Locked On Titans Hit - Quick Takes on the Tennessee Titans

The Tennessee Titans need Cam Ward to play better if they have any chance to upset the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, but regardless if Ward plays well or not, the Titans cannot give up on him yet. It is far too early and the honest truth is Mitch Trubisky would represent zero hope for this team going forward. He is no Ryan Tannehill. The Titans have to do much better around Ward as well though and that starts with a more consistent run game and the offensive line finding a way to be respectable against a much better defensive front than they saw last week.

Jeffery Simmons is taking heat at the moment from Tennessee Titans and Philadelphia Eagles fans alike for a comment he made about Jalen Hurts. Simmons mentioned making Hurts play QB as a way to say they need to keep him in the pocket and not only was it not a diss, it was 100% correct from a football tactics standpoint. The Titans must also focus on slowing down Saquon Barkley and preventing explosive plays in the passing game.

The Tennessee Titans were an outright embarrassment against the New York Jets in Week 1, but the lone bright spot was rookie linebacker Anthony Hill. Hill had 16 total tackles with two passes defended and was the best rookie defender in the NFL in the first weekend. Hill cannot sit on the sidelines as Cedric Gray returns and must be inserted into the lineup for Cody Barton or James Williams. Also, Femi Oladejo needs more opportunities after he flashed in limited snaps. Oladejo has not developed much as a rusher, but with no one else getting pressure either, why not give Oladejo more of a chance.

The Tennessee Titans were without Cedric Gray in Week 1 and getting him back is critical for the Titans as they take on the Philadelphia Eagles. Gray will be needed to help with the run defense and dealing with Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts as a runner. Gray was only one of two players on the Titans first injury report, another good sign for the Titans. The Eagles had a massive lost this week with guard Landon Dickerson going on IR and are still without Johnathan Greenard on the edge. The Titans don't have much of a chance, but the injuries at least are in their favor as of now.

The Tennessee Titans got smoked by the New york Jets in Week 1, but a win in Week 2 against the Philadelphia Eagles would totally right the ship immediately. The vibes would flip overnight and the successful season we all hoped for would be back on! The quality of football would need to drastically improve for the Titans to win against a really good team, so that would be an even bigger excitement than the win itself.

Tyler is depressed after the Tennessee Titans awful loss to the New York Jets to start the year. The Titans have been bad for so long and have disappointed early for so many years that it is hard to feel anything other than tremendous sadness. When you look at other teams around the NFL it gets more frustrating. Other teams turn things around quicker, with the same exact scenarios as the Titans, but the Titans can't seem to be the team that does it no matter what they change. It is exhausting.

The Tennessee Titans lost to Robert Saleh's old team in the New York Jets and it exposed some of the key issues with Saleh as a coach. The game management was simply poor. Saleh punted multiple times in bad situations when the Titans clearly needed to go for it as an offense. He will need to be more aggressive going forward. However, issues with run defense and pass rush aren't going away because some of it is tied to a philosophical approach Saleh is committed to.

The Tennessee Titans took an embarrassing loss to the New York Jets and the worst part about it was that Cam Ward was the biggest problem on the day. The defense and special teams were also bad, but Ward's issues on offense weighed down the other units. A story Titans fans are used to at this point. However, the offensive line was not as bad as it seems. They may be hard to hear, but the tape shows an offensive line that was solid and a quarterback that made their job harder.

The Tennessee Titans were terrible in their season opening loss to the New York Jets, but the most concerning thing of all was the performance of Cam Ward. Ward looked awful and even though the offensive line was not great, Ward himself failed at the things he could control. At this point, you can only proceed with caution. However, there was one bright spot, as rookie linebacker Anthony Hill had an excellent debut and made highlight plays throughout. Femi Oladejo also had some excellent moments.

The Tennessee Titans got smoked by the New York Jets and now they may not win a game until Halloween when they see the Cleveland Browns. This type of loss not only killed all offseason momentum, but it created massive negative momentum that has a chance to ruin far more than just this game. Especially when all three phases played so poorly. Finally, Tyler goes through the Titans remaining schedule until the bye week and shows just how bleak things are looking now.
