Truss arrives in the midst of a cost of living crisis that’s destined to get worse, with industrial unrest growing, the NHS in crisis, the ongoing fallout from Brexit, and with international tensions rising after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

If it’s a mess, it’s one she has helped create having held Cabinet positions since 2014, most recently serving as Johnson’s Foreign Secretary. Will her arrival at No.10 do anything to improve things?
