It was pretty clear that Freddie Freeman went through a lot of emotions when he came back to play against the Atlanta Braves over the weekend. Freeman probably realized how much he wanted to remain a Brave because he fired his agent yesterday. Jon Chuckery talked about the firing of his management team and what that means for Freeman going forward. Secondly, Nate McMillan was questioned as a head coach for the Atlanta Hawks in his first full season in that first chair. One of the reasons why he got the job was because he made necessary adjustments when he took over for Lloyd Pierce after he was let go. Jon Chuckery talked about being excited about the potential moves the Hawks can make, however McMillan will have to step up his game in order for those moves to work. Lastly, the Atlanta Braves were able to defeat the Philadelphia Phillies last night in the series opener. Matt Olson was a big reason why the Braves were able to get the win last night in Philadelphia. Jon Chuckery explained that that is exactly why the Braves traded for Olson. Also, Chuckery talked about what he doesn’t want to see from Olson anymore.

And with the SEC adding two new opponents, the schedule for the Georgia Bulldogs is going to change. No one knows fully what that will look like yet, but Mark Zinno gave his favorite match-ups based on the quality of the football opponent and the quality of the game. Lastly, free agency in the NBA will be super important for Travis Schlenk this summer. The Atlanta Hawks need to move fast, because the prices on all the prospective free agents is going to stay high. Mark Zinno explained that the Hawks need to move fast because teams around the league are going to be willing to meet player demands.

The Deshaun Watson mess gets worse as now the Houston Texans have been named in a lawsuit.Reportedly, the Texans were informed by a witness who says they spoke with the team about Watson's behavior. Mark Zinno explained that this should not prohibit the NFL from suspending Watson, but it will open a new investigation against the Texans. Secondly, Kyrie Irving decided to opt back in with the Brooklyn Nets. With Irving opting in, the assumption now is that Kevin Durant will stick around with the Nets as well. Mark Zinno explained how this makes life more difficult for the Atlanta Hawks to become a contender in the Eastern Conference next season. Lastly, the Atlanta Braves have played really well lately to climb second in the National League East. And now that the Braves have 20 games left before the all-star break, how they finish will be important. Plus, Mark Zinno explained that they have three games against the New York Mets, which will be a series that is treated like a playoff series.

The Atlanta Hawks have been part of a lot of trade rumors as we get closer to the new league year. There were reports that the Hawks are in talks with the San Antonio Spurs to get Dejounte Murray. Jon Chuckery talked about what that would mean for the Hawks’ front office. If the rumors are true, Chuckery stated that this would be a “complete fleece” if they pull off this trade. Secondly, the Atlanta Hawks made the news around the NBA Draft when reports came out about John Collins definitely being on the move. Travis Schlenk will have to be careful with how he manages this roster. Jon Chuckery talked about whether or not the Hawks should consider keeping Collins around because he isn’t a malcontent. Lastly, Deshaun Watson, and how many civil lawsuits he has, has been in the headlines for quite some time. The Atlanta Falcons were right along with Watson when they were in the running to trade for him. Jon Chuckery wanted to remind people that were clamoring for Watson to not act like they weren’t all on board for the Falcons to bring him on.

The Atlanta Braves failed to take advantage of the opportunities that the Los Angeles Dodgers gave them over the weekend. It was a weekend of mixed messages as the Braves lost to the Dodgers 5-3. Lastly, the Golden State Warriors were able to defeat the Boston Celtics for the NBA championship. The Atlanta Braves finished up their series against the Los Angeles Dodgers over the weekend. All eyes were on Freddie Freeman in his return to Truist Park. Mark Zinno talked about the signing of Marcus Mariota being a critical move for the Falcons after they traded Ryan. Also, Zinno believes Mariota is a serviceable quarterback but he explained how he shouldn’t be the best offseason move made this summer. Lastly, the All England Club banned Russian and Belarus players from competing this year at Wimbledon in response to the war in Ukraine. Mark Zinno explained the interesting part being a directive from the British government and it’s something we haven't seen before in quite some time.
