The Atlanta Braves lost the series opener to the Philadelphia Phillies. Ronald Acuna Jr. and Dansby Swanson have been struggling as of late. Madden released their ratings of the rookie quarterbacks and they had Ridder as the top quarterback. Jarvis Davis and Tenitra Batiste talked about Ridder’s ranking and determined what success looks like for him in his rookie campaign. Lastly, Kentucky Fried Chicken has been frying chicken for a very long time. But now, they are diving into the chicken nugget business. They are testing them out at select locations. Mark Zinno talked about how Riley should be in the National League MVP conversation, however he gave reasons why he may not. Lastly, the Atlanta Hawks have made moves in the offseason to try to become a contender in the Eastern Conference. With the news of the Boston Celtics putting a package together for Kevin Durant, Mark Zinno talked about how the Hawks should be prepared to make a move once that happens. Also, Zinno discussed whether or not there was any truth to a rumor he had heard about the Hawks.

The Falcons placed Deion Jones on the physically unable to perform list on Thursday. Lastly, the Washington Nationals were in the news because Juan Soto rejected their 440 million dollar contract offer recently, Now, the Nationals are in the news again because they didn’t want to charter a flight for Soto out to Los Angeles for the home run derby. Jarvis Davis and Tenitra Batiste talked about the Nationals’ level of petty and whether or not Kirby Smart has lost his mind.

The Atlanta Falcons are going into the 2022 season for the first time without Matt Ryan. Even though they have Marcus Mariota and Desmond Ridder, the Falcons have been linked to a trade for Jimmy Garoppolo. Jon Chuckery gave several reasons why trading for Garoppolo is a horribly bad idea. Secondly, the Atlanta Braves are in prime position to catch the New York Mets in the National League East. Their schedule to start the second half will help them to do that early on. Jon Chuckery talked about how the Braves have to be ready to face the team that they are trying to catch and if they play well, they could flip the division. Lastly, the Atlanta Falcons are primed and ready for the veterans to report next week. So the news of Deion Jones going on the PUP list makes all of the sense in the world. Jon Chuckery talked about how this news was all part of the plan for the Falcons. Also, Chuckery discussed that Jones won’t be a Falcon once the season starts.

However, there are reports that the Falcons might be interested in trading for veteran quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. Jarvis Davis and Tenitra Batiste talked about whether or not that makes any sense for the Falcons. Also, they talked about Kirby Smart getting an extension for the Georgia Bulldogs. Secondly, the Georgia Bulldogs are set to defend their national championship. Kirby Smart spoke at SEC Media Days yesterday and was very confident about the team he’s getting ready to field. Jarvis Davis and Tenitra Batiste discussed whether or not Smart had enough to repeat for a national championship. Lastly, Mario Cristobal has his work cut out for him in his first year as head coach for the Miami Hurricanes. Cristobal confirmed Thursday at ACC media days that the “turnover chain” will no longer be a part of Hurricane football. Jarvis Davis and Tenitra Batiste talked about what that means for the Hurricanes going forward. Also, they gave their thoughts on the ESPYs, which was hosted by Steph Curry.

ESPN put out their "Future Power Rankings" list and placed the Atlanta Falcons dead last. In comparison, in last year's list, they had the Bengals 29th and have bumped them up to 6th in 2022 because of their Super Bowl run. Mark Zinno talked about this to say how much these lists make people prisoners of the moment and Falcons’ fans shouldn't put too much stock in this list. Secondly, Arthur Smith has a lot of work to do in his second year as head coach of the Atlanta Falcons. There are a lot of scenarios that can play out for the Atlanta Falcons given their roster makeup. Josh Kendall of the Athletic wrote an article about it, and Mark Zinno talked about his issues with it. Lastly, the Atlanta Braves seem primed and ready to try and catch the New York Mets in the National League East. Brian Snitker has to have his team ready to compete in the second half of the season. Mark ZInno talked about how the Braves will be tested and there is one particular seven-game stretch that will be the best barometer for how ready they will be for October.

The Atlanta Hawks have made it a point to get better after bowing out of the first round of the NBA playoffs. Travis Schlenk and Landry Fields have been quiet lately because their roster seems to be set. Jon Chuckery talked about the Hawks “big three,” and where they rank amongst the top teams in the NBA. Secondly, when Terry Fontenot took over as general manager for the Atlanta Falcons, he knew exactly what he was getting himself into. Fontenot has had to make some hard decisions financially, specifically when he had to trade Matt Ryan back in the spring. Jon Chuckery talked about how Fontenot isn’t out of the woods yet as they head into the 2022 season. Lastly, the Georgia Bulldogs are the reigning national champions. But it all started some time ago when they decided to fire longtime head coach Mark Richt and bring in Kirby Smart. Jon Chuckery talked about that decision and came to the conclusion that he was wrong about the Bainbridge native. Also, Chuckery gives Georgia the credit they deserve.
