This weekend, we continued our series on Thessalonians as we looked at the example Paul gave us when he brought the gospel to Thessalonica. Paul served the people and became a blessing to them as he proclaimed the truth. Christians have had a long history of blessing people. Schools, libraries, churches, hospitals, orphanages. Christians are programmed to do this; it’s part of our DNA. It’s woven into the story of Redemption the God is writing.

This weekend we welcomed Curt Dalaba, Michigan District Secretary Treasurer, and former Pastor of First Assembly of God Greater Lansing. He and his wife, Anna, are also former AGWM missionaries. Curt taught about the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit to change lives.

This weekend we continue our journey through the Thessalonian letters.Paul spends a great deal of space commending the Thessalonian church. This weekend, explored why. We can learn from the mistakes of others, but we can also learn from their successes. The believers that constituted the Thessalonian church had something very special. Their cultural circumstances were very similar to ours if not worse, yet they lived powerful and commendable lives. Let's learn from their example and strive to emulate them.

This week we began a new series on I and II Thessalonians. In a time of cultural idolatry, paganism, and much persecution, the people of Thessalonica endured and persevered and their faith was proclaimed throughout the surrounding communities. They were a light to a dark world because their hope was founded on the love of Christ and the promise of his return. Today, as we face similar opposition to a life lived for Christ, we can find encouragement from these epistles, applying them to our own lives, standing firm in faith, with endurance and hope as we share the love of Christ in ever-increasing darkness, until his return.

As Christian singles In our sojourning as sexual creatures in the image of God, we have a high priest who helps us and endorses our journey along the way — even as we wrestle with sin and temptation we are inspired to live with a positive perspective and passion singled out to live set apart because being single is a gift, not a curse.

This week we continued our series on the very important topic of sex as we explored the foundation stones for a healthy love life. God created our sexuality to be released inside a complementary covenanted relationship. Our love life is not just a sex life. The sexual part of a husband and wife relationship is not the end all in a relationship but rather the product of a healthy relationship. But it is not only the product of a healthy relationship it is also an indicator as to the health of a relationship.

This weekend, we continued in our series discussing the powerful gift of our sexuality. We explored God's boundaries for sexual expression and answered the question, "Why wait?" We find that God's boundaries give us the best chance at a healthy and fulfilling love life. He gives us protection from heartbreak, disease and guilt and provides for us intimacy, peace of mind and a powerful covenant within which to raise a family.

This weekend, we celebrated the gift and calling of masculinity. The call to men is to be leaders, lovers, protectors and providers all under the banner of sonship. Today we will explore what it means to be a lover. Our culture has been so sexualized that when we say to men, you should be great lovers, it only carries a sexual connotation. Yet, God tells us that love is more profound than that. He tells us as men, that one of our primary roles is to love as Christ loved the church. This is a tall challenge that God can help us meet.

We continue our series this week on the powerful topic of human sexuality. Our sexuality was designed by God to show us more about him and to help unfold the redemption story to the world by filling it with His image. Last week we discussed how to live pure in a sexualized world. This weekend, Kim Waldie shared with us how best to teach our children about sex.
