Matthew 14:13-21

A crowd of over 5,000 people found themselves out in the wilderness and nothing to eat. Like those crowds, we find ourselves in a desolate wilderness full of hunger and disappointment due to sin. But God enters our wilderness and satisfies us with compassion. Listen in for some supernatural satisfaction.

God calls you a member of his family. He also gives you a place in the family of believers. We are doubly assured that we are part of the family!

Everyone wants a place to belong. We all want to feel included and wanted. God gives us a place to belong in his house and as one of his chosen people. You belong to God and he won't give you up.

1 Peter 1:22 - 2:3

Cravings are hard to ignore. They want to be satisfied. This is the sad truth about sinful cravings. But God has given you new birth by faith and your cravings changed. Now you crave the gospel hope of God's Word. You're born again - hungry for God's Word.

1 Peter 1:17-21

Here's a different take on that controversial Nike ad that came out this week. "God chooses to love you. Even if it means sacrificing everything. Jesus did it." Hope comes to us as a free gift from God. However, the free gift that we receive had a price tag, a very expensive one. The only one able to pay the price to give us hope is God himself. He purchased hope for us with the precious blood of Jesus.

1 Peter 1:3-9

A Christian's hope is not dead but alive because Jesus lives. The living hope found in Jesus' resurrection allows us to have hope even when our lives are tangled with distress and pain.
