Broken Arrow. And our guests are Mandy Monahan, of NORDAM, and Candi Moran, of the Boys and Girls Club.

Today, our guest is Maura Guten, president and CEO of our partner agency Child Abuse Network. Maura is prominently featured in the Tulsa Area United Way’s 2021 campaign video that spotlights how the Tulsa Area United Way and our partners launched the Look Out Reach Out -- #LookoutReachout -- campaign during the pandemic to help protect children in crisis, and the Tulsa area community responded. As a result, child abuse and neglect that would have gone unreported because of COVID-19 were exposed.
