Behind the Scenes at Tall Timbers: Conservation in Action
Sometimes the best way to understand the importance of conservation is to get out in the field and see the work for yourself.
In this episode of Living the SouthLife, Heather and Kelly sit down with Biologist, Kim Sash and Communication Director, Brian Wiebler of Tall Timbers and then head out for a behind-the-scenes tour to experience firsthand the incredible conservation work happening right here in the Red Hills.
Kim and Brian walk us through the history and mission of Tall Timbers, the research taking place across its landscape, and the thoughtful land management practices that help protect the plants, wildlife, and habitats that make this region so unique.
Along the way, we talk about everything from prescribed fire and wildlife research to the delicate balance required to preserve these special places for generations to come.
For us, this visit was about more than learning about conservation. It was an opportunity to better understand the land we call home, the people who have dedicated their careers to protecting it, and how all of us can play a part in preserving what makes the Red Hills so special.
Come along with us for a day at Tall Timbers and a closer look at what conservation really looks like in action.
