Rattlesnakes, the Red Hills & A Better Way Forward

What started as a customer request for rattlesnake belts eventually led SouthLife down a much bigger path.

After years of noticing fewer rattlesnakes across the South, Kelly began asking why. Those questions ultimately led us to Tall Timbers and a deeper understanding of the pressures facing the Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake and the important role this species plays in the Red Hills ecosystem.

In this episode of Living the SouthLife, Heather and Kelly sit down with a Tall Timbers biologist and communications director to talk about rattlesnake conservation, the research happening right here in our region, and why protecting these animals and the landscapes they depend on matters.

We also share the story behind SouthLife's new Rattlesnake Collection, why Kelly chose to create a custom rattlesnake-inspired pattern rather than continue using genuine hides, and how our new giveback partnership with Tall Timbers allows each purchase from the collection to help support conservation and research.

Sometimes the best way to understand the importance of conservation is to get out in the field and see the work for yourself.
