One of the most controversial topics that have been discussed in the past decade has been gender identity or gender expression. In this commentary, we take a look at what is wrong and what can be salvaged from the ideas being pushed by intersectional feminists, LGBTQIAP+ activists, and the Neo-Marxist/Neo-Rousseauian postmodernists in academia, and combine them with ideas from the IDW aka the #IntellectualDarkWeb. We take a look at separating sexual orientation from expression, and the ideological consequences of such a pursuit. We try and separate the irrational, emotionally driven knowledge being pushed in the mainstream media with logical, rational perspectives that can satisfy the fundamental levels of science needed to build a comprehendible theory on. This topic is broken down into 3 perspectives: 1) Biological 2) Cultural 3) Political 1) Biologically, I accept the axiom of 2 genders, however, I do not reject the idea of a "spectrum of identity" that can exist within a given bifurcated biological framework (anatomical features, personality, etc.) 2) We see the cultural impacts of adapting these axioms and the cultural result of adopting the current way of thinking about gender and sexual orientation. 3) We dive into what philosophies drive the politics that seem to surround the given topic of gender and sexual identity like #PostModernism and Intersectionality. We also take a short dive into the philosophers that set the intellectual stage for these ideas to emerge from.
