Theme:                   The Holy Spirit is God's gracious gift to us in our baptism. We are those who             have received the same power that empowered Christ. Great demands are made             of the disciples of Jesus, but no demand is made without the gift of the Spirit that             enables us to meet those demands.

Theme:                  The Holy Spirit is something that cannot be controlled or contained. Like the wind it goes and does what it pleases. The good news is that the Holy Spirit blows on us, breathes into us, offers us grace and gives us what we need to worship.

May 31                   (First Sunday after Pentecost/Trinity Sunday)

Theme:                When Jesus ascended back to heaven after the resurrection, he promised the gift of the Holy Spirit. This Spirit is the actual presence of God in our world. But as comforting as the Spirit is, it can also be frightening to think of an uncontrollable Spirit that might rush into our lives at any moment and change who we are.

Theme:                  The apostles “roll the dice” to determine who will take the place of Judas. We roll the dice with every step of faith. And what we find with every roll is that in spite of everything God picks us. God picks fallible, ordinary people such as us, helps us to start over, and then equips us to do extraordinary things in his name.
