Hey friends!!! It has been a CRAAAAZY few weeks!! Honestly, from one year to the next I somehow always forget how busy it is when it’s this close to our next MAVO event!! This year is our 9th Conference and I’m SO freaking excited about it!!! Hi! Thanks for tuning in to another episode of “Live with Squacky”! I’m your host, Val Kelly – otherwise known as “Squackyvoice”!! My Special Guest today is someone I actually met in - I think it was 2012 – at one of the first VO conferences I ever went to!! Anne Ganguzza is a professional voice actor, coach, and award-winning producer with a dynamic presence and a passion for all things voice + technology. She works with talent around the world who are interested in boosting their VO career to the next level, using target-marketed demos and customized marketing strategies in addition to vocal coaching. Her networking group, the VO Peeps, offers meetups and workouts with incredible opportunities for feedback and growth; while her VO BOSS podcast can be heard weekly around the globe, and highlights prescient industry topics with a fresh take on what’s happening in voice over. Anne's voiceover credits include United Healthcare, Delta, Pearson, Mercedes Benz, PayPal, Wells Fargo, Michelin, Credit Suisse, Cisco, Toyota, Panasonic, Baxter, Xerox, and more...
Anne is going to be a guest speaker at our MAVO2024 conference this year coming up in just a few short weeks! She will offer a general session on corporate narration, and then two, 3-hour mastery sessions. As you guys probably know, the MAVO2024 “Get Inspired” Voiceover
Conference is coming up in just a few weeks on November 8-10 at the Westin
Dulles Hotel in Herndon, Virginia. If you’ve attended the event before, then
you know that things would not run as seamlessly as they do if it weren’t for
our Special guest today!
For over 40 years Emmy Award winning sound designer, recording engineer,
and producer/director “Uncle Roy” Yokelson has been helping the voiceover
and music industries with education and technical support. If it has
ANYTHING to do with audio, "Antland Productions" is the only company you’ll
ever need.
Roy is a SAG-AFTRA approved audiobook director/producer. He’s the co-
producer of the “Live with Squacky” podcast and he mixes and masters every
episode! He is the lead audio engineer in charge of all the equipment and
sound at MAVO2024! His assistant at the conference is Patrick Kirchner and
we honestly couldn’t run the event without these two!
This episode is a fun chat with "Uncle" Roy about what he does as an audio engineer and what his role will be at the upcoming MAVO2024 Conference! Enjoy!!

You already know I’m a voice actor, but some of you probably
don’t know that I’m up at 4:30am Monday-Friday from early
August until mid-June! I’m also a French teacher at a high school
in Northern Virginia – and the commute is a bit of a trek! Luckily, I
have a great morning show to listen to in the car everyday!! So,
I’ve been listening to B101.5 - a local Fredericksburg radio
station - for maybe like 15 years now!! The show has switched
hosts a couple of times since I started listening. And now it’s been
a few years since the latest host of the 5 o’clock show has been
on air. Jeremy Grey had big shoes to fill when he stepped into this
spot, because Dee Daniels was the host before him and she was
really well liked in the community and on air! But I have to say,
there really wasn’t much of an adjustment period. Jeremy stepped
right into “The Jeremy Grey Show” from 5am-10am on weekday
mornings without any issues at all! It seemed like it was so meant
to be!! He has a great rapport with Ted Schubel who is on the
show with him for the “5 o’clock club” from 5am-6am each
morning! Jeremy is originally from North Carolina, but has lived in
Virginia now for a few years. He loves thrifting, metal detecting
and he’s really funny too!
This is a super fun episode!! I hope you enjoy it! For more info about Jeremy Grey, check out info about him on B101.5! Or connect with him on Instagram @mrjeremygrey.

Hosting a podcast is always interesting because no two episodes will ever be the
same. When I ask people to be on my show to talk about their careers – whether
they’re actors, singers, directors or something else, I am almost always surprised
with at least one of their responses to my questions!! Now, in most cases, I spend
a lot of time researching my guests so that I have some background knowledge
into what they’ve accomplished. But that task is easier for some than for others!
Today is one of those instances where my special guest is a bit off the grid!!
Devon Smith – otherwise known as Devachi is a very talented singer/songwriter
and also happens to be my BFB!! BFB? You might be thinking – what the heck is
that?! It stands for “Best friends brother”! It’s a throwback to a song from
“Victorious” from years ago!! LOL! Anyway, the little info I actually know about
Devachi is from listening to his music and from chatting to his brother Jordan Grey about him over the years! It’s funny though because Jordan and I have been great friends for like 11 years now and I’ve only ever met Devon in person once!
So, I thought it was about time for me to have a chat and get to know this
talented guy a little bit better! I hope you enjoy this fun episode!!
