The world is consumed by influences from social media, celebrities, political figures, and cultural trends. Most of these are harmless novelties that burn out before they get started. But there are a few that take deep root inside the hearts and minds of many people. At times these influences can be self-destructive. We as followers of “The Way” (which is another term for Christians) are called to stand up for justice, truth, and decency. While many of us will never be rich, famous, powerful or go viral, we can still have major influence on those around us. We will focus on three areas of our lives in which we can have the largest influence: Friends, Family, and Community.
