You aren't born with courage and you don't have to visit the Wizard of Oz to get some. PRACTICE and REPETITION leads to courage - and there's plenty available for you.
You've often heard about the calm before the storm. I believe that point of view to be wrong. I think we should seek the calm AFTER the storm. We should be constantly creating some chaos, choosing the impact of INVITED and PRE-DESIGNED challenges so we build the mental muscle to handle the obstacles and events of our lives without them becoming a crisis and without the usual anxiety and panic.
Have you ever felt bored - despite having a business to run, a household to tend to, children to take care of, a spouse to work with , etc., etc. Me too. It's really just an illusion and there's a simple and effective remedy to solve this problem.
Scientists have shown that stress is a greater killer and more harmful to us than smoking! Studies show that unless you live in the top 5% of wealth in the US, you likely live with more stress and are more likely to have heart disease. Oddly enough, having clear, precise, super defined targets can actually RELIEVE stress and help you improve your health.
Sea Monkeys!
If you didn't read comic books in the early 70's, as I did, you probably have no idea what I'm talking about. So give this episode a listen and decide if you have Sea Monkeys in your life!
You KNOW that the method you use (or the lack thereof) to attain goals hasn't always worked. What you need is a new way of setting and attaining your targets. In today's episode, I outline how shifting your focus, where you put your thoughts and intention, can be a central factor in you getting what you want. #StrengthandHonor
If you make the decision to lead a life of expansion and growth (rather than contraction and less) you will encounter some resistance from SOME of your so called friends. They will be uncomfortable with the new version of you. They won't understand why the things that used to amuse you or thrill you no longer do so. They will want to keep you where you are, or bring you back to where you were, and in this sense seem to be against you. They're not. And they haven't suddenly become bad people. They just innately know that unless they transform as well they will ALWAYS be UNCOMFORTABLE around you and thus will see less of you. Thank them, don't hate them, for acknowledging your growth... and then keep going!
We operate mostly on illusions. Lies we tell our self and others to prop up our ego. These illusions are just stories we've built up over time based on our emotional reaction to our own history. To effect real and lasting change we have to give up on these illusions and change the stories we've created. Change them to ones that serve us rather than the lies we tell that are full of guilt, shame and anger.
We have been conditioned to pretend like we we've got it all under control and have no problems when we know in our heart that's not the truth. Listen in on why we must change that strategy.
Why choose expansion? Why reach for change? Why should I want to grow? If you've had these questions listen in on this discussion of why expansion in our lives is so important and why the obverse, contraction, is so distasteful.
