Brendon goes solo to break down the three biggest things he’s watching for coming out of the All-Star break for the Suns.

They are: The fit between Devin Booker and Ricky Rubio, the end of Ty Jerome’s rookie season, and the next steps for Jalen Lecque after spending most of the season in the G League. Listen for advanced numbers on the Booker-Rubio pairing on quotes from NAZ head coach Bret Burchard on Lecque’s season in the G League.

One of our favorite series to do on the podcast continues with Part II, as we break down the second portion of the season for Ricky Rubio as well as our first report cards for Deandre Ayton and Monty Williams.

Ayton’s constantly changing role makes for an intriguing grade, while Rubio stumbles and Williams tries desperately to win every game. This is an interesting group.

Make sure to check out part one as well!

Kicking off our second edition of this season’s trimester report cards, today’s episode features some heavy hitters. All-Star Devin Booker, Mikal Bridges, and Kelly Oubre Jr. go under the microscope from how they performed over the last three months.

Booker’s ability to carry the Suns consistently leads to high grades, but where do Bridges and Oubre land after improvements in their games?

Stay tuned for Part II on Monday featuring Deandre Ayton, Ricky Rubio and head coach Monty Williams!

In their final game before the All-Star break, the Phoenix Suns never really had to worry going against this year’s Golden State Warriors. After sprinting out to a quick double-digit lead, Phoenix didn’t really have to worry the rest of the way.

Thanks to a big outing from Devin Booker, the Suns now have more wins than they did in the last two seasons.

The biggest story, though, was Booker’s candidacy to become the All-Star replacement for the injured Damian Lillard. Hear what Booker had to say about the possibility.

Through the first half of the 2019-20 season, the Phoenix Suns have taken some much-needed steps forward internally. Not only have they already exceeded their win total from last season, but key pieces of their young core have developed even further.

Devin Booker might be the shoo-in for MVP, but Defensive Player of the Year and Most Improved Player were a healthy debate. Did Deandre Ayton do enough to dethrone Mikal Bridges for DPOY? How about a tight battle between Ayton and Kelly Oubre Jr. for MIP?

Who brings home your MVP, DPOY, and MIP for the Suns this season?

Coming into this game shorthanded, the Suns were expected to pick up a loss in Los Angeles. It ended being a 25-point loss in odd fashion, including a season-best performance from Rajon Rondo.

As Deandre Ayton sat out due with a tweaked ankle sustained in Phoenix’s last outing, the lack of size was obvious throughout. The most interesting decision, though, related to Kelly Oubre Jr. The Suns’ wing came off the bench, but the NBA TV broadcast hinted the move might’ve been disciplinary.

Mikal Bridges provided a strong outing as he begins to turn the corner at an opportune time. Just how important is this stretch for Bridges when it comes to the Suns’ long-term success?

What a weekend that was for the Suns.

After blowing out the Houston Rockets thanks to Kelly Oubre Jr. and Devin Booker each scoring 30-plus points, the next night saw the opposite result versus Denver. However, we still saw plenty of promising moments from Deandre Ayton, including perhaps the best game of his career against Denver.

Closing out the show, we talk through the Western Conference playoff picture once more. Where does Phoenix stand in a sudden six-team race for the No. 8 seed?

The Phoenix Suns' front office seems content with letting this season play out without any outside help. After the 2020 NBA trade deadline passed with no moves from Phoenix, what does this mean moving forward?

Devin Booker's best friends, Karl-Anthony Towns and D'Angelo Russell, are now teaming up in Minnesota. Plus, his agent Leon Rose is now the New York Knicks’ team president. How should Suns fans fell about all this?

Finally, we close with our thoughts on what could come next for Phoenix. If they were listening to offers on Kelly Oubre Jr., does that mean he could be the big trade chip to swing a star to the Valley this offseason?

With another loss in Detroit, the Phoenix Suns are now 20-31 and six games back of the No. 8 seed. What were the biggest takeaways from the Suns’ seventh loss in their last nine games?

As playoff hopes dwindle, trade rumors are heating up. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Phoenix and Detroit are at an impasse on a trade for combo guard Luke Kennard. Protections on a future first-round draft pick seem to be the sticking point.

Meanwhile, a surprising name popped up as a possible trade candidate: None other than Suns starting small forward Kelly Oubre Jr. was mentioned by The New York Times’ Marc Stein in a report Wednesday afternoon which said the Suns are fielding trade calls on Oubre. What does this mean for Oubre’s long-term future in the Valley?
