We look around the world today and nothing we can see is certain. But we must look to God.

1 Peter 1:24-25 For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: 25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

We cannot depend on things in the earthly realm. We enjoy them, but they are temporary and always subject to change.

Christians have faith, but will your anchor of faith hold in the storms of life? Is your anchor of faith a true anchor? Is your faith built upon the truth of scripture? Is your faith tested? Do you know how valuable, revealing, and full of love, a faith in Christ is? Is your faith timeless, or will the newest fad or the latest philosophy cause you to tie to a new anchor? Only a faith in Christ is true, tested, and timeless.

It is not a question of if you have a faith? It is not a question of will the storms of life come? It is the question, will your anchor of faith, hold through the storms? The time to anchor your hope and faith to Christ is now, before the storms show up.

Storm clouds are brewing, and the wind is blowing.

Trees that are not strong in their root system can be uprooted.

Ships that are not anchored during a storm can be blown off course and shipwrecked.

The question “Is our anchor secure as the old song says,” My anchor holds and grips the solid rock.”

This is a time for every believer to reflect and also a time to anticipate.

Like many of you, we have come through some very threatening storms.

Our nation is in a time of upheaval and extreme uncertainty. Satanic efforts to destroy the freedoms and liberties we have always known, and also our Christian way of life, are threatening us on every hand and are constantly seen on every news broadcast.

It is evident that the political storm, the pandemic storm, and the social storm of rebellion against the Truth of God and His statues are blowing ferociously now!

But the Good News is this: We win if we set our anchors and be steadfast in our faith.

There are four anchors that will hold your ship secure during this end time storm.

This is what I want to talk about today!

Many Christians think they don't have to go to church to be a Christian. Technically, they are correct, but church is more than just a place to go--it is a place where we gather to draw near to God, to progress in the faith together and to learn. Our prayer is that every Christian find their home church so they can mature in faith and grow in love.

When I was born into this world, I did not get to pick my parents, or the town that I lived in or the color of my skin. The circumstances of my physical birth was in the hands of God and my parents. I just happened to be the beneficiary of their decisions and I am glad I was born. I am glad I am who I am and grateful to God for leading me along the way.

I was born as a natural person. I was born of a corrupted nature handed down from me by my very great grandparents Adam and Eve.

My second birth was by choice--when I understood why Jesus died for me and why I needed to be born again.

True peace is a gift from God. A biblical definition of peace is having our decisions and actions in harmony and obedience with the known will of God. True peace comes from having true trust in God. We have to know and obey what God says about situations in order to enjoy the peace that God offers to us.

God is a God of order. He has established the laws of nature, this world and universe. Even the most liberal and atheistic scientists marvel at the creation of God.

Disorder establishes itself as a counterfeit order when man interferes with God's laws.

God’s Spiritual laws written in the Bible produce righteous results when we operate in the confines of His word.

Symptoms point to an underlying problem. It's easy to have fear in today's world, even for Christians. The word says, God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind--2 Timothy 1:7. Dissecting that scripture leads us to see the symptoms of fear so that we can shore up our spirit man and have courage, strength and fortitude.

This is the last in our Overcoming Series. It is easy to be fearful in today's uncertain world. But God wants us to have faith and not be afraid.

Peace is the restoration of our lives back to God's order. When the angel declared peace on earth, he was declaring that God's order would be restored with the birth of the Christ child.
