Living in the Past

We are back with our 1998 season and for once we have some pretty good stuff to cover for our January episode. We have the beginning of the Clinton scandal, giant squid creatures in Deep Rising, Peter O'Toole somehow agreeing to be in Phantoms, Louis Theroux's TV debut, a new song for our Conan segment and then finishing off my chilling to a little Air.

We are back!! Before our 1998 season we wanted (well, Paul wanted) to give out a special spooky season treat and gift you all a watch along to one of the greatest movies of all time (Paul's words)....Halloween H20.

We talk about Michael Myers driving across the country, the shock of losing Joseph Gordon Levitt in the first 10 minutes, Josh Hartnett's hair, LL Cool J's weird erotic fiction subplot, judgemental waiters and so much more. Along for the ride is our guest for all things spooky, Laura Jayne Spooky and Ben can't complain about the runtime because it is only 86 minutes.

1998 season starts next week!

This week we farewell 1997 the year by ranking our Top 10 favourite songs, albums and films. In a year where one of us struggled to fill out the 10 spots and the other had too many options (so much so that he completely flouted the rules....but whatever) we think some of you will be pleased and the rest will thoroughly annoyed.

Thankyou for listening and all the support, we shall be back October...ish.

This week we are going through the Top 10 charts of the ARIA Singles and Albums charts and also the Hottest 100 of 1997. It was a great time for music with lots of different styles and long standing bands creating brilliant albums...unfortunately none of that is represented in these charts. Join us as we looks back at a time of MMM Bops, No Aphrodisiacs, Barbie Girls and Woo Hoos....and apparently also a time when you can release nearly every song on an album as a single....that's a too many singles!!!
