The Old Testament prophets pointed to a Messiah, Anointed One.
He would be the Anointed King of the Jews.
The Anointed One that offered Himself for the atonement of all people's sin.
He was the Sacrifice that put an end to all animals sacrifices.
He is the High Priest that lives forever, ending the Levitical priesthood.
He intercedes for us still today, at the right hand of the Father.

The Israelites could only enter the courtyard.
The priests could only enter the Holy Place.
The High Priest could enter the Most Holy Place, but only once a year.
Because of Jesus, we can enter God's Presence at any time for any reason.
We no longer need a priest to minister on our behalf.
Jesus was our High Priest. He offered Himself as a sacrifice.
God accepts His perfect sacrifice, once for all.
Now all that receive that sacrifice are granted mercy.
