Our favorite Radio Reverend is back with #misconceptions 2

Today we look at Matthew 5:1-11.

Often Jesus and Christianity is viewed as a soft faith requiring very little of their faithful, however this is incorrect.

Jesus asks his kingdom to release their challenges, issues and problems in an effort to be peacemakers instead of avengers.

Our favorite Radio Reverend is back with #misconception

Our first look is at Isaiah 54:17.

Upon first look many would think God is promising a future free of strife of struggle ,but in reality God is promising despite the strife and struggle we still have a future.

#Repent

Our favorite Radio Reverend is back with repentance!

Repenting can seem super complex and something you save for the end times but in reality, repentance is meant to be a daily process.

To repent is to confess, stop and return to God.

Confession of our sins so we can name them

Stopping the commitment of sin so we can grow

Return to God, abandon shame and recognize we all need to repent in order to be better than we were yesterday

#forgiveness

Forgiveness is the acceptance that you deserve to trade negative emotions for positive outcomes.

Often society prioritizes forgiveness of the offender where priority should rest on the victim. But the forgiveness process is shortened for societal ease leading to personal difficulties.

Ready to rest?

It’s TOUGH, to find time to rest up in our fast paced world. Often rest is looked down as being lazy, unproductive, or a waste but even God rested on the seventh day.

However rest is to rare to wait till the last day or even when we’re dead, rest is for the living and should be taken seriously as an act of worship. Resting in the midst of the storm is a perfect example of faith on display. Sleeping and restoring yourself while the lord works around you shows the trust between the two( 4 if counting all of the Trinity)

Our favorite Radio Reverend is back with Sexism in the Bible

Scripture has a lot to say about women despite never actually giving credit to women or asking what they have to say.

This has led to many sexist theologies that place women as second class citizens especially in the church, despite the fact that women are the main people in pews on Sunday.

God did not create women to be lesser than man but to be equal and partners to men in the bringing of the kingdom.

Classism in the Bible:

Our favorite Radio Reverend is back with Classism

The scripture speaks often against classism ,however many believers have fallen for the trap in believing that ones economic status is tied to their spiritual progression

This can’t be the case since the namesake of the faith was homeless and broke, yet possed the spiritual ability to save all of existence.

God is a God of the least of us, so our situations whether economic or ability do not deny us the Love that God provides to all of creation!

Albeism in Bible

Stories of miraculous healing in the Bible are often read as stories of a successful faith but in reality they are examples of a failed society and religion.

The body of Christ is meant to protect and support the most vulnerable parts yet the church continues to exclude the differently abled.

We are healed by our faith but the lack of miracles does not mean a lack of faith. God provides different and alternative miracles the same way God creates people who go through life in different and alternative ways!

Racism in the Bible:

Our favorite Radio Reverend is back with a hard hitter on RACISM.

The church and the Bible have played a major role in racism across the world and throughout time, but the Bible also holds the key to liberating creation from racism.

Racism causes creation to miss the mark by placing a hierarchy onto creation. God never established such a hierarchy and any enforcing of it is an act of blasphemy.

God so loved the whole world, that salvation was given not just a particular people.

Trinity Explained: The Son

Our favorite Radio Reverend is back with The Trinity Explained!

Today we are talking about the son!

Throughout history organizations have attempted to bridge the distance between Creation and Creator through complex ceremonies and procedures.

But Jesus acts as a Natural bridge connecting The mundane to Divinity.

The connection with our creator is meant to be Easy and available to everyone. This is exemplified through the actions of Christ.
