My Favorite Quote This Week:
"I just googled my symptoms and it turns out I need acupuncture".
She believes that health starts with what we eat, how we move and how well we manage stress. She wants to help prevent little health issues from becoming big ones down the road. She's committed to slowing down the aging process and wants to help others with this too. There’s a lot of health information available out there, and she's here to help people focus on what’s important and sustainable for them.

10:00: I started rock climbing this year and I thought that was a good idea. I decided that that would be part of my getting older and mobility. I love it because I was doing CrossFit too.
20:00: So it's just strategic looking when someone is doing dry needling. They're going after the trigger point in the muscle. So they're going to take that needle, and they're going to go directly for the trigger point. It's not an acupuncture point, let's put it this way, some acupuncture points happen to be trigger points, but typically they're not acupuncture points.
34:00: If you legit know something's wrong and none of your tricks are working, I usually would say it's time to go talk to somebody. It doesn't matter how tough of a guy you are, I know, I fight with the firefighters too. I see this in my practice, I'm like, I don't care. I'm not gonna make fun of you. You've got to pay attention to science because if you blow it off too long, it's gonna be a big problem. That's what I do, I try to save people from the big problems that come up.
40:00: The top of antibiotics can be sensitive. My sister in law is on a really hardcore antibiotic right now. I know most people go into the grocery store and are making the guessing game on their probiotics. You should take something while you're on the antibiotic because you're just thrashing your gut bacteria and that is ravaging that.
50:00: For folks listening out there, medical doctors can be functional medicine focused too. I think for a lot of people, we get a little confusion in terms of our medical doctors vs functional medicine doctors. Naturopaths can also be functional medicine doctors and actually, we can be both. It's just additional education.
54:00: Final Words
Our Final Words of the Show:
The two best things that I'd like to have folks hear and no matter whether they're my patients or anyone listening to your podcast, or my podcasts, anyone out there in the world paying attention to the little things, little symptoms that show up that are nagging you day in, day out... Write them suckers down and pay attention a little bit to when they're happening. Then either if you're not comfortable with the MD, find a naturopath, find a functional medicine doc or naturopath and ask questions. Why am I having these symptoms, investigate it further? I'm a fan of Google doctoring.

00:30: Introduction
11:00: One of my good friends who's also a coach uses this illustration... He says, there are only a few things or virtually nothing that will motivate humans as much as seeing progress. So you have to have a why. Then when you put in the effort, you want to be met with momentum and progress. Otherwise, it's very discouraging.
20:00: We need to know what your body type and goal is, that's going to massively influence our approach. Just because two people are of similar stature doesn't mean that we're going to approach it the same way. They may have very different goals. I need to know about your lifestyle. So even as simple as carbs role in your diet are going to be influenced by your lifestyle.
29:30: Just for representation, we'll discuss this based on thousand calories a day. That will help illustrate this well. Now on this island, are skinny people, fat people, men or women, young people or old people, everything. We're going to give them all 1000 calories a day. Then we pick them up a year later. Every single person that comes off that island, their new metabolic rate is 1000 calories a day they are burning exactly what they're taking in or they don't come on.
42:00: They want to know, well Angelo, what is MetPro? Is it high carb or low carb? Is it a gluten-free or a dairy-free thing? Is it vegan? Is it vegetarian? So just so that all the listeners understand, we actually go right down the middle. We're diet agnostic.
51:00: We have a lot of entrepreneurs, a lot of guys and gals in their mid to late 40s and into their 50s. They all have successful careers and they call me up saying, you know, what's important to me now is my health. I want fitness, I want health. It comes back to the old adage of the ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. If you recognize this is an area that you can improve in, oh my gosh, the rest gets easy. All of my business entrepreneurs, all of my people that attack their career with passion, they will all tell you they're more profitable and they are more productive with their health. They feel better about all areas of their life when they respect themselves and take care of their health and their fitness.
53:00: Final Words
Our Final Words of the Show:
There is always the next step to keep learning. At its core, there's nothing that frustrates me more than when we are referred to as a weight-loss company. Yes, 85% of our clients are the reference that you made, with broken metabolism, that's exactly who we work with. But that's not what lit my fire and got me into this. I am edgy and I'm passionate about education. So, if you can learn more about how your body responds, you have the ability to accomplish things, strategies, techniques that can go with you a lifetime, so never stop learning.

10:00: How tough are we really? You know, when a mosquito bites you, it hurts. You know, when somebody pinches you, it hurts. You know, it's very easy to cut yourself. We're actually delicate creatures.
20:00: You got to physically survive, you have to understand how the world works and how to cheat other people better than you how you get cheated. All of the skills we learn for managing our physical existence on the planet, you're building up your senses.
30:00: You have the possibility to change your program, and that deep place of peace, love, joy, contentment, and wholeness. That place has never been affected by what affected your body, your mind, and your emotions.
40:00: So you can't be in your head in order to be fully present experientially, in all of your being and your surroundings. When you're fully present in all of your being and your surroundings, figuring out what to do when things happen. It's not complicated. Because you're doing it, you're filled with joy, you're filled with love, you care for life, whatever needs caring for whatever needs uplifting, whatever needs to be protected and saved.

Our Final Words of the Show:
You get this gift and if you don't unwrap this gift, you don't open it up and really get what you've been given, it's a wasted gift because nobody else can enjoy it for it. So this should be to me, the most normal, the most rewarding thing a human being can do in their life. I just say make time for it. Make time for you, make time for all kinds of crazy shit. Make time for this. Make time for yourself, make time for how amazing it is to be you!

Debbie's own words are below. We want to preface this by saying if we exceed our campaign goal, we will work together to make a donation to a Women's Shelter, Community Center, or Transitional Housing to be named at a later date. Thank you in advance, your Campaign Advocate ~ Scott Mulvaney. Now here are Debbie's current life transparency words:
I'm a victim of domestic violence, and I’ve now learned there’s nowhere to turn. With your help, I can avoid being a casualty.
Like most women, I never thought I would be here. Yet I am, I'm living with emotional and verbal abuse, worrying if each day it will turn to physical.
It started slowly. The first time he threatened me, I wrote it off as a mistake. The next time, I blamed myself. Then, I declared it would be the “last time.” It wasn’t. After a while, I stopped bothering to make excuses. The abuse started to feel normal. Recently, things have gotten worse, it's bad enough now that I have realized I need to run or I will die this way.
He's a functional alcoholic, who fires off insults and gaslights my every move. While he doesn't remember what he's said or done the night before he denies it ever happens and blames it on me. He's threatened to lock me out, has drawn a fist and aimed it at my face and told me to get the hell out, and take nothing. Everything, to his way of thinking, belongs to him. 30 minutes too long at the grocery and I've been with a 'boyfriend', and that sets off another round of insults. Nothing is my business, (I'm his wife right?) his health, his finances, nothing. Nothing is shared by him. He has to know the details of every penny I spend. His tossing a beloved pet across the room triggered my breaking point.
I would just leave but I cannot afford to leave everything behind. As a woman of a certain age, it’s hard to recoup financially to be able to start over. Although I have contributed to our household, as well as furniture and household goods that I purchased myself, he says I have no right them. Not even my personal clothes. I have pets that I love and do not want to abandon. I need to escape.
I work, but paying medical bills from a recent surgery has left my coffers drained. (He is my husband, but refuses to pay my medical expenses) He pays toward rent and utilities, part but not full, but the rest of everything is on me. This campaign is to help me get the resources I need to leave quickly and safely, with the goal of raising funds by March 15, 2020.
I'm tired y’all, really tired. I’m scared if I don’t get out now, I won’t, at least not whole anyway. I hate airing my “dirty laundry” but what I’ve been told is that I’m deserving of help, and this is not my shame, it’s his. I’m asking for help to restart my life where I can live peacefully and without fear.

Stockton Aloe 1 History
Our goal is to provide the best 100% pure raw unfiltered Aloe vera gel and products made from the same. In doing so, we are committed to continuing the legacy of Rodney Stockton.
THE STOCKTON ALOE HISTORY began in 1941, when a chemical engineer suffered severe sunburn while vacationing in Florida. Finding no available product that could soothe the pain and help heal the burn, the chemist began seeking a cure … a search that would soon change his life and his career.
Local residents told him of a Seminole Indian medicine man who relied on a special salve to treat burns, wounds, and intestinal disorders. The chemist collected a sample of the plant from which the salve was derived. He then took it to a prominent botanical gardener, who called it by the traditional name, “Virgin Trinity.” The botanist said the plant was a rare variety of Aloe vera – thought to be a direct descendant of the plant Nicodemus used to help prepare the body of Jesus Christ for burial (John 19:39).
That intriguing news led the chemist, Rodney M. Stockton, to conduct a study of Aloe plants from around the globe. He found none more effective for supporting health and helping heal skin conditions than the Virgin Trinity, now known as Aloe barbadensis miller-stockton.
Stockton worked to stabilize the gel. He was then able to produce and distribute his Aloe Vera Gel Health Drink® and Youth-Derm Ointment®. The drink was first introduced in 1951, and the ointment in 1953. Stockton remained vibrant and mentally sharp up to his passing in 2009, at 96 years of age. He attributed his excellent health to the fortunate discovery and regular use of Aloe barbadensis miller-stockton.
Rodney Stockton’s longtime friend, Dr. Michael Haley, agreed to carry on the work. Dr. Haley pledged to cultivate and protect the Virgin Trinity. He continues to rely exclusively on the gel from that precious plant as the primary ingredient in every Aloe product Stockton Aloe 1 offers. That means you may be confident of obtaining the purest and most effective form of Aloe vera available anywhere when you order from us.

00:30: Introduction
11:00: You mentioned wine and you mentioned scotch. The wine we have today is different than the wine of 1000 years ago. If you think about it, we were hyper-fermenting it and then filling it with preservatives to stop that fermentation so we can stop the flavor right where it is. It's funny because I think about something that was written, you know, 2000 years ago, and in the scriptures that said, Stop drinking only water and use a little wine for your stomach and your frequent infirmities.
20:00: In this case, she already went for an evaluation and they said you have so much cancer that we can't do surgery. You know, it metastasized to your liver and that's all over the place. It's all over your intestines. We can't take it out because there'll be nothing left that can run your body.
31:00: I was bothered because something told me that the author of this article in this newspaper knew more about fighter nutrition than me about a little bit of a pride issue. Well, I remember I called him up, and I said, well, you know, what do you what are you supplementing with? When it comes to the phytonutrients?
41:00: If I were to oversimplify, it seems that you know, can cs mannose as a sugar molecule, but it would be like me trying to take the biggest bite out of a too big of an apple that was too hard and I sink my teeth into it and I wasn't strong enough to bite through it. I couldn't open my mouth wide enough to get rid of it. That's kind of how it is when cancer eats the man knows it kind of binds to you know, eating receptor and can't release it so it can't eat the glucose but it can't eat the mannose so it stops growing according to the chemotherapy company or whatever. You know, supposedly cancer stops growing and then the chemo kills it. Wow. But if you ask me if you can't eat it dies.
50:00: Here's the interesting thing because this is what really happens and some of them, by the way, you'll find in the store shelves in glass bottles. We are using plastic now we are using bottles that have been cured long before they're filled. We're putting cold liquid in them which is going to decrease, plastic mostly does get a bad rap from bottled water where they blow the bottles and they fill in right away, cap it, and put them on the pallets.

Our Final Words of the Show:
I think what it comes down to is really keeping an open mind. Because, you know, you and I can agree, we know a lot, but we have so much more to know. We must continue to learn, it's never-ending, keep your mind open and keep going. You know, there's there's so much more out there that we just don't know yet.

10:00: Coach Matt Beckwith, I come off a 20-year career coaching swimming at the collegiate and club level for United States Swimming. I got to work with a lot of really great kids, athletes, and other coaches. I still stay in the community a little bit but more on the strength and conditioning side.
20:00: Coach Rob Eschbach, If we don't meet those athletes where they are, then it will be difficult for them. You can't walk into a competitive performance environment with goals of carrying laundry up steps. Now those goals just don't lie. So we're trying to align the client's goal with their programming.
30:00: I say to this day, I've never slept so well in my life as I when I slept in Arizona, and it was not a nice hotel. It was just your brain was shot, I was so fried. I think we were in mid-conversation during a basketball game, I woke up the next day, I have no idea what happened. I know I fell asleep and I woke up. I just passed out just because my brain was so fried and full of knowledge from the last three days of coursework.
40:00: I worked officiating and governing body type activities within the Mid-Atlantic Swimming and USA Swimming, as far as the structure of the organization goes. When I heard about the USAFF, USA Functional Fitness, it was something that I thought was cool. Their goals are in place to see Functional Fitness as an Olympic sport in 2028.
50:00: If we're talking about functional fitness, we're talking about programming and methodology that is more natural. This is important when looking at what's next after your competitive career is over. We have talked about having a finite number of competitions left in my game. I know Matt the same thing. But this doesn't mean you stop, functional fitness is functional. It is health and wellness. That's the overarching goal of what we do. These kids want to know, they're gonna bust their butts and compete at the national level or international level for however long the duration of their career is. But this should be something when they're done competing that they can continue.
01:01:50: Final Words
Our Final Words of the Show:
Coach Matt Beckwith: I love working with people and seeing them grow. So that's why I'm here.
Coach Rob Eschbach:
I've always liked helping people. Not everybody has someone to help them through life, has a mentor, leader, coach, or a trainer to help guide them. So someone needs it. I want to be here for them. It doesn't matter where they are or where they need it.

A former attorney turned author, speaker, and radio personality Lora Cheadle empowers daring individuals to drop their cover and show themselves for who they are, not who they think they should be. Her mission is to shift the energy we spend in proving our worth and conforming to external standards into validating ourselves and enjoying the lives we've worked so hard to create. With a unique combination of intellect, humor, and emotional depth, she shows people how to dismantle their own constricting beliefs, shed the labels, roles, and scripts that no longer suit them, and embody all facets of who they are in everything that they do. Integrating her unique identities as an attorney, hypnotherapist, minister, burlesque dancer, and aficionado of all things fitness related, Lora works with people and companies worldwide to overcome the frustration and overwhelm of dancing backward in heels. Inspired by her favorite quote about Fred Astaire, “Sure he was great, but don’t forget that Ginger Rodgers did everything he did, backward and in high heels.” Lora is passionate about getting her clients to turn around and create their own dance.
Quote: Sure he was great, but don't forget that Ginger Rogers did everything he did backwards and in high heels!

She is the founder of the FLAUNT! Follies, a dance troupe for women of all ages and abilities, and the FLAUNT Flock Facebook group.

00:30: Introduction
05:00: Because jackasses like me will probably want to haul ass down it and try and be a professional ski racer because I like to go fast. Well, let me tell you, you don't want to go fast on this one.
10:00: There are all kinds of health impacts on your eyes and staring at a computer screen too long is a negative one. I've got three screens right here. I rock blue blocker glasses in the evening but luckily it's still daylight outside right now.
15:00: I hinted about lung health, right, like getting outside and breathing the air. I realized, oh my god, this is the one year anniversary this week of my collapsed lung adventure.
20:00: Then in 2019 we were busy launching FUEL Foundations, my new nonprofit that the book will also benefit. It's like all of these things are just happening and we've got to roll with it. But you also have to pause and slow down and appreciate it while sharing the gratitude message.

Our Final Words of the Show:
Summing this whole piece of the podcast up, which is the gratitude, right, having the connections and the ability to reconnect with people and get back on the snow or on a bike or whatever, and just enjoy quality time with people. You know, besides the fact again, over all of this, we got to spend time with my wife's parents, who are also retired and had that house out in Colorado, and it gives us a less cost reduction on our vacation planning.
