Story Transcript:

Ro: Era o dimineață însorită de primăvară când Marius se trezi în apartamentul său micuț din centrul Bucureștiului.
En: It was a sunny spring morning when Marius woke up in his small apartment in the center of Bucharest.

Ro: Îmbrăcat în pijamale albastre cu stele, își începu ziua cu o ceașcă de cafea fierbinte.
En: Dressed in blue pajamas with stars, he started his day with a hot cup of coffee.

Ro: Curând după aceea, el realiză că uita să cumpere pâine cu o seară înainte.
En: Shortly after, he realized that he had forgotten to buy bread the night before.

Ro: Marius se gândi că ar fi o idee bună să coboare rapid la magazinul de la colțul străzii.
En: Marius thought it would be a good idea to quickly go down to the corner store.

Ro: Se uită în jur pentru pantofi, însă găsi doar niște papuci de casă vechi.
En: He looked around for shoes, but could only find some old slippers.

Ro: "Nu voi fi plecat decât un minut", își spuse el.
En: "I'll only be gone for a minute," he told himself.

Ro: Deschise ușa apartamentului și, lăsând cheia pe masa din hol, ieși pe palier.
En: He opened the apartment door and, leaving the key on the hallway table, stepped out onto the landing.

Ro: Dar, când auzi clicul ușii închizându-se în spatele său, un val de panică îl cuprinse.
En: But when he heard the click of the door closing behind him, a wave of panic engulfed him.

Ro: Cheia!
En: The key!

Ro: O lăsase înăuntru.
En: He had left it inside.

Ro: Marius bătu la ușile vecinilor, dar nimeni nu răspundea.
En: Marius knocked on the doors of his neighbors, but no one answered.

Ro: Era prea devreme, iar lumea probabil încă dormea.
En: It was too early, and people were probably still asleep.

Ro: Simțindu-se jenat și neliniștit, coborî scările în pijamale, sperând să găsească pe cineva care l-ar putea ajuta.
En: Feeling embarrassed and uneasy, he descended the stairs in his pajamas, hoping to find someone who could help him.
