Matthew Allman was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder after an acute episode led to his being sectioned and institutionalised in an asylum, in Barbados. Despite being held in total isolation and being medicated to manage his behaviour, he found a way out. In this interview he talks about how taboo mental illness is in his home country and incidents that led up to him bneing sectioned. He shares the methods he has learned to manage his condition, allowing him to pursue his musical career and live life without the need for medication.
